The (T.V.) Stars Shine Off Broadway
Photographers jostled for position on the red carpet last night at the
2011-2012 Lucille Lortel awards, the annual celebration of theatrical
achievement Off-Broadway.
Michelle Trachtenberg, of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Gossip Girl” fame,
presented the Service to Off-Broadway award to the Fire Department of the
City of New York. She apologized for her raspy voice when reading the
teleprompter, explaining, “You know it was Cinco de Mayo last night!,”
conjuring the somewhat awkward image of her keeping the beat along with a
mariachi band in Manhattan’s East Village until the wee hours.
