It's just that they're not the names those women would want. Morgan is
super lame and doesn't fit Nelle's image or the one she wants to project
(cold, as perfect as she can be) and Christina Ricci as "Debbie" would seem
the exact opposite of a skilled, mature lawyer, especially when she is very
young and wants more respect. I thought it was funny.

I thought it was funny too.

Plus, Portia's real name is Mandy Rogers (Ted Casablancas is fond of using
her given name when talking about her), and I wonder if wasn't some kind of
fun reference to Portia's name change. That's the way I took it, and I was
rather amused. :)

Hmmmm......I can hear the drummer htting his tom and bass drums when
he hits
"d-bump...like the end of a joke....and maybe....Gee, I am really
searching here: MP--Morgan Porter......MP--if you had to pick a job
that Nelle could do? Military Patrol? Laugh with me, folks, I
couldn't come up with anything better at the moment....maybe had I
been given more time? LOL!!!!!

More to the point, what was the significance of Dame Edna's point that
"everyone has their secrets" which seemed in reference to Nell(e) and
Liza?

Its a subtle (or not so subtle) reference to the fact that the
"actress" playing Claire Otems (Dame Edna) is really a man.

There have been several comments in the past few episodes, such as
Elaine telling Claire to keep it "tucked in" before singing "I'm a
Woman" at the bar. :)

It is. I am absolutely serious. Dame Edna is a man.

Yes, an Austrailian actor named Barry Humphreys or something along those lines.

The actor is male....that being said

Of course there is a question on whether the Ally Mcbeal character Dame
Edna is playing is really a man... The guy the character wants to marry
is a bit...frooty to say the least.

Hey, I know this dude who dated her in high school. You'd think he
would have noticed.

Yep. I saw a fascinating interview with him. Got to admit, the guy CAN act!
