Voyager Mission Operations Status Report # 2005-01-14, Week Ending January
14, 2005

Command Transmission & Verification Operations

Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a command loss timer
reset on 01/12 [DOY 012/0630z].
The spacecraft received the command.

Voyager 2 command operations consisted of the uplink of seven bracketed
command loss timer resets sent on five-minute centers using 0.5 Hz steps on
01/12 [DOY 012/0752z].

The commands were not transmitted due to a UPA/ CMG interface problem at
DSS-43 [DR C104117].

Sequence Generation Operations
Continue sequence development of CCSL B127.

Data Return Operations
Voyager 1 Data Processing and Operations:

There were 64.3 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 1 of which 8.3
hours were large aperture coverage. There was one real-time change made on
01/09 [DOY 009] when DSS-25 supported 9.0 hours in place of DSS-15 down due
to a red MASER [DR G102872]. The total actual support for the period
remained unchanged.

There were four significant outages all caused by rain over four successive
days.

The first outage of 1.0 hours duration occurred on 01/08 [DOY 008] over
DSS-15 [DR G105158]. The next outage of 1.7 hours duration on 01/09
occurred over DSS-25 [DR G105165].

The third outage of 1.4 hours duration on 01/10 [DOY 010] occurred again
over DSS-25 [DR G105173]. The final rain
outage of 1.2 hours occurred on 01/11 [DOY 011] occurred also over DSS-25
[DR G105178].

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this
period.
One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week.
The EDR backlog is 8 days.

Voyager 2 Data Processing and Operations:

There were 53.8 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 30.8
hours were large aperture coverage.
There were no real-time or schedule changes during the period.

There was one significant outages of 2.0 hours duration on 01/10 [DOY 010]
due to rain at DSS-45 [DR C104112].

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this
period.
One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week.
The EDR backlog is 8 days.

Flight System Performance
Voyager 1 performance was nominal during this report period.
Voyager 2 performance was nominal during this report period.
Activity included a PMPCAL on 1/11 (DOY 011).
