not a stupid question at all, tho' i'm surprized it's not in the FAQ! ..
"bygones" simply means Richard is taking back something he said that he
probably shouldn't have said and would like for it to be instantly forgotten by
whoever he said it to... (but, Richard being Richard of course, is going to
say it anyway because he likes to shake people up!)

Bygones!"> ---> not an exact quote, but that's the idea!

C.13 - What does "Bygones" mean?
Richard Fish often uses the phrase "bygones". It is an abbreviation of
the saying "Let bygones be bygones" which essentially means we will
move on from this issue. Richard uses it to signal that the issue is
closed and he expects both that there will be no hard feelings and that
there will be no further discussion.
