Don't know if this is true or not but, I think Tim would be an awesome Big
Bad.
Mr Frosty
Despite Tim Curry being just a sweet transvestite, he will be no big
bad.
IOW, just a rumor, shot down.

It could just be a flashback type thing, perhaps Buffy and company
are going to get some major insights into vampires and the demon
world.
Of course if the next season was going to be a Series Ender they
could always do some sort of wacky thing where killing the
First Vampire undoes the vampire race as a _whole_,
only sparing those vampires who conveniently have
souls (possibly turning them human).
Or of course this could be some kinda error.

A rodent with mad skillz, uh, no.
Your correct, the role of Uther, the First Vampire, will be played by
Ted McGinley and not Tim Curry.

I think at this point it is a safe bet it won't happen.
Tim Curry is going to be on Family Affair this
upcoming season......

He probably could but the odds are that he won't. Very few
actors have the stamina to do more than one series.....

Yes, but will Ted McGinley be jumping over the loan*shark* on a
motorcycle? Or will it be water skis? A jetski maybe? :)

Here is the salient info: Trust the data on IMDb about as far as you
can throw their servers.

No, that's wrong, Cartman. But don't worry, there are no stupid answers, just stupid people.
Well of course! And there would still be Watchers, too. :)
He could pick up whatever name he wants later on, like Spike did (IIRC).
And since he would be around in modern times, I doubt he'd be a "cave
vampire". I mean, after all, Angel doesn't look or sound like an 18th
century Irishman anymore, does he?

yes but neither part was that major of a role. Curry seems to be a major
player in this new series. if he is on buffy it's likely going to be
very scant
Scottish? DB's Irish accent is bad, but it's not THAT bad. :-)
Or maybe he's a fallen angel.

Eh, Quark was close to major. And at times the best thing about
DS9.

That I think is a certainty. I'd think that he'd be in either brief bits in
a couple of eps (if he's in flashes to the past) or in just one or
two episodes. I'm betting he's not going to be the Big Bad.
Sometimes Quark would only appear for a few minutes in an episode; sometimes
not at all. IIRC, when he was on Buffy, his part wasn't as big as it became
later.
Guy
The first Vampire, if it wasn't staked a long time ago, should by this
point in time be even more degenerate and less human than even the
Master or Kakistos. Anything that has been undead for that long would
probably have very animalistic social skills and I doubt if it would be
any real threat to Buffy, probably just a monster of the week.

From "Komarr" by Lois McMaster Bujold
To the contrary, DS9 was nearing the end of its run in the years that
Shimerman joined BtVS and Quark had long been established as a major
character by then. In DS9, as in all large-ensemble shows, there is
always variation on how much time the various characters get. In some
episodes, Quark appeared only briefly, if at all, in others he was the
primary character; the same can be said for the rest of the main DS9 cast.
Paramount and Fox cooperated with their respective shooting schedules
to allow the actor to do both shows; there were even days when he would
shoot one show in the morning and the other in the afternoon. It's not
unusual for actors to do guest roles on series other than their main ones:
during regular shooting seasons, ASH found time to do a Dharma & Greg
episode and SMG was turned into a rat in BBB to allow her to take a
week off to do SNL in New York, while Seth Green left the show in part
because of conflicts with the other work he was getting at the same time
he was a BtVS regular.
