Aly? Like the threads far above say, she's smokin'. After

Don't know anything about this Playboy interview, but she did
reveal: she has had "sort of" lesbian experiences because
she has kissed girls "but really just to tease boys"; the transportation
crew on "Buffy" demanded to be on the set during
the kissing scene in the dream episode "to protect the
ice cream truck"; and that Alexis Denisof has the most
beautiful genitalia "in the world".

But Stern didn't want her at all, too boring and quiet, the real
focus was the dogfight between Howard and Tara Reid
over his repeated assertions that she is the most obnoxious
annoying talentless airhead in Hollywood, primarily due to her
behavior after the Grammys where she jumped uninvited into
Howard's limo and kind of attached herself to him
for the rest of the night.

Yeah, they finally convinced Tara Reid it's all good

Interesting salary details revealed by Hannigan: she got scale

Actually, I believe it was Natasha who only worked five days, which
makes sense considering how little she is used in the film and how much
Alyson is.

Natasha Lyonne, the fifth of the four American Pie girls. She had a

She's also the youngest of the girls. She's even a couple of months

Probably had no choice. When your agent schedules a publicity junket, you go

hormones) are just the audience that AmPie is trolling for.

What does willow have to do with a press junket?
If you read her interview in Playboy, you'd know that Howard Stern,
adolescent public masturbater that he is, is just her speed.
Lisa
>If you read her interview in Playboy, you'd know that Howard Stern,

Oooooookay, now you're not only insulting Stern, who, well, doesn't
care what anybody thinks of him, just keep sending the six-figure
paychecks please, but Alyson, who does not deserve that kind of
comment. You need a reality adjustment Lisa.
I'm not trying to pick a fight, Forge but how do you know what Alyson is
like in real life? I see her in tv or movies and interviews but I have no
idea what she's like as a person from that.
You gotta admit, a lot of her Playboy interview was more like Stern
interviewing a porn actress so why are comments like Lisa's undeserved?
Alyson kinda brought comments like that on herself.
Personally, I *like* when Stern interviews porn actresses but don't think
things like that do much to further Alyson's career as a serious actress. I
suppose it's great if all she wants is roles like American Pie's Michelle.

Agreed. If she's trying to not be typecast in Willow-esque roles, than she
ought to be careful about going to far in the other direction and ending up
typecast for only dumbed-down sex comedy type roles. It seems like she's got
a whole lot more depth and talent than that. Be borderline and sex-crazed,
fine, woo-hoo even. But just not in a wholly unoriginal and one-dimensional
way.

Cos it sounds like Dr Laura saying "You talked to Playboy about sex?

It is just as unlikely that you got a true picture of Alyson's character
from a Playboy interview which is best seen as part of the pre-publicity
for American Pie 2 as it is that you got a good idea of her from
watching her portrayal of Willow, and reading interviews that she's
given to Buffy fans.
And, since when did talking to Playboy get to be some kind of

I can't understand why anyone with an IQ over 90 would want to be on his show,
but that's just me.
So you're saying Howard Stern ISN'T an adolescent public masturbator? Would
Stern even CONSIDER that an insult? I'd think he'd say "Yes, I'm that and
more!"
And you're saying Alyson's PB interview isn't the kind of thing that would be
said on HS's show? Albeit, it would be mild compared to what goes on on HS'
show.
Lisa seemed to be colorfully stating facts. Just because people have a right to
talk the way Howard does, and the way Alyson does, in public doesn't mean we
all have to line up in lock step behind them and say "Aren't they wonderful!"
I'm sure Alyson is a fine person but I don't have to like and approve of
everything she does. And I don't.
> I can't understand why anyone with an IQ over 90 would want to be on

Unfortunately, because a lot of the same people who are going to go see "American Pie 2" and think it a classic are going to
listen to Howard's show. Trust me, a smart person *would* want to go on there, if only because it'll get butts in the seats (even
if they are moronic butts), up the box office on your movies, and raise your salary. Hell, if it'd get me more money, *I'd* go on
there, too.
TP
Lisa has a right to think whatever she wants of people. She didn't say Alyson
has no right to talk to Playboy or discuss her boyfriend's genitalia, she said
Alyson is Howard's speed. Howard likes graphic sex talk. Apparently Alyson
does too. Apparently Lisa doesn't. Lisa didn't say anything untrue or wrong,
or even anything that would hurt either of their feelings if they read it for
themselves.
IMO there is nothing wrong with doing an interview with Playboy. There is
something wrong with being gross, because it grosses me out. How's that? :^
No, it doesn't sound anything like that at all. She went a lot farther then
just talking about sex in general as you well know. If anything, it showed
Alyson probably has some exhibitionist tendencies.
>And, since when did talking to Playboy get to be some kind of
>crime which is deserving of Lisa's condescension?
Hyperbole much? No one said it was a crime. I don't know Alyson but her
playboy interview sounded like Stern interviewing a porn actress to me. So
if you don't like what Stern makes his living off of, you probably wouldn't
like her interview either. That's the comparison. I'm just saying I can
see both viewpoints. If someone thinks Stern is a "public masturbator"
(and a lot of people do), I can understand how they'd take Alyson's
interview the same way. Stern has gotten rich off of basically doing and
saying all the things that go on in a high school locker room. People are
simply attracted to the shock value or titillation factor, the "public
masturbation".
So you want Alyson to say to Howard "your beneath me"

