I'm in the process of creating a Slayerette Code, modeled after the Geek
Code (www.geekcode.com). I'm in the final stages and getting ready to
release. Before I do that, I thought people might like to have some input.
Good idea? Bad idea? Any ideas?

Only one way to tell for sure if it is a good idea or not. Put it out there
and see what happens. You believed in it enough to create it.

Also, it's kind of hard to tell what might be a valid contribution if you
don't know what has already been done.

Well, after just completing the Geek Code, I think its a good idea. I
like it. Wasn't there one around? Um,
http://www.planetx.com/buffy/code/ But it is incomplete, so I'd
personally like to see yours, too.

OK, I don't want to sound like, completely mentally challenged here, but I totally
didn't understand the layout of that buffy code. And what's it for? I mean,
theres like 3 spaces for every question, and they're labelled, but it just doesn't
make any sense... God, maybe I am mentally challenged.

Well here it is.

Slayerette Code v1.0

How the Slayerette Code Works
Here is a sample version of the Slayerette Code:
---Begin Slayerette Code v1.0---
SC C.W/X/O/S/AB E.P1/N/S/I/P2 R.GJ/OW/XC A.B K(++)>(++++) F+++ H.A Eq S++ FF
a15 s.f
--End Slayerette Code v1.0---

At first, this may look a little confusing, but don't worry, you'll figure
it out.
Always begin your code like this: ---Begin Slayerette Code v1.0---
SC Put a space after the SC
Then start with the categories. The first one is C. Put a period (.) after
the category letter and the first variable.
Separate more than one variable with a slash (/).
Put a space in between each category. Always end your code with ---End
Slayerette Code v1.0---
Now, just follow the directions for each part and you're good to go!

Super Modifiers
? I have no idea what's going on with this category/haven't decided (placed
after)
! I refuse to particpate in this category (placed before)
( )>( ) I fit the first variable, but want to be the second
n none (used for faves, hottest character etc.)
(period). used to separate category and variable
/ used to separate more than one variable

K-Knowledge of the show
K+++++I am Joss Whedon
K++++ Give me a one minute clip, I'll tell you the entire episode is from.
K+++ Go ahead, ask me your toughest trivia question. I'll answer off the
top of my head. Correctly too!
K++ Give me a quiz, I'll most likely pass.
K+ I can answer my non-Slayerette friend's questions. What more do you
want?
K Hey, I know what's going on.
K- I get lost sometimes when I'm watching the show.
K--- Hey, why is Angel trying to kill Buffy?
K---- Why'd that guy turn to dust?
K----- Who's Buffy? What's a Slayer? Watcher? Hellmouth? And what in
H-E-double- hockey-sticks is a vampire?
F-how frequently you watch Buffy
F+++++ I watch Buffy every Monday night, no matter what! I also watch it
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights on
tape! I've got every episode.
F++++ I watch Buffy every Monday night period! No one even tries to stop
me.
F+++ The only nights I don't watch Buffy are when it's a rerun and I'm
really busy.
F++ I always watch the new ones. If it's a rerun, I'll watch if I think
about it.
F+ I only watch the new ones.
F I watch if I think about it and have time.
F- I'll watch it if someone else in the room is.
F-- I'll watch it if someone else in the room is and they refuse to turn
it off.
F--- Unless it looks interesting, I'll probably walk out of the room.
F---- The only time I'd watch it would be when my friend tied me to a
chair and taped my eyes open.
F----- If it's on, and I can't get out of the room, I'll throw a chair
through the TV. In other words, I don't.

Eq-Amount Of Vampire Fighting Equipment
Eq+++++I am a vamp weapons freak. I ponder ideas for new weapons. I
carry at least three on me at all times and know how to use them. Fear
me, creatures of the night.
Eq++++ I routinely carry a cross and a sharpened stake, and often holy
water or other equipment.
Eq+++ I've practiced with sharpened stakes and carry one occasionally.
Crossbows appeal to me.
Eq++ I routinely carry a cross for the express purpose of use against
vampires.
Eq+ There's a string of garlic in my house, for "traditional" reasons.
Eq I wear a cross, but it's mainly for other reasons. I guess I could
use it.
Eq- I've made a deal with the vamps. I donate regularly and they leave
me alone.
Eq-- I avoid holy water and garlic because of their connection with
vampires.
Eq--- Vampire fighting equipment; that's like wolfsbane, right?
Eq---- Sharp stakes? [Gasp!] You could hurt yourself with those! Like,
splinters!
Eq----- I am a wanna-be Slayer-killer. I practice with things that
specifically don't hurt vampires, like poison and metal swords. I wish
there was something that just killed Slayers so I could use it. A
HAHAHAAAAA!
S-Sensitivity to evil in proximity
S+++++ I am the Slayer.
S++++ I have a definite "spider-sense."
S+++ I clue in quick when something's up.
S++ I have a knack for avoiding trouble.
S+ I'm about average in this respect.
S I don't know; I've never had evil near me.
S- I tend to blunder into troublesome spots.
S-- The last time I sensed evil the guy was sharpening his axe and
chuckling.
S--- I'm about average for a teen in a horror movie.
S---- I am completely impervious to evil. I can't comprehend the
possibility of people deliberately doing bad things.
S----- I am a suburbanite Sunnydale resident.
FF-Fan fiction (do you write it?)
FF+++++I have my own (lengthy) series.
FF++++ I have a special spot in fanfic archives
FF+++ People recognize me as a fanfic writer
FF++ I've written 5 or 6 long stories.
FF+ I've written one or two
FF Sure, reading it is OK, but writing it?
FF- I only READ it when it looks interesting
FF-- I try to avoid the fanfic sites.
FF--- Why taint the real thing with stuff that is proven to be horrible?
FF---- I don't even think about a new storyline for the show.
FF----- Fanfic? What's fanfic?
FF* I have my own fanfic archive site. (this comes before any other
modifiers. So, if you have your own series, the code for this could be

Interesting. It would be more fun, in an evil kind of way,
to rate _other_ posters with the code. Bwa, ha , ha, ha!
On second thought that wouldn't be a good thing at all.
This newsgroup has a great tradition of keeping anything
that could be remotely considered a personal attack to an
absolute minimum. It's one of the reasons I enjoy the
atmosphere here so much.
Where would you encode the Potential Stalker Boy Factor?
(I LMAO reading a post once that said something like, "You
noticed which way the sun was shining from at the bus
station? Your Stalkers License is in the mail.")

You're not the only one, it makes no sense to me, either... And I'm not
mentally challenged...

I think...
