Definitive answer:
Her father -- from whom she has been estranged since her parents divorced
when she was a child -- is Jewish.
Her mother -- we're not sure. She may have converted or not. Apparently
she does not now consider herself Jewish.
SMG does not consider herself Jewish.

Great. You poorly recall something, then state it as a fact.
One person in the other thread vaguely recalled that her mother converted to
Judaism, then converted back; she was never Jewish as the conversion wasn't
sincere IF that's what actually happened.

Isn't that special. We have no "facts" about her mother, just a bunch of
vague recollections. We have the fact that Miss Gellar states that she is not
Jewish; neither was she raised Jewish.
But that fact she states about herself isn't good enough for any of you
obnoxious jerks. Until I see hard evidence that Miss Gellar misrepresented her
upbringing, I'll take her at her word that she isn't Jewish.
Thanks all for starting, what, a third thread to falsely proclaim she's
Jewish. I have a great idea: When the new shows come on in the fall, let's not
bother to discuss them! Obviously, repeated false statements that Miss Gellar
is Jewish is all that's of interest!

We are assuming that people accurately reported her own remarks in which she
explicity states she's not.
