-A second season of Batman Beyond has been ordered.
-A cartoon based on the Legion of Superheroes has been planned for the next
season.
-The WB has picked up the 1999-2000 airing rights of the hit anime show,
Pokemon. Not only will it be on weekday afternoons, but new episodes will be
airing on weekends. Believe me, that is a good idea by Kids WB to pick up
Pokemon, since that is one of the best new cartoons this season.

More HDD. Yawn.

Can you say "damning with faint praise", boys and girls? Sure you can.
If Pokemon is one of the best, the worst must really suck.

Aw, c'mon! You can never have enough Hard Disk Drives! They just

Why do I find that so easy to believe??
>My kingdom for a good, funny cartoon series...
I reckon WB will have some for sale, cheap. In order to put Pokeygumb
and whatever other Great New Series on the their schedule, I assume
they'll be getting rid of some of those money-losing old albatross
flops like A! and P&^B.
(Act now, and they'll throw in their strategic ad campaigns absolutely free!!!)

Johnny Bravo. i know there's probably a lot of people out there who
think it's a dumb cartoon... and so did i before i actually watched it.
i think Johnny Bravo's comic timing, cultural references, and
psuedo-surrealism is comparable to that of Freakazoid, and even, to some
level, Animaniacs. heck, both Adam West and Donnie Osmond did cameo
voices in one episode, and that was one of the funniest eps i've seen.

Superheroes are as prolific as lawyers. And almost as annoying. ;)

But like many other highly praised cartoon series, it's on cable. Not much out
there for the people who can't afford special systems or devices.

New Pokemon? Goody! Hope they still have Team Rocket next season,
IhopeIhopeIhopeIhope....
Wonder which show they'll get rid of to fit Pokemon in? Hopefully
they'll do the smart thing and shorten the weekday Batman/Superman shows
to 1/2 hour. Honestly, they just don't have enough eps of those
superhero shows to be running 12 of them a week without rerunning some
of them to death. But watch Kids' WB not do that. 8-p Maybe they'll get
rid of Tiny Toons, since it's 1)Old, 2)Space Filler, and 3)All the
episodes are on another channel. *shrug*..

Of course the worst really suck. That is why they're called "the worst",
and not "mediocre". 8-)

Powerpuff Girls and the PJ's are doing it for me. Them are good shows,
sez I~

The "T" doesn't stand for "Team Rocket", but if it did, that'd be
cool...

No...the worst can be mediocre if the rest are best. The worst episodes
of P&^B are well above average.

Yes, but can Superman draft an Asset Purchase Agreement, complete with attached
exhibits and schedules? Nope, didn't think so.

Yick. Both these, and Johnny Bravo, suffer from the same over-stylized,
ooooogley character design. They may be funny, but I can't watch them long
enough to find out.

Actually, thanks to the "tiering" of cable systems, even those of us who
shell out far more for basic cable than its dreary offerings deserve can't get
*JB* or other "premium" offerings.
Can't speak for the rest of you out there, but the expense of things like
premium cable and the purported "mandatory" HDTV are more likely to lead to my
dropping TV altogether rather than shelling out more and more $$$ in hopes that
something --Anything!!-- might justify the expense. Besides A! and PatB
reruns, and the occasional "Law & Order" ep or AMC flick, there's just not much
out there I give a flying leap about. And do I care about them enough to shell
out $1000 for a new HDTV? Hardly.

And that assumes the cable company even carries CN at all.
Back to topic (EGAD!). So, if WB is dulling and dumbing down
saturday morning, where will the talent they are obviously not using go?
I do at least hope Wakko's Wacko Wish goes to theatre and WB finds that
yes it can do movie animation, as long as they remain WB and don't try
to play Disney's game (like in Quest for Camelot). And maybe figure out
that funny is good. Though by then it may be too late for them.
Given the fall lineup and February so far, it seems that at best
the WB flag is at half-staff if not in cold storage.
---
I may not like much of CN's stuff, but dammit they're trying at least!
1. What I wrote is not official just yet, as the announcement of the new season
is a few weeks away. However, as I stated in my post, this news came from Brian
Cruz's web page. Since his web page is one of the best pages to read about the
news of what's going on at Kids' WB, the stuff I wrote has a chance of being
true.
2. When I wrote that Pokemon was one of the best new cartoons of the season,
this was one of the things that I wrote that is my is own opinion. Obviously,
there are other great new cartoons that debuted this season, among those are
PEatB and H!. Thus, everyone has their own opinion on what is good and what is
bad, and thus, I felt that Pokemon was a good show.
3. As for time when it comes to the new season, I personally believe that there
would be room for another weekday show since TTA will be going to CN later this
year. While A! still being on KWB may be a big question, I am sure PatB will
still be on next season, though the idea of new shows, even if they are set
with Elmyra, is still up in the air.

We *had* a couple. Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain.

Heck, the only ep. of Johnny Bravo that I've seen is one where Johnny Gilbert &
Farrah Fawcett make cameos, so I can't comment the same way you can.
