The death of Buffy is a close second.
Which one?
-- Ken from Chicago
Mine is in Doppelgängland, where Willow stormed off after being called
"old reliable".
Willow: (holds up her banana defiantly) And I'm eating this banana.
Lunchtime be damned! (strides off)
Buffy: (goes after her) Will, wait. I'm really sorry...
Willow: (interrupts, chiding gently) Buff, I'm storming off. It doesn't
really work if you come with me.
Buffy: (chastened) Oh.
The one in Something Blue with Giles getting confused was also really funny:
Buffy: (Playfully) Oh.. stop..
Giles: Yes, please stop.
Buffy: Giles, did you see my ring?
Giles: Thankfully, not very well.
Buffy (all excited): Spike and I are getting married!!
Xander (completely stunned, barely able to get the words out): How?
What?!? How?
Giles: Three excellent questions.

I also like when they're talking about the wedding invitations, right after
she's gotten back from the magic shop, I'm paraphrasing, because I don't
remember the exact verbage, but I'm fairly close:
Buffy: "Do you want William the Bloody or Spike either way it's going to
look majorly weird,"
Spike: "Oh where Buffy gives it that touch of class"
Buffy: "What's wrong with Buffy?"
Giles: "Such a good question," sitting on the couch with a washcloth over
his eyes.
I have to split and name two, one dramatic and one comedic.
Comedic is easy. It's in "Earshot" where Xander and the Lunchlady
confront one another, Xander open mouthed, jello dribbling out of his
hands and the Lunchlady staring evilly at him while pouring a big box
conspicuously labeled "Rat Poison" into a pot.
There are many funny moments on BtVS, but that one literally (and I do
mean literally) had me rolling on the floor.
(Honorable mention goes to Joyce and Spike's living room scene in
Becoming Part 2. Both are sitting there in awkward silence. The camera
lingers just a bit too long, making the viewer feel awkward as well.
Brilliant timing by Joss and the editor.)
Dramatic is tough to pick. But I have to go with (at least for this
week, you'll get a different answer at another time) Tony Head's scene
in Dead Man's Party. Buffy and the gang have just shown up at his
apartment. He goes into the kitchen to get more snacks and you see him
let down his guard in private and waves of relief that Buffy is safe
wash over him. Superb scene.

My very favorite scene is when Giles walks up the stairs to find Jenny
Calendar, dead in his bed.
--
Reed
It has a lot of terrific one-liners, like:
Giles: Don't worry! I have more Scotch.
Xander: Can I be blind too?
--
CC
"All I'm saying is soulles Spike would have had me upside down and
halfway to happyland by now..." - Anya
Dawn: "I feel safe with you..." Spike: "TAKE THAT BACK!"
And when Angel comes in and says (paraph.) "Willow is...dead.
Oh, Hi Willow".
Then later: '...<gasps> Breathing, becoming an issue...'.
Jeeze there's too many to count - fav lines. It might be easier
to post line that are good but not my favorites, haha.

Xander shaking the cross like its batteries must be dead. Priceless.
Plus nearly all X/G interactions can be counted on for a terrific comic
line or two.
Giles: It's a trick. They get inside my head, make me see things I want.
Xander: Then why would they make you see me?
Giles: Right. Let's go.
Giles: Xander, don't speak Latin in front of the books.
Giles: She was truly the finest of all of us.
Xander: Way better than me.
Giles: Much, much better.
Giles training Buffy.
She gets blindfolded and has to throw a ball at Giles.
Giles thinks she's going to miss the moment the ball hits a wall, but stops
smiling when the ball bounces from the wall to his head.

