If you've ever seen the Rutger Hauer movie "Blind Fury", there is also
a resemblance to two brothers also named Lyle and Tector. Their last
name was Pike.

Could be. There's also the reference from WTTH:

There's even one of the trading cards that includes not only the line, but an
explanation that The Wild Bunch was "the first film to feature excessive
violence". (I haven't seen the movie, so I found that tidbit helpful. :)
