Did you post it here or somewhere else? I see a fic request from you for
one that sounds like it on Dec 17th, 2004:
>> I've got an idea and I'd like to know if anyone is interested. And
>> if you're going to suggest that maybe I could write it myself, just
>> don't.
>>
>> Buffy is confronted by Spike and Angel and her friends. They want to
>> know what she sees in him, why she's with the Immortal? She won't
>> answer, but he does. SHe sees her future, an unending one. He wasn't
>> always immortal. He died, but his lover brought him back with an Urn
>> of Osiris. And since the old gods are petty they won't let him back
>> again.

But no story here in alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer.creative unless you posted
it under a different name. (You seem to stick to the same name
everywhere?)
And you don't seem to have it at TtH (which makes sense unless it was a
crossover):
http://www.tthfanfic.com/Author-1235/JasonBarnett.htm
And if this is you: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/75439/ it isn't there
either.
Do you have a title? That might help.

Wanted: 1 government, of the people, by the people, and for the people.
"Governments long established should not be changed
for light and transient causes"
The battle hadn't ended quite like they'd expected. Just moments after
Gunn had collapsed Illyria had completely ripped a demon apart. Not
surprising, until she'd reached into it's guts and splattered them
across the alley wall and smeared them into obscure, ancient symbols.
Suddenly, above them the sky had split. Massive tentacles had reached
down and virtually every demon attacking had been pulled through.
Illyria had then shut the portal by totally destroying the wall.
Spike didn't know at the time, but the Old One had used Fred's
knowledge and skill at opening portals to create that rift.
Now, Angel was with Faith and some kid named Connor(who was apparently
Angel's kid!) and a crew of Watchers in LA. He'd offered them whatever
they could salvage from the WOlfram and Hart building as a sign of good
faith. And Angel himself had stayed to make sure the comatose Gunn was
safe.
Illyria was in England, with Willow. THe Old One had tired of life in
a human shell and demanded to be returned to the deeper well. "When I
awaken again, perhaps this will be a stronger world, with beings
capable of holding my true power and worthy of my rule." Willow had
agreed. On the condition that Illyria help her restore Fred's soul
from the ashes it had been bured to.
So, he now found himself in Italy. Dining with his ex- Spike stopped
there. Ex was probably the best way to define his relationship with
Buffy as it signified that there had been something, but did nothing
more. And her current beau. The Immortal.
The Immortal had left the room to retrieve a bottle of wine and Spike
glanced over at Buffy.
"First the poof, then me, now the Immortal. Haven't you had your fill
of bad boys yet Slayer?"
"I am not a 'bad boy," the Immortal answered behind him. Apparently
millenia of life taught him how to be sneaky enough to slip past a
vampire's senses. "I am as much a champion as Buffy. And like her I
have been denied my reward." He kissed that SLayer's hand as he
approached.
"I was held hostage by you," Spike replied. "While you were screwing
Darla and Dru."
"Yes. That is the way I work. I have lived for millenia and will live
till the end of time perhaps, seducing creatures of darkness. I am
something rare to them. And endless supply of blood, as timeless as
them, yet I can step out into the light of days. You cannot imagine
the number I have turned against each other with a promise of myself.
And then I stake them at an intimate moment. Or throw them into the
sun just moments before sunset." The Immortal poured for all three of
them as he spoke.
Spike noticed something about his tone. "Slayer? Is he trying to get
us to feel sorry for him?"
Buffy laughed as she was drinking and began a coughing fit. "Snorting
wine. Not fun." She looked up at her current boyfriend. "Sorry,
sweetie. But I told you "I will live forever sleeping with incredibly
sexual women isn't going to garner a lot of sympathy as a sob story."
"Tell me something. If that's the way you work, then why did any of us
get out of town safe."
"I was visited by a Seer who told me of your approach. But that three
of you would be very important for the forces of good in the future.
But no one died in my town while you were there. Truly a great
accomplishment when facing the Scourge of Europe."

You posted it on July 31, 2005. I found it by going to
groups.google.com/advanced_search and entering the newsgroup name and a
unique phrase from the story. You'll find the comments there, too.
The story seems to have some interesting ideas.