Well just about any scene with Giles (We Brits have to stick together
you know!) and any a great deal of scenes with Willow, how about a few
examples..
1) Giles with Chainsaw (Season 4, the party ep - oh what was it called?)
2) Willow's 'I think this line's mostly filer' - In Once More With
Feeling, had to rewind several times to make sure I'd heard that one
right - comic genius!
3) Giles' demonstration in 'The Hush'
4) The British Librarian's awkwardness at being chatted up by J Calender
(Season 2)
Oh hell, I could think of dozens more, and only reason I'm doing so is
to put off doing my Differential Geometry homework, so I suppose I
should get back to it :-(
Regards,
oh, PS. 5) Giles taking on Willow at end of Season 6.
Right, done now :-)
> 1) Giles with Chainsaw (Season 4, the party ep - oh what was it called?)
Fear, Itself
Personally, I find it hard to top Buffy and the rocket launcher in
"Innocence".
"What's that do?"
Though the reappearance of Giles has to qualify as my favorite cliffhanger
ending.
Arnold Kim
I really like lines like the one right above, which mix drama and sorrow
with wit and humor. A great example of this is the Willow/Xander
confrontation in "Innocence".
"Remember the 'We Hate Cordelia Club'? Of which you are the treasurer!"
Arnold Kim
That episode has one of the most underrated lines of dialog in the series.
Willow: "Distract him. Piss him off."
Anya: "I don't know how."
Willow: "Anya, I have faith in you. There is no one you cannot piss off."
Arnold Kim
I loved how Willow tried to act evil, but fails utterly, and gets her hand
stuck while running through a girl's hair.
Willow: "Human?!! Oh yeah? Could a human do this?"
She screams at the top of her lungs.
Anya and vampire nods "Uhm, yeah, yep, I think so. I think humans can do
that."
Then Cordelia having the talk with Evil Willow about Xander. lol
As for dramatic, nothing beats Becoming Part II, and I don't think anything
ever will. I was totally unspoiled, so I had no idea what was going to
happen. I think I was still crying long after the credits stopped rolling.
Linda
perhaps my favorite funny line is Becoming Pt.1 where Snyder confronts
the gang in the cafeteria and after berating them declares "This is a
classroom!" to which Buffy replies "Yeah, where they teach lunch"
Of course, that scene also has Snyder asking Willow, who is on Oz's
lap if there is a chair shortage and she doesn't get it for a moment.
Favorite dramatic speech is Anya's in the dorm room after Joyce's dis.
her inability to understand death was perfec, as was Willow's
obsession with finding the right sweater.
Désirée - if the apocolypse comes, beep me
>>
>> Giles: It's a trick. They get inside my head, make me see things
>> I want. Xander: Then why would they make you see me? Giles:
>> Right. Let's go.
>>
what really makes this line sizzle is the brief pause Giles gives
while processing what Xander has said and the total change in his
voice for the last line.
Désirée - over analyzing... of wait, it's a newsgroup, that's what I'm
supposed to do
Several spring to mind:
- The "does it get any easier?" exchange at the end of "Lie to Me."
- Giles finding Angelus's "present" in his bedroom in "Passion."
- Mayor Wilkins walking into the library and threatening the gang in
"Graduation Day"
- The final fight between the Super Slayer and Adam in "Primeval."
- The "Angelus and Darla's vampire posse" march in "Fool for Love."
- "Walk Through the Fire" in "Once More With Feeling."
- Giles's confrontation with Dark Willow at the end of "Two to Go."
- the First Evil's "it's about power" speech to Spike in "Lessons."
There's at least two or three other scenes I'm tempted to include
(Jonathan's speech regarding his high school years, and Willow's
realization regarding the
"Cassie" ghost in "Conversations With Dead People," and the final
rally of the Council of Watchers in "Never Leave Me"), but I'm not
because they are a little too recent for me to throw in so soon. I'm a
sucker for the big dramatic moments like these, which is part of the
reason why I've been loving this season so much :)

from "Something Blue":
Spike, in the bathtub, sucking blood out of the "Kiss The Librarian" mug.
"I am a man, not a--- Ooh! Stop the car!"
That and the "paralyzing mucous" conversation is quite funny.
Giles: You're making this up, aren't you?
Spike: Maybe. <pause> But warn me if you feel a sneeze coming on...
A New Man also has that wonderful scene where Ethan emerges from the
shadows after Giles leaves, and just he's in the middle of the standard
villanous speech full of bluster about how the good guys are in for a nasty
surprise-- Whoops! There's Giles popping back in to see who's talking!
"Oh bugger." That one gets me rolling on the floor in laughter everytime.

