Oog, I don't think I'll be able to watch A! on Nick. Not only did they plaster
thier ugly logo on the main title, but they shortened it, re-dubbed the
variable verse, and made Win Big a two-act episode just so they could squeeze
more Slime Time into it. Has Nick no shame? I guess it could be worse...at
least there was no Nick Tower. But does this mean that they'll never play the
cold openers? The format Nick uses reminds me of one of those clown shows
where they use cartoons for distraction... Animaniacs isn't a show on Nick, its
just something to occupy air time while they make more pies. Does anyone know
the precise reason Nick has it now? Why did Cartoon Network not want it
anymore?

Ouch. Yuck. But about as expected.. and suspected.
But what _did_ they do to the Variable Verse? As in, redubbed to....?

Nope. None at all.

That seesm to sum it up well. They use A! as mere filler. Savages.

CN is largely the remains of Hanna-Barbera. Thus they tend to go
toward the Hanna-Barbarian schlock.. and well, if someone outdoes them,
well, they have to be dealt with - relegated to other networks and
screwball time slots...

What scares me is the idea that Nick has ever rejected something,
That must be unimaginably rotten. I have seen one short that CN
wouldn't even put on the air for consideration. It was...
well, it was baaaaaaaaaaad. How bad?

Even Geena Embryo and the Hip-Hippoes are better than this.
Even Katie Ka-Boom is better than this.
Even Scoby-Doo is better than this.
Even Filmation.. well.. yes, even they did better.

Not that this was poorly animated, but the characters
were OOOOGLEY and the story.. well.. uhm.. blee, yuck.
Imagine Coll World. (Sorry if you can do that).
Now imagine it even worse. That's about it.
Go find the Pepto now... I expect you need it.

Now I am actually starting to fear the fact that nick bought the
contract to Tiny Toons. They'll cut so much....

The opening has been changed to...
(Orange Nickelodeon fullscreen starts to crack, and A! shield with YW&D
crashes through)
(redubbed voices, sounds like it is still Rob, Tress, and Jess)
It's time for Animaniacs!
(Switch to cast marching across the stage, switching again just before
the "Pay-Or-Play Contracts", with almost no regard for lip-sync")
And we're zany to the max!
(Now, it uses the shot of YW&D singing "We're zany to the max" after the
"And we're zany..." verse is done.)
Sit back and relax,
(Switch to the "Baloney in our slacks" scene)
You'll laugh till you collapse.
(Wow! Now we get the *Original* video and sound! Overhead shot of YW&D,
expanding to include the rest of the cast))
We're An-I-Maney, Totally Insane-y,
(Dub time again, with Dot in the "Shirley Mac-Lainey" Variable Verse in
front of an orange "Nickelodeon" crystal ball)
Nick-el-aney
(Back to *Original* video and sound! Yakko, Wakko and Dot in the
Animaniacs Shield)
An-I-Mani-Acs, Those Are The Facts!

Wednesday afternoon, they played the "Flipper" cold opener, and Newsreel
of the Stars has been done at least twice.

Also, Nick is not playing the same episode at 7:30am and 5:30pm (Eastern
Times). This week so far has been...
Mon. am (Cold Opening) NOTS/Dezanitized/Monkey Song/Nitey Nite Toon
Mon. pm (Cold Opening) NOTS/Yakko's World/Cookies for Einstein/Win Big
Tue. am HMS Yakko/Slappy Goes Walnuts/Yakko's Universe
Tue. pm Hooked on a ceiling/Goodfeathers: The Beginning/Wheel of
Morality
Wed. am Taming of the Screwy
Wed. pm (Cold opening) Flipper parody/Temporary
Insanity/Operation:Lollipop/What Are We?

...And now, it's time for "Good Idea, Bad Idea"
Good Idea:
A! at 7:30am does *NOT* have Slime Time!
Bad Idea:
Slime Time in the afternoon and trashing the opening.

And this has been... More Than You Wanted To Know!

.... First off, let me say, at least you CAN watch them. I have no
cable. Havent watched the beloved trio in over four years.
.... Now, lets not forget that Nick (and Nick Jr) are directed towards
KIDS!
KIDS are stupid, KIDS dont get the innuendo jokes, just put on a cartoon
and KIDS are amazed... right?
.... Thats not ME talking... thats CORPORATE AMERICA (ie: the
ADULTS)...
.... Yes, the ANIMANIACS are a "cartoon" but directed towards the older
high school/college age "kids". Not the little tykes w/ the dirty faces
and need to buy every action figure avaliable from all the
"Mighty-Morphin, Teenage Mutant, Dragonballer, Poke'mon Space Cadets"
that replaced our Animaniacs on the WB all those so many years ago.
.... So, please, dont be mad at Nick... Be mad at the WB for dumping
Animaniacs in the first place! Because KIDS (WB) are stupid, right?

Point taken.

Well it certainly used to be, but now it seems hat its directed towards
preteens, around thirteen or fourteen years old. I mean, that the age that
make pop groups so profitable, right? Ug, another awful thing about A! on Nick
is that right before it they have these "guest vocalists" on Slime Time... Pop
rip-offs groups with names like "A-Teens"... oog, they're scary. I'm careful
not to tune in to A! too early.

I'm tired of being mad at Kids WB. Which is now Kids Toonami, apparently. But
I have enough juice left in me to be mad at Nick for a while longer. :)

Hey, thanks for letting us know how they butchered the beginning. I
have no cable, and when I went to a friend's house to watch it when it
started, it turns out that they always watch DragonBall Z at that
time!!! I haven't seen it yet! I'm seriously considering getting
cable. Yes, because of Animaniacs. Plus, I'd get better reception on
local channels, and South Park. I don't really think cable is worth
the money when you consider how little I watched it when we had it.
Still, I'd get Animanaics!!! I will, however, see who I could get to
record it for me. Maybe I could find a friend who wouldn't mind it.