Okay, I think you are out of line here.
First, why are you reading a thread about Alyson on Howard Stern,
knowing what Stern generally discusses on his show, if you are this
bothered about Alyson discussing sex?
Why should she be muzzled? She's not talking about it on the daily
news, she's not discussing it in inappropriate venues. She's
discussing it in adult sexually oriented forums like Playboy and the
Howard Stern show. And what does shit have to do with sex? And what
business is it of yours if she discusses her boyfriends genitals, I'm
sure if he has a problem with what she says he is capable of sorting
it out for himself.
A simple, "I think Alyson is wrong to discuss her personal/sexual
life" would more than suffice.

Not that Alyson would have anything to apologize for anyway, but
here's the context: Stern basically went up and down the line of
actresses and asked who they were involved with. Then he asked about
their genitalia (size, of course). I would say Alyson's response was
the best and simplest way to brush that question aside. If she didn't
answer at all Stern would have disparaged her boyfriend and bullied
her. Her actual response was that Alexis has the "best penis in the
world" in sort of a pretend-serious voice. Which is a ridiculous
answer, and resulted in the Stern crew doing much giggling. Alyson
didn't elaborate and they moved on. Earlier, Alyson said she was in
love with Stern so he would stop asking about her pushup bras. And
asked him to be nice to her.
If one *must* be on the Stern show (and Alyson must if she wants
promote the biggest film of her career and not get a reputation as
someone who won't help a film succeed), I think what she said was the
easiest way to get through it in one piece. She was just surviving
the interview. I wouldn't judge her based on it.

Too true.
And to be honest -- and please don't take this the wrong way, but hey, I just got up from a nap, so I can easily discount this
later -- can't remember where this comes from (probably from my cousin Laurie, who talks like Alyson talked, but in public
forums, mind you), unless you always have sex in the dark, in the missionary position, in a bed and have never *ever*
discussed or mentioned sex at inappropriate times, complaining about someone who obviously has a great sex life and speaks
of it only in grown-up magazines and on the Howard Stern show is kind of stupid. I mean, you know full well what's going to be
asked in a Playboy interview or what Howard Stern is going to throw at a guest. If you like Alyson, but don't want to hear or
read graphic sex talk, then don't go there. Just say to someone who can say "Oh, yeah, I've had my own share of silly sexual
hijinks," "Hey, Alyson spoil anything for the new season? No. Okay, then."
I think the main reason anyone has to complain about Alyson's sex talk is that now we have icky mental images of what Willow
and Wesley were *really* doing during those late night study sessions in the library. (Ruining perfectly good Watcher
chronicles, no doubt, the rascals.)

Well, some would say...never mind.
I was taking to extreme, the "let it all hang out" approach to interviews some
people take. To tell the truth, I feel she is violating Alexis' privacy, and
that bothers me above all. If he wants to talk about his own genitalia, let
him do it. Let Alyson talk about how exciting her own vagina is and what a
magnificent vulva she has if she chooses to. Now I could be wrong, and Alexis
could be on his knees begging Alyson to please, please, talk about his penis on
Howard Stern, but from what I have read and heard I get the impression he is a
shy and private person. It's not like she's dating Mick Jagger. When I read
this stuff, I feel badly for him.
>And what
>business is it of yours if she discusses >her boyfriends genitals,
She has made it my business by discussing it. She has a right to talk about
his genitals (as long as he approves it) and I have a right to say I find it
gross and beneath both her and Alexis. The Fifth Amendment cuts both ways, I
am afraid.