Yes, those are all great. There is one other scene that cracks me up
every time I think about it, and I'm not even sure why - Clem saying "he

eh, I don't know the name - it's Buffy's birthday (6th season I believe)
- her and spike are sleeping together at the time - spike brings Clem to
Buffy's birthday - Tara (who knows Buffy and Spike are sleeping
together) is tormenting Spike about this other guy at the party.

One of my all-time favourites is from Reptile Boy, the scene where
Willow goes off at Giles and Angel for giving Buffy such a hard time:
Giles: She lied to me?
Willow: Well...
Angel: Did... she have a date?
Willow: Well... Well, why do you think she went to that party? Because
you gave her the brush-off! And you, you never let her do anything
except work and patrol! And I know she's the Chosen One, but you're
killing her with the pressure! I mean, she's sixteen going on forty!
And you! I mean, you're gonna live forever! You don't have time for a
cup of coffee?! Okay, I don't feel better now, and we've gotta help
Buffy.
Of course there's always the infamous speedo scene from Go Fish, and
any scene involving Spike is a winner, but for sheer power you can't
go past the scene Graduation Day part 2 where Buffy forces Angel to
feed off her to save his life.
The two that jump immediately to my mind are:
"Amends" when Angel goes to Giles' looking for help, and Giles' expression and
tone (and crossbow...) when he says, "I'm aware of that."
"Doppelgangland" when Buffy, Giles and Xander are in the library, thinking
that Willow has been vamped. The remorse on the steps, Xander shaking the
cross, and the "Oxygen becoming an issue" lines. Also, the continuation of
that scene with "Oh, right. Me and Oz play 'Mistress of Pain' every night."

...which nicely encompasses three hobbies in one!
No, I think "I can make a door" was the better of the two.
But to my mind the greatest scene, in a gut-wrenching way, was shown
yesterday in "Bargaining", where Dawn woke up and went to where the
Buffy-bot was closed down and recharging on the bed and snuggled up next to
it. So lonely and needing even that level of comfort.
That was the saddest and most emotional scene yet. Forget Giles finding
Jenny dead, or Buffy finding Joyce dead, or Dawn finding Tara dead or even
Buffy being dead: those were dramatic/tragic scenes.
Dawn and the shut-off robot was just so sad and pathetic and real that
it was just the best scene ever, all the better for being so played down.
I just hope Joss et al can do one better before the show ends.
Passion has one of my faves. Giles discovering Jenny. Gets me every time.
And I like Angel's voiceover when he's watching Buffy and Willow's
reactions to the news, especially when Willow starts crying. Man, I'm
maudlin.

particularly when Spike is making fun of Giles' accent and realizes he is

"Welcome to the nancy tribe!"

