This just blows my mind......I'm still in shock that telephones

Ok, now THAT was just cold. I guess you've stooped to an all time low now,
huh, Karrde? Oh well.
Why is it cold? You were complaining about all of the OT posts. I just
found it strange that you would bitch about that when you had just had a
long conversation about OT stuff of your own.
Gee, just when I was about to nominate deanna's post (which _was_
marked 'OT' by the way) for best post-finale thread. :-)
deanna, just ignore karrde's post, he was just doing the only thing he
knows how to do well - be a jerk.
Rocky, who directs karrde's attention to the below:
Possible responses by karrde:
1. A jerk? Why whatever are you talking about?
2. How am I a jerk?
3. I was merely saying it was ironic that she should complain about
off-topic posts when she just posted one herself.
4. Whatever. Talk to the hand.
5. Some other jerkwad response.
Corresponding rebuttals:
1. Yeah, right.
2. They'd have to invent a new kind of infinity to count the ways.

4. See response #4

Rocky again, reminding deanna of all the people on the group that sent
their condolences
I would love that. Someone who doesn't have to look all hoochy and dance
around. Just sit at a piano and sing beautiful music. That would be my
idol.
Now you sound like my mom, who just purchased her first cell phone. Mind
you, she can't work it yet, but she has it. LOL
I'm wondering if the whole music business isn't just too bloated with all
these singers who can sing, but who don't really stand out. I don't think
AI4 will be able to find someone who is truly unique.
This is, of course, just my opinion. :-(

Sorry, Rock. I don't believe that babying Deanna does her any good at all.
If she wants to rant about OT discussions in here, she needs to hold herself
to the same standards. I had no problems with the discussion of her cats
(though I chose not to read any of it), but when she tried holding the rest
of the group to a different set of standards than she holds herself I felt
the need to point it out to her. Believe me, I could have been mean about
it if I'd wanted to.
You got that right!

Perhaps it would have been better if you had used the phrase "deceased

Rocky, making it worse.
Hey, send a new picture to the ATAI Faces Page!

Deanna, you have missed the point. Why would you feel that your own OT
posts are somehow allowable while others' are not? I took a quick glance
through the referred thread and found nobody complaining about your choice
to talk about things that did not pertain to American Idol. Why wouldn't
you extend the same courtesy in return? Perhaps you felt it was okay to
talk about your OT things because they were very meaningful to you, but if
so, this means you have discounted the possibility that the other OT posts
that you didn't care for might have been similarly meaningful to the people
who were posting them.
I have nothing against someone longing for the posts to stay on-topic, but
to publicly express this longing a mere day after participating in an OT
thread that you yourself created is hypocritical.

I don't know if enough time has passed to see a real pattern; it's only been
three seasons. I really don't care if it's a man or a woman, I just want
someone who is really good to win. I had an interesting talk with some
musician friends recently. They feel that AI is really lame because anyone
with real talent is out there already, paying their dues and trying to make
it. They hated the focus, in the early stages, on the William Hung's of the
auditions. Some of these musicians (most of whom I really respect), felt
that this was junk and all about image. Talent had nothing to do with it.
I responded by saying that there was a great deal of validity to what they
were saying and I had resigned myself to the idea that fluff was going to
win over substance, but I still watch because its just plain fun. Plus, I
can retain my "Oh my, I'm -so- much better than this" attitude, since I'm
too old to audition. :)
Which brings up a question I've been mulling for a while...if you could pack
AI4 with already established singers so they could compete against each
other, who would you put in the top 12?

CONGRATULATIONS, fmomoon!
You are the new winner of atai's Miss Spelling contest!
Your winning entry, "definately," was definitely misspelled!
We are proud to announce that this year's new winner is not a writer, but a
teacher and musician of great aclaim!
For your extraordinary effort, you have won:
408374816847147818471 admonishments from Snooze-anne and Dan, AND an all
expense paid weekend alone with Karrde at Camp Wakalaka, located somewhere
in the hills of.....well.........somewhere......

"this message has been approved by Snooze-anne and Dan."
Eh, that's what spell check is for and it didn't catch it. Ah, well.
That is no excuse. The spelling of DEFINITELY should be second nature to
you, and should not require spell check!
pink
And you explain your multitude of spelling and grammar mistakes how exactly?