I find this interesting Marysia.
It's okay for you to tell ME how I should phrase things but it's not okay for

So Alyson is kind of stupid for saying it, I am kind of stupid for reading it,

Yup. ;P
Honestly, though ... I don't see anything she said as wrong, maybe because I was raised with a much freer attitude towards sex -
- that it's not gross, that everybody does it, and not to be too judgmental. I'd be more worried about what she said about Alexis
if it weren't for that if I were Alexis, and my girlfriend were about to be interview by Playboy, I think I'd spend the morning
beforehand setting up the do's and don'ts of what you can and cannot reveal to the nice reporter.
And just out of curiosity, did she actually ever say his name? I mean, I know, that sounds stupid, but I don't think that I've
seen the two of them mentioned as an item outside of Buffy fandom. In articles and interviews, she just calls him my boyfriend,
and I know for a fact they didn't say they were dating when Alexis was in that one issue of People magazine, because I
specifically remember thinking, "Are they still dating?" It just seems to me that outside of us, who really knows (or cares) that
the'yre dating? Their family and friends, maybe, but I don't think if my friends or, God forbid, female relatives were going to get
interviewed by Playboy, that I'd read it.
Or maybe I'm still all napped up and my brain's all fuzzy.
TP
My irony meter is red-lining.

Um... that would be the 1st Amendment. The 5th Amendment is the one that

Surrrrree. Alyson can discuss anything but let's put a muzzle on Rose or me
or anyone else who has a different opinion from your own.
Whether you like it or not, The Stern show and Playboy are public forums
just as this is. Stern especially is available to anyone able to turn on a
radio and the Playboy interview is available to anyone who can click on a
web link. You want someone here to keep their opinion to themselves but
heaven forbid anyone think someone's personal sexual habits are best kept
private.

Oh, come on. I'd wager a good portion of Playboy's web traffic are
adolescents. Not that many adolescents can afford $100-200 athletic shoes
either but somehow they seem to manage. :)

Again, AH probably had no choice but to do Stern's show. AmPie2 is aimed at
Stern's audience, and her success as a commercial actress (which is important if
you want to be able to afford to do your own projects down the line) depends on
the success of her movies, hence the extensive press junket.

No, but a contract helps a lot. . .
No one is claiming Aly committed any crimes or did anything wrong at all.
It's simply a matter of what some regard as showing a little class or good
taste in public forums. I can't get over people who keep on saying, "but
it's Playboy, what do you expect?" as if that's some sort of private,
members only forum. It's public record.
I don't think there's anyone, fan or not, who'd say Howard Stern is a classy
individual. And why is that? It's for consistently engaging in the same
type of adolescent "public masturbation" (for lack of a better term) that
Aly decided to engage in.
The bottom line is, no one is trying to force Aly, you or anyone else to
adhere to any kind of moral agenda. But it works both ways, you know? If
she has a right to say and do whatever she pleases in public forums, others
have a right to disagree and find the behavior tacky and undignified.
That's basically what the debate in this thread has come around to. People
defend Aly's right to do and say what she pleases then turn around and say
others don't have any right to express an opinion about it.
It's a great big stupid party! Bring stupid drinks, stupid snacks, and we'll dance

Well what are you arguing? That Playboy markets to, or otherwise targets youngins?
The price tag *and* the material itself suggest otherwise. Not that I'm an expert on
Playboy prices mind you, so I could be wrong.

I'm just saying you're naive if you think the price keeps kids from getting
and viewing the magazine. Either the print version or the web version.
Let's see though. Adolescent boys, hormones raging, probably think about
sex and naked women more then any other segment of the population in
general. Playboy's whole success is centered around pictures of naked
women. Oh, hell, no. They don't market to kids any more then Joe Camel's
cartoon billboards did. :)

Yes she did say his name (I feel an almost uncontrollable urge to type
'bitch' especially considering what she was promoting).
I don't watch or listen to Stern, but I did download the Aly part of
the interview. The context was that Stern was going down the line
asking the girls if they were involved, and who with (and taking some
Gellar/Prinze shots when he reached AH). I think that actually grew
out of him needling Tara Reid about Carson Daly.
Anyway, he asked her who she was involved with, and she said 'an actor
named Alex Denisof'. Stern started to rag on him as unknown, when his
female sidekick (who is a big Buffy fan, and knows the shows better
than Stern) said 'He's the actor on Angel, you know, the ex-Watcher.'
and Stern said 'Oh yeah, he's okay.' He then asked what size and AH
responded with 'he's got the prettiest in the world' (as someone else
suggested, a 'kill the line of questioning without getting into a
discussion' response).
--
Ben: I wish it didn't have to be this way.
Dawn: And I wish you'd fall on your head and drown in your own barf.
I guess we're both going to be disappointed.
She did make a self-deprecating remark about her chest size in
response to a question about why she sometimes wore pushup bras.
Seriously, the Stern interview wasn't in the same league as the
playboy article. What she actually said, in response to a direct
question about it, was that her boyfriend had "the best penis in the
world." Which if you think about it, is a completely meaningless
comment. That's like saying someone has the best big toe in the
world. It's completely non-informative, unless you had some doubt as
to whether Alexis Denisof actually has male genitalia. In which
case, I share your shock and dismay.
But there was no further elaboration on the subject. Alyson gave a
dumb question a dumb answer. She has not gone berzerk and begun
testifying to anyone who'll listen about her boyfriend's primary
sexual characteristics. That remains isolated to the playboy article,
which I'll admit was a moment of debateable judgment.

