And Nancy Drew, AKA Pamula Sue Anderson.

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.

Nancy Drew was Pamela Sue Martin, and was never on Baywatch.
My point was that there were characters on the first season that
disappeared when it moved from the network. I did carefully watch
the first season, picked at it later, and there was a message in
this thread where I didn't even recognize most of the names mentioned.

I thought that was Janet Louise Johnson? Or am I thinking of Janet
Julian?

Now I'm not following.
Pamela Sue Martin played Nancy Drew in the 1977 "Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys
Mysteries". Initially, they alternated, one week Nancy Drew, the next
the Hardy Boys. Parker Stevenson played Frank Hardy, Shaun Cassidy played
Joe. I mentioned Parker Stevenson (who's name was so much like
Jameson Parker of "Simon & Simon" that people seemed to confuse them,
just like with Heather Locklear/Heather Thomas)
Pamela Sue Martin went on to appear in Playboy, and went out on
the ice flow to save seals in 1978.
I've never heard of Janet Louise Johnson, but I see she did play
Nancy Drew in the same series after Pamela Sue Martin left (if I
remember properly, to do the Playboy shoot). Apparently Janet Louise
Johnson IS Janet Julian.
And of course, Pamela Anderson was the token woman on "Tool Time"
that was the tv show within "Home Improvement" before Debbe Dunning
took over the role, presumably so Pamela Anderson could do "Baywatch".

Exactamundo! Well, almost.
My understanding is that PSM left because they combined the two shows
into one show, and she hadn't signed up to be an alternating third lead;
she'd signed up to be the star of her own series. (I think the only big
flap from the "Nancy Drew Grows Up" pictorial was the Nancy Drew
copyright holder saying "Hey, you can't use that without our permission"
deal, same as they did with "Tom Swift Is Alive and Well and Making
Dildos").
The thing is, PSM has a long history of bailing on projects. Nancy
Drew, Dynasty, Hell, even that 13 week (?) celebrity track and field
show - Star Games? - where she was replaced by, IIRC, Morgan Britney,
which starts us getting confused with Morgan Fairchild and Morgan
Woodward.

And it's Pamela Denise Anderson (actually Pamela Denise Anderson Lee
Anderson Lee Anderson Rock Anderson or somesuch) so I'm guessing the
original was just a joke play on words anyhow.
