I was looking through some old photo-copied cuttings of the 1960s TVTimes,
looking at the Hendry series articles, when it occurred to me that I've not
heard of Ingrid Hafner (Dr. Keel's nurse/secretary, Carol Wilson) in
relation to any other TV or film except The Avengers.

Anyone out there have any idea what happened to her after she left the
series ? After all, she pre-dates Honor Blackman and Julie Stevens in being
the first long-running female character.

According the Rogers & Gillis Guide to the Avengers, Ingrid Hafner appeared in
the TV series Police Surgeon (1960) with Ian Hendry and The Main Chance (1969 -
1975). She also made a number of other TV appearances throughout the 1960's
and 1970's e.g.The Shadow Man & Public Eye, as well as two movie appearances
i.e. Bluebeard's Ten Honeymoon's (1960) & The Amorous Adventures of Moll
Flanders (1965).
According to the guide she died in May 1994.

Chris, if you still have that guide book handy, can you tell us what became of
that gorgeous blonde model who played Samantha in The Bird Who Knew Too Much?

If your talking about Samantha Slade then the actress was Ilona Rodgers, cant't
tell you anything about her from the guide because it does not go as far as the
letter R.

However, if you go to the Internet Movie Database website they do have a brief
resume of her TV/Movie career. From her TV appearances she appears to be still
be acting in Australia and New Zealand. In fact elsewhere I found a couple of
references to stage appearances she made in New Zealand in the late 1990's.

Hopes this answers your question.