(and you won't see me crying for Alexis)
Well, that does put it in a different light.
Still, I got to get my feelings about the Playboy article out of my system. I

No, they borrow dad's or steal it from their local bookstore. Having run the

By the way, my objections to Stern are NOT from his sex stuff (which is
incredibly boring after a VERY short time), but from the fact that he is an
@$$hole to everyone around him - including some of his staff - and is
abusive to them: NO-ONE deserves that kind of treatment, and people should

It was the tone. And it's not condescension; just the fact that the
AH who was interviewed in Playboy fits well with Howard Stern.

However, she has repeatedly stated that she doesn't believe in organized

It's not, federally. I haven't checked every state's laws, but it's not
illegal under California law either, AFAICT. My resource is the National
Obscenity Law Center (http://www.moralityinmedia.org/nolc/), which has
listings for federal and state laws.
In fact, in California, it's explicitly legal for a minor to own porn if
his/her adult guardian gives it to her/him (CA Penal code statute 313.2).
As far as I can tell, if a minor is caught with porn, there is not a
single law that he or she has broken.
Note that this is based on a general knowledge of the law and some poking
around on the net. IANAL.

She's technically *not* Jewish, because her mother isn't Jewish. Even
according to the Jewish sects which recognize someone as Jewish if
they have a Jewish father (which is nonsensical, of course), they have
to identify as Jewish, which Gellar doesn't.
She'd only be Jewish according to the Nazis, and we don't define
ourselves on the basis of what madmen and murderers say.

>Excuse me? SMG born Jewish, like Stern. Neither appears to practice.
SMG has a Jewish father and a non-Jewish mother. She never converted
and doesn't identify as Jewish, and therefore is not only a non-Jew
according to Jewish law, but even according to the sects that accept a
Jewish father as relevant.

Aly agreed to the Playboy interview and answered the questions
truthfully. Lisa essentially called her and Howard "adolescent public
masturbators." I care little what an actor is really like or what they
do in private, but I strongly feel nobody deserves to be insulted like
that. However as they are public figures it is your and Lisa's right
to do so.

lot of difference.

This is ever so true. I listen to Howard occasionally because he
really can be funny when he's not shrieking at his staff and calling
them all insulting names, or talking about the parts of some woman's
body... But I gave up for about a year after he spent three hours
berating John Melendez for some perceived slight. Howard, get off it
already.
Just curious but why do you consider that such an insult? What's a short,
descriptive term to describe what Howard does or how Aly talked in her
Playboy interview? Lisa engaged in hyperbole but it's not exactly
inaccurate.
This reminded me of the episode Earshot when the school newspaper editor
thinks Oz wants to beat him up for describing the way Dingoes ate my baby
sounded. "As if they had plump polish sausages taped to their fingers". He
says, "sorry , man". Oz's only remark is "nah, it's fair".

It's simple. You are here to defend yourself from whatever I have to
say. You are talking to everyone on the group in a forum where
response is expected. Alyson is not a part of this discussion and
neither her nor her boyfriend can say "hold on a minute there". This
makes attacking them easy and cheap (IMO). Maybe it's wierd of me but

Probably because they realize that lots of people with IQs below 90 listen
to his show. This is especially true of actors which are in movies like
American Pie 2 which is aimed directly at the sub-90 IQ demographic.
Or maybe, just maybe Alyson actually likes Howard Stern and thinks that his
show is funny. Stern has his moments when he can be pretty funny -- which
is really all that a drive time DJ needs to do to be successful.
Think about it. You're driving, you're not paying much attention, when
suddenly Howard says something that's really funny or outrageous. Now that
may be the only funny thing he's said all day but you don't really notice
because you're to busy driving and yelling at that soccer mom who just cut
