angel in the "harvest"

ok....angels a vampie.And for the first time after seeing the ep. the
"Harvest"at least 5 times i noticed somthing.right before buffy goes to save
jesse when she's in that tomb thing.angel appears to warn her that she could
die.what i noticed is that angel was in the sun.how can he be in the
sun(without frying)if he's a vampire?did anyone else notice this or am i the
only one.(this is also before buffy finds out he's a vampire)did the show mess
up or did i just make a mistake?

vampie. I read somewhere, may be on this newsgroup, that originally Angel
was not going to be a vamp and was not intended to be Buffy's big love
interest, that fan support was so big for Angel they decided to give him a
bigger part and that was the direction they went in.

I bet they gave Angel a bigger part because if they had kept him as a
minor character that popped up to deliver bad news or advance the plot,
that's just too similar to the X-Files characters (ie. Deep Throat).
I don't know, that's just why I thought they changed their minds.

You never see him in direct sunlight in that scene. He is always in the
shade. I think Joss always planned for Angel to be a vampire. What
wasn't planned was for him to develop much past the 'cryptic guy' role of
the first season.

No, the whole "I don't bite" comment I think shows fairly well that he
was supposed to be a vamp. It really get sback to the whole direct v.
indirect sunlight question that's been going throughout the series.
Direct sunlight burns, indirect is just annoying.

There are tons of rumors about this one. I read an interview with
David B in which he stated that Angel was originally intended to be a
short-term character, but they brought him back due to a very positive
fan response. The first several episodes were filmed well before the
show premiered, so the most likely explanation is they intended Angel
to go away and never come back after Buffy learned the truth about him
in "Angel".