I love the comedy of Spike.
I lost it that scene when Buffy is about to shoot the principal with the
bazooka, and Spike tackles her,
they chase back and forth past the window, then principal looks up from his
papers,
turns to the window sees nothing.
From "All the Way" in the basement:
Spike: Feel like a bit of rough and tumble?......(Buffy's eyes go wide). You
know me, you, .....patrolling? Hello?
Buffy: Oh. I should stay. Maybe tomorrow.
Spike: Not like I don't already have plans. Great Pumpkin's on.
BTW:Ever watch what shows are on TV in his crypt?
The silent scene with Joyce and Spike.
All the women chasing Xander when the love spell backfires.
Harmony trying to act cool and choking on a cigarette.
Kate
That mummy hand was quite possibly the toughest SOB Buffy ever faced!
Heh heh.
1. In the show after "Passions" - when Giles is nearly killed after trying
to avenge Jenny's death. The scene of Buffy holding him outside the burning
factory make me cry every time.
2. Spike's reaction to Buffy's death in "The Gift." That was so
unexpected, at least by me.
3. "It's a big rock. I can't wait to tell my friends. They don't have a
rock this big." Spike, in "Becoming Part 1."
4. The scene between Anya and Spike when she sneaks into his room, "All I
know is soully Spike would have had me upside-down and halfway to Happy Land
by now."
5. In "Tabula Rasa" - when Buffy opens the door, everyone sees the
vampires, and they all scream. I crack up every time I see that in the
credits.
6. Buffybot's comments on Angel. "Angel is lame. His hair stands straight
up and he's bloody stupid."
7. Because I have to include something from Dopplegangland - Cordelia: "Do
I have something on my neck?" Vamp Willow: "Not yet."
8. Oz's speech to Willow while they're waiting in the van in "Innocence."
"Well, to the casual obsever, it would appear like you want to make your
friend Xander jealous. Or even the score or something. That's on the empty
side. See, in my fantasy, when I'm kissing you...you're kissing me. It's
okay, I can wait." Heck, I fell in love with him!
9. Oz's other speech in "Amends," after he has forgiven Willow. I can't
find a reference for the whole thing, but it's where he ends with "And you
got the Barry working for you." Can you tell I miss Oz - he was quite the
human.
10. Spike's speech in "Lover's Walk:" I may be love's bitch, but at least
I'm man enough to admit it."

The script, yes; shoot, no. Joss wrote a 2-hour pilot script a long time

produced because both ASH and JW have other commitments (Firefly, Manchild)

Sorry to "me too", but me too! That's my favorite scene in the whole

Well, I just went through 44 follow up posts on this. No one,
including Lord Usher, has mentioned what I consider the height of the
show, the most powerful emotional moment that also further developed
at least three of the main leads.
That is the whole scene with Buffy, Giles and Willow towards the end
of Faith Hope and Trick leading to Giles' "There is no spell."
It was that brilliance that allowed me to be an unabashed "mature"
adult fan when no one I knew watched the show and I had yet to
discover the newsgroup and thereby other fans of all ages.
A close second for me is the "Close your eyes" moment in Becoming II.

Didn't he say 'Barry' in stead of 'The Barry' referring to Barry White (the
music Willow was playing on her stereo to get Oz in the mood).

Those are good scenes. Two of my favorites are from When she was Bad, the
scene with Willow and Xander and the ice cream on her nose. Then
Doppelgangland, the scene where Willow comes in to the library after they
all think she's been vamped.
Scenes like the first one are probably why I was a Xander/Willow shipper and
why I hated the retconning of her sexuality. It has nothing to do with
being anti gay or anything of that nature. It just tends to spoil the
"awwwww" factor when watching those earlier scenes in reruns. Other
examples are the scenes of Oz watching Willow the first few times.
It's hard to have your heart go out to Willow when watching those scenes
again when you realize a few short seasons later she's reduced to making
sniggering jokes like "I'm a breast girl.... but then you knew that" in
episodes like Flooded.
For funny scenes one of the best was the ending of The Judge after he goes
through his dialog about how no weapon forged can harm him.
Buffy "That was then, this is now" while pointing the rocket launcher
The Judge (as everyone else dives for cover) "What's that do?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"There would be a lot more civility in this world if people
didn't take that as an invitation to walk all over you"
- (Calvin and Hobbes)
One of my favourites, which nobody seems to have mentioned yet, is the
impotence scene from The Initiative.
Jack Rudd - Spike and Willow in one scene, what could be better?
I remember at the time quite a few people hated that scene. Since the
attack was a metaphor for rape, they felt it trivialized it to then play it
for laughs.
Whether you liked it or not, it sure was one of the more memorable in the
series.

