It was a body double...for sure, I work in the extras business and I know the
35 yr old woman who was turned down at first for being too old to do it (Dyan
is at least 57) but then was hired at the last minute and she had to rush and
get a blonde wig fitted.
So enjoy your dinner.

Isn't this in the FAQ? Does Mike Most know the answer?
FWIW, I don't think she did. Remember, Jake LaMotta's wife posed nude in
Playboy at the age of 51. So did Joan Collins. They both looked damn good.
From what I hear, of course. :)

Pretty nasty snipe there Ms. Nance. We had not heard of her conversion
and do not know what her beliefs are. But let us assume your information
is correct. If she did not use a body double, it does not follow that
she is being a hypocrite (someone who is pretending to be what they are
not).
1 - Maybe she is still learning how to apply Christ's teachings in her
life (not always a cut and dry thing) and is confused and made what she
may in the future consider a mistake. It does not follow that she is
being a hypocrite.
2 - Maybe she is not in full agreement with the prevailing opinion in
evangelical Christianity that public nudity of that level is always
sinful. There was no frontal nudity. This was an appearance only one
slight notch above a shower soup commercial. Justified by the story?
Some of the other posters (one who claims to have inside info) assert
she did have a body double. If this is how the script was written, she
may have had no say in what her character was going to be shown doing.
"More of a hypocrite than we all know?" Was there common knowledge she
was a hypocrite already? We are no special fan of Ms. Cannon. She is
doing a fine job in this part. You seem to be out for blood. Why the
innuendo? If there was no body double, is money the only explanation?
We think the benefit of the doubt is in line here. In this case, she
benefits from our doubt that you have any knowledge of her motives.

Hmmm, in just about everything Falwell or Robertson have written?

I know this response is kind of late (I haven't checked out the newsgroup in a
while), and the question has already been answered, but I just had some
additional info.
Other posters have stated it was a body double, citing Dyan Cannon's "born
again" religious beliefs. While I respect those beliefs, I don't think they
had anything to do with her possible use of a body double--she's used one long
before her conversion. In the 1971 movie "Such Good Friends," there was a
scene where her character posed nude for a photographer. The scene was shot so
that nothing was shown (rear-view waist-up, that sort of thing), but director
Otto Preminger included a close-up of the photo--a full-frontal shot combining
Dyan Cannon's head with another woman's body. I believe Preminger even made
some unkind, patronizing remarks about Dyan's refusal to appear nude--"Perhaps
she doesn't like her body," or something similar.
(On the other hand, in that same movie, Burgess Meredith had no qualms about
showing his 63-year-old butt...and unlike Dyan's "nude" scene in "Ally," he DID
look his age.)

I agree with the point you are making, but I'm not familiar with this
"shower soup" product; although I must admit I find the concept interesting.
What flavors are available? Vegetable Brief? Chicken Nipple? Cream of ...
no, I think I'll just let that one go!

But, is she a Falwellian or Robertsonian?
