Winterfest Candle
Hello to our fellow tunnel dwellers,
Preparations are in full swing behind the Great Hall doors, and
your submissions have started to arrive. We have a long way to go before the
Great Hall
is bursting at the seams, so please keep sending us your
"personal touches" for our Winterfest celebration.

Remember, these suggestions just scratch the surface of
possibilities. The creativity of BATB fandom knows no bounds. Big or small,
polished or rough around
the edges, all submissions - no matter what season, language or
form - are welcome.
Certain activities, such as the Round Robins, have become a
permanent part of Winterfest Online. Another is the infamous TREASURE HUNT!

Looking for a fun and easy way to advertise it? Thinking of
building your own website? Wondering where to start? Be a part of this year's
Treasure Hunt.
Make it fun or serious, silly or informative. Share your
interest in BATB with the fans in this very unique way. Please contact us at

Are you working on stories or poems to submit? We'd love to
present them to the Winterfest guests for you. We do ask that the stories be
no more than 25,000
words in length. If you can't figure out how to make your word
processor give you a word count, you may want to try this tool:

Very little is more relaxing than sitting back and listening to
someone read aloud a favorite piece of poetry, an excerpt from a beloved
literary work
or the moving lyrics to a special song which brings to mind the
romance and ideals of BATB. The LISTENING CHAMBER is the perfect place to
share your favorite
selection by sending us an audio recording. Attach your file to
an email , describing briefly the contents, the credits, and, if possible,
including the
text, and send it to our email address found below. If you need

Remember: for this corner of our virtual tunnels we are not
asking you to sing or play. Here the magic of your voice is enough. However,
please feel free
to add background music or other sounds to accompany your
reading if you wish. Just a heads up.Winterfest Online will also have a
Talent Show, where we
will encourage you to sing and musically perform, live or
recorded if needed: look for more news about it in an upcoming candle, (but
you can start thinking
about it now!)