Well,"Ripper" was pitched as a "ghost story", so could be that the odds for
ever seeing "Ripper" remain the same whether Giles is alive or not.
There're powerful scenes that floor me, but it's the funny ones that are
my favorites. Thinking of the one in 'Lovers Walk' where Spike mugs to
Angel behind Joyce, pulling a Lugosi on her. Then there's BB&B and the
whole 'Got the Love, Got the Lo-o-ove' scene, up to Buffy being ratted.
'DGL' - vamp-Willow in good-Willow-drag being bored into a coma by
Cordelia's droning on....
VMacek, just scratching the surface
As many people have said, there are just many, many great scenes and
it's hard to pick one. I will say though, that my friend and I love
to sing Giles' song from 'Restless,' especially "try not to bleed on
my couch I just had it steam-cleaned..."
_That_ was one of the best scenes in all of Season 6. I particularly liked
three moments in the time loop- Buffy smashing Giles' glasses, Buffy ripping
the bell off the doorway, and Buffy crying in frustration.
One of the more underappreciated episodes of last season, IMO.

And Willow figuring out what to wear. That was cute.
But that's now my second favorite dramatic scene in the episode- I've come
to appreciate the scenes of Buffy dealing with Joyce's body much more.
Giles realizing what happened and coming up to hug Buffy is one of the
finest moments in the series.

I don't know... the pointy wizard's hat and cloak, opening day at the
Magic Box in (I'm guessing) Real Me, and the silent exchange between him
and Buffy.
For me, the big "Oh my God, I've got to start taking this show more
seriously" moment came in "Afterlife" - the scene in the alley with
Spike when Buffy finally admits that where she was she knew that all her
loved ones were safe, and that she was loved - finished/compete.

Xander moments. For the longest time I just didn't "get" Xander, but it
all turned around for me in "Hush", where he has just come in and
assuming that Spike has attacked Anya, and pummeled him for it only to
have it pointed out that she's alright. When he gets up and hugs her,
he stops for the briefest of moments, turns to Spike, shrugs, and goes
back to hugging Anya. The timing of that whole sequence is superb.
Another fave Xander scene is in "Restless" (one of my all time favourite
episodes ever) where he is in his ice cream truck with Willow and Tara
all tarted up in the back. They go to kiss and we cut back to Xander's
face for a full ten seconds - priceless.

The series of thoughts you can see passing over his face in those few
seconds is amazing, but my favorite of those is the moment when he briefly
looks up as if to thank God himself. A vampire, doing that. That's when I
became convinced that he was going to become human by season's end. (I
still think that's where his plotarc was originally headed, much like
Willow and the initial power corrupts theme. But somehow those got turned
into a soulquest and crack!magic. Where's a retcon when you really need
one?)
O yeah.
Just saw that one last night for the second time.

This was also one of several showings of "The Look." The Look was
first used by Spike as he was leaving during Buffy and Angel's death
fight in Becomming 2. He said, "My god, he's going to kill her." He
then gives The Look as he turns and leaves.
Xander gives it in Hush (in scene above) and Buffy gives it in I Was
Made To Love You. As Katrina storms out of Warren's house Buffy gives
The Look as she walks in.
Another near Look (and one of my favorite scenes/lines) is Anya in
IWMTLY when Spike comes into the Magic Box and isn't welcomed by the
gang. Anya suggests that they throw him through a window like the
robot did "because that was neat." She gives a modified Look --
pauses momentarily, turns and tilts her head a bit, smirks, slightly
raises one eyebrow. Wicked funny.

Faith, Hope and Trick: Giles (slyly) asking Buffy about the details
of killing Angel so he can properly perform the binding spell on
Acathla. Buffy finally tells them the truth and Giles then confides
to Willow that he made the whole binding spell thing up. What was
amazing to me was how well Giles detecting Buffy's turmoil about the
whole issue was presented. Well done.
Cheers,
Doug Fuller

Pretty funny. The humor has always set BtVS apart for me. I've seen
dramatic and I've seen intense and I've seen funny and I've seen
tragic, but I have rarely seen them used so well together in one
series let alone in one episode- as BtVS has done on many occasions.

