My DD just sent me this from the official A.I. website, showing the
number of posts currently on there, and I think this is probably a good
indication of just how popular the Top 10 guys are at the present time?

Some of you in the NG might be like me, and not check out the message
boards, etc. on that site, so I thought I would share this with you.

At the present time, this is how they rank with the number of posts made
for each:

Jason Castro – 3,231 posts, 71,003 views

David Archuleta – 2,219 posts, 32,922 views

Danny Noriega – 1,210 posts, 23,454 views

Michael Johns – 1,068 posts, 24,060 views

Robbie Carrico – 386 posts, 10,165 views

Luke Menard – 274 posts, 8,459 views

David Cook – 129 posts, 4,843 views

David Hernandez – 105 posts, 2,741 views

Jason Yeager – 7 posts, 159 views

As far as who has the MOST separate threads about them, it's Danny
Noriega.  He has multiple threads on each of the first five 'pages' of
the website.  There should have been one other guy there …
Chikezie.  Couldn't find any main thread about him in the first five
pages.

The Jason's are at opposite ends of the "popularity meter", which bodes
well for Castro, but obviously Yeager doesn't have a very big following,
or least fans that care to discuss him on the message boards. This can't
be good for Chikezie either, but DD couldn't find a main thread about
him.

Not sure WHY there is so much interest shown about Danny N.?!

She didn't send me the number of posts for the gals, but she is like me,
and are more interested in the guys....none of the gals have blown me
away with a outstanding performance, but maybe they will in time?

And as my DM Judy Haffner just posted, I did find Chikezie's thread.
Finally. It was on page 7 initially. Please keep in mind those
numbers are from this morning (Feb. 25) and only for the MAIN fangroup
thread for each person. I certainly had no time or inclination to add
up every thread on every person, lol!

Chikezie Eze - 59 posts, 2,147

And as further amusement to those on the boards here who do not dive
into the troll-infested waters of the AI official boards, these are
the fangroup names. Some are quite amusing. And my semi-proud moment
is that it was *I* who named the Chikezie Eze fans, though I am by no
means a fan of his. LOL! My suggestion for David Cook's fangroup was
beaten out by one single extra vote -- my own, in fact, because I
liked the other name better than the one I came up with (David's
Cookies).

David Archuleta - Archies and/or Arch Angels (male fans favored
Archies over Arch Angels, apparently)
Robbie Carrico - Robbie's Renegadez
Jason Castro - Dreadheads
Chikezie Eze - Eze Riders
Luke Menard - Luke Force
David Hernandez - Fanandez (sp?)
David Cook - Cookie Monsters
Jason Yeager - couldn't find a name
Danny Noriega - Danimals
Michael Johns - Aussie Posse

Oooh, and further amusement! We have two dictators in the guys'
group. Castro and Noriega. Get it? *G* Fidel Castro, Manuel
Noriega. I got such a kick out of that.

Hey everyone! We're not as pathetic as we might have thought. Here's
proof that there are folks out there waaaaaaaay sadder. Rest easy,
comrades.

As time goes on, I'll be going to the official boards less and less.
I'm a hothead, and all the negativity there seriously cuts my
enjoyment of the show. This is only my second full year watching, so
I'd rather be mindlessly entertained. I have enough reality in my
everyday life, lol!

Is there negativity on the official boards? I don't go there but I
thought those boards were policed and negative comments were deleted.

~laughs wildly~ Well ... it's a nice thought, but they only police the
boards for derogatory slurs against race, orientation, etc. and
whatever else may be deemed 'improper' under their posted guidelines.
But the bashing of contestants is already seeded and should be in full
bloom in the coming weeks. It just makes me weary, so for my own
sanity I leave the boards alone mostly. *S*

Er...and I wasn't laughing AT you. I was laughing because I was
thinking of all the flames and hate on there.

Trust me, Flk...the general discussion board on the official AI site is
BRUTAL! I went to it in S5, which was the first year for me to watch the
show, and I couldn't believe the ugly posts, ripping all the contestants
to shreds! I never went to it again, but would read the individual
message boards. There is some snipiness (is there such a word?!) going
on there too, but nothing like the general one. Our newsgroup is totally
TAME in comparison...even at it's most heated moments!