I love Josh Groban's voice, but I don't know if he'd have the charisma to
carry a win in an American Idol show forum.
> I loved Madonna in Evita but I don't care for her bump-and-grind stuff so
I'll leave her off the list.
Madonna has got the Fantasia factor, meaning she's got charisma and
likeability, but is her voice really that good? IMO, I don't think so.

And "synonymous" should not be spelled "snynomous," and "reflect" should not
be spelled "relfect," and neither should require a spell check.

Suzanne, you should remember that pinkaliscious is from a "major metropolitan
area" and, therefore, is given to Cosmopolitan spellings (as in drinking several

goody goody for me. ;)

Nah, she is still a mere runner up. I'd like to say ArcMan is the grand

close. But don't worry; you can still receive great "aclaim."

surprised by you trolling here or are you this way over there as well?

Have long been, not has long been, but I've put my red pen away for the

"Now, go crawl back into your isolated log cabin, located somewhere in the
hills on another universe." But, I'm not mentioning it.
Don't worry about it, Jonathan. I assure you, I am not upset. When anyone
opens that grammatical door about other's mistakes, I find it best to ignore
the posts, usually. But I guess I'm not from a major metropolitan area; we
only have about a million people around here. Mind you, they all get on the
freeways at the same time, but that is another OT thread. :)
You have a good point there, but I'd rather listen to him any day. :)
Yes, I do believe we see eye to eye on this one. LOL
He used to be just goofy looking (watch "Hello Dolly"), but during "Phantom"
he seemed to grow a little more polished. I enjoyed his voice in "Phantom"
but I heard him recently and was greatly disappointed. Proof, yet again,
that we all age.
I don't think so, but I've been in the minority before on this topic. I was
greatly disappointed in her "Evita." She simply didn't have the power I
associate with that role. I was used to Patti LuPone's brilliance, so the
movie was a real letdown in that area. Plus, I was enraged that "Another
Suitcase, Another Hall" was taken away from the role of the Mistress and
given to Madonna! That reminded me of "Yentl" where Streisand insisted she
be the only one to sing....and she had Manny Pantiken in the cast! Ego....
Quit misusing your apostrophes! Man alive, you are one of THE worst writers
on this NG.
--S.
I haven't seen the movie, so I have to ask, WHY WAS THIS?? When would the
uber-confident Eva EVER find a place to sign that song of loss and
insecurity?
Also, I didn't like that they wrote a love song especially for Eva to sing
to Peron. The song "I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You" makes it pretty clear
that it was NOT a marriage of love, but of opportunity. Eva sings ONE love
song in the musical, and that love song is to Argentina. So I was aghast
when I discovered that a love song had been added to the movie.

Dang it, I forgot Josh, too! Plus, he's really cute. Dang it!
I'm 51, by the way. I'll be 52 in November. :)

Fifty-One, Female, & Feisty
I had the chance to see Donny live at a Mark & Brian (95.5, KLOS)
Christmas show 3 or 4 years ago, and I was just blown away by his
performances. I have NEVER been a Donny or Marie fan, but I left the
theater that day with a respect for Donny's voice.
He was on stage with the likes of Kenny Loggins and George Thorogood,
and held his own with the audience. It was just amazing.
And as we left the Wiltern theater, all of us got 2 FREE CDs from
Donny. One of them was comprised of his covers of Christmas songs
and carols (as it was a week befor Christmas). So he is also a generous
person, in my opinion.

Oh, I know that. You've never struck me as the type of person to have her
feathers ruffled by someone like pinkalicious. Just between you and me, though,
I do feel a little guilty for toying with her. In many ways it's like making fun

I don't need to have the last word on everything either, unless it is
something I am interested in. I think this ng is different from most others
because it depends on a TV show that is only on for half the year. It is
kind of understood that people here are going to post off topic. I think
pink is more of a left of center person who is lacking common sense, and
that makes her look like a troll. She certainly believe the stuff she says

I think we may be the odd ones here, I think with Josh Groban one either
really likes him or one doesn't. As for looks; he's got this boyish charm.
I'm sure you can think of someone that falls into that category. ;)
It really depends what mood I am in to listen to him. When I'm driving at
night and nothing is interesting on the radio, then I will listen to him. I
only have two of his cds so I don't know about anything recent. I love his