Oz:"You ever have that dream where you're in a play, and it's the

"How special are we talking?"
"Well, you know, we're alone, and…we're both mature younger people,

Oz stands up.
"Where are you going?" asks Willow.
"No, I'm not going." says Oz. "Just a dramatic gesture. That's, pretty
special."
Willow stands up too. "Oz, I want to be with you. First."
"I think we should sit down again." says Oz.
They sit down. "Oz?" says Willow. "I'm ready."
"Okay." says Oz, "Well, don't take this the wrong way, but, I'm not."
Willow is a little confused. "Are you scared? 'Cause I thought you
had—"
"No, I have," says Oz. "But this is different. I mean, you look great.
You know, and, and you got the Barry working for you, and, and it's
all…good. But when it happens…I want it to be because we both need it
to for the same reason. You don't have to prove anything to me."
"I just wanted you to know." says Willow.
Oz smiles at her. "I know. I get the message." Willow leans over to
him, and they start to kiss.

Best line of Season 3, AFAIAC.
There are far too many great lines and moments to list, but I thought
I would throw in one of my faves that I didn't see. I've always loved
Xander's line (can't remember which episode)where upon hearing Buffy
talk about them being in a new kind of danger, he says, "As opposed to
the danger we're always in?"
Smaug69
Ah - gotcha. I was thinking the end of "Passions" was Angel watching Buffy
and Willow get the news about Jenny's death - but clearly that must have
been the episode PRIOR to Passions. I haven't seen those episodes as much,
because I find Buffy's inability to stake Angelus very frustrating. Even
when I see the reruns, I'm still rooting for her to take him out.

Xander has some of the most under-rated lines in the series. A couple of
other ones I really liked:
"That's something you don't see every day. Unless you're us." (It's the
way he delivers the last line)
In "Something Blue" - "Oh right, and you're marrying Spike because he's so
right for you."
"Generally speaking, when scary things get scared, not good" (from Dead
Man's Party).
"Cavalry's here. Cavalry's a frightened guy with a rock, but it's here."
______
Oh, and how can I have forgotten these from Spike:
"I want to save the world." The way James Marster's delivers that line is
priceless.
"A bear! You made a bear!"
"I would, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much."
"Oh poor Watcher. Did your life pass before your eyes? Cup o' tea, cup o'
tea, almost got shagged, cup o' tea..."
"Every night I save you." (Not funny, just wonderful)
__________
And Anya:
"Crap. Look at this. Now I'm burdened with a husband and several tiny pink
children and more cash that I can reasonably manage."
"I'm thinking of buying something very expensive. Maybe an antelope."
"I, Anya, promise to love you, to cherish you, to honor you, but NOT to obey
you, because that's anachronistic and misogynistic and who you do you think
you are, like a sea captain or something?"

You may be on to something, because the lines themselves don't seem very
interesting on the page. It's Nick Brendon's delivery that really brings
humor to them.
> "Oh poor Watcher. Did your life pass before your eyes? Cup o' tea, cup o'
> tea, almost got shagged, cup o' tea..."
Love that. The Buffybot's overliteral attempt at a knock-knock joke is
also hilarious.
Hell, sometimes one _scene_! There are so many moments in the series that
are simultaneously funny and scary or funny and dramatic, like Willow
confronting Xander about Cordelia in "Innocence," or Xander's killer clown
nightmare in "Nightmares". I haven't seen any other series or movie do
anything like that.

Oz indeed was cool. He had this great quality where much of what little he
did say was either clever and amusing or wise and insightful. I miss him.

*Both* of those scenes were in "Passion" (not "Passions"!!!!). Jenny
was killed somewhere in the middle of the episode. Giles tried to kill
Angel toward the end, and the scene with Buffy and Giles was right
afterward.

And don't forget Wesley's introduction to Buffy!
Wesley: Hello--
Buffy: (ignoring him) New watcher?
Giles: (rolls eyes, nods) New watcher.
Wesley: Wesley Windham-Pryce, nice to meet you-- (tries to shake her hand,
she just stares for a looong beat)
Buffy: (goes back to ignoring Wesley) Is he evil?
Wesley: Evil?
Buffy: The last one was evil.
Or his failed attempt to boss her around (the perversely perky inflection
on that work "cookie" is priceless):
Buffy: Whenever Giles sends me on a mission, he always says please. And
afterwards I get a cook-ie!
That one is definately my favorite, next is:
1. At the beginning of Innocence when Angelus bites the woman who rushes over
when she sees him collapse, and he drops her and blows the smoke from her
cigarette out of his mouth.
2. In Becoming 1, when Angel tries to pull the sword out of Ocathala the first
time and it won't come out and Spike says, "Someone wasn't worthy" in that bad
little sing-songy voice.
3. In season 4 when Spike escapes from the initiative and tries to bite Willow
and it doesn't work and they have that long, "Nothing like this has ever
happened to me before." And Willow is so depressed over Oz leaving that she
decides that it must be her and he says, "I've thought about biting you lots of
times...You were wearing that pink fuzzy number...I don't like to be all
obvious, fangs and all." Everytime I see it I crack up.
Even though season 4 in general was probably my least favorite season, I think
that there was so much Spike comedy.
4. In "Hush", when Giles tells Spike he has to go live with Xander, "No way
I'm sitting tied to a chair, while they shag three feet away."
5. In season 4 (don't remember the name) Spike is all depressed and tells
Xander how he wouldn't have even bothered to bite him before the chip and
Xander says, "Hey, I'm plenty biteable." Then Spike says, "Yeah, you're a nummy
treat."
6. In Beneath You, when Anya is in the Bronze trying to get that girl to make
a wish and looks up and sees Xander, "Oh, penis". I love that, classic Anya.
I'll stop now because it's becoming too many to list.
Laurel
Buffy: "Spike, have you completely lost your mind?"
Spike: "Well, yes. Where have you been all night?"
The Furies: "Mmmm...Angel"
Angel: "I'm not cheap, I'm old. I remember when a few bob got you a good meal,
a bottle, and tavern wench."
Not at all. I am right there with ya!! I love the morning after scene in
Wrecked. Spike delivered so many good lines in such a short amount of time you
almost can't appreciate them all the first time! That look on his face when he
tells her to stay because he's trapped inside until sundown...need I say
anymore!!
That was great, an easy second was in "The Yoko Factor", when the gang has
their big fight at the end. Giles is all drunk and stumbles upstair when
Willow yells something about Tara being her girlfriend. Xander goes, "Tara's
you're girlfriend?" Then Giles yells from upstairs, "Bloody Hell!"
ROFL!!! That was another great one. I think it need to jump to another thread
before I reply to every one!
But here goes, for now at least:
From 2x01, "When She Was Bad" I choose the final scene,
when Buffy walks into the classroom, not knowing how Willow
and Xander will have reacted to her treatment of them, and
fears the worst. And her friends remain her friends, and
do their best to make her understand that it is all forgiven.
That scene, for me, is not only a tearjerker (and I have
watched WSWB countless times), but it is also such an
important moment. It occurs in only the thirteenth episode
of the series, and the first of S2. It cements what had
already been a powerful bond. And it shows the depth of
heartful caring present in both Xander and Willow.
It's an all around winner. Throw in SMG's miraculously
beautiful smile, and, well, that's why I chose it.
You know, in retrospect, I don't think I would choose a
different scene every day/week/month. That scene from
WSWB stands out above the rest, even the climax of "Becoming".
It dislayed how warm-hearted the show could be, even (or maybe
especially) in an episode which highlighted how nasty Buffy
was capable of being. What a great episode. I think it's
time to go watch it for the "countless+1" time.

You know, something else occurred to me in the episode, Tabula Rasa. During
Doppleganger, Willow uttered the phrase, "and I think I'm kinda gay!" The SAME
phrase was uttered by her in Tabula Rasa. It dawned on me at that moment that
JW knew where he was going with Her Character early on. Probably a meaningless
revelation, but all the same, it's MY revelation and I'm gonna keep it. My
favorite scene though is still from Tabula Rasa, where Buffy and Dawn are
bickering and all at once realize, "Hey, we're sisters!" Just got to me.
