I am a little surprised that I have not seen a post relating to this
already. Maybe my news server has not updated recently enough.

I recall seeing the dancing baby but do not recall where. It seems that
there may have been some kind of turmoil regarding the baby as well. It
may not have even been a music video, maybe an MPEG or .MOV file.

TIA

The dancing baby was and .avi film that made the rounds on the Net
last March. Don't know where it came from before that.

I downloaded a short solo performance by the Dancing Baby way back in
August. It's a 24 second .avi of the Baby dancing against a black
background, complete with a clip of "Hooked on a Feeling."

He's developed quite a following - enough to attract the attention of
an Arizona newspaper: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jmhail/baby.html

That dancing baby came straight from the files that came with 3D Studio Max
by Kinetix. Even the dance motion is canned, one of the presets available in
the program. I thought it was cute but they could have been a little more
original and created their own baby instead of using the one from 3D Studio.
I even went back and loaded it up and had it dancing just like with Ally.

Thanks for the responses. I recall downloading it but probably trashed it
for disk space. Still don't know why I thought it was from a music video.
I got the animated gif version and will hit the other site(s) to get the
.avi file.

I thought the fact that it was the EXACT SAME creepy dancing baby that
is a minor cult character on the internet was part of the joke. At least,
that made the joke funnier to me . . .

BTW, for everybody who's asking, I found the ugachaka baby .avi file in
these two places (I'm sure there's more):

http://www.dancingbaby.com/mark/images/babycha.avi
http://members.tripod.com/~hamptonhighschool/ugachaka.avi

The first one won't play on my IRIX system (something about a compression
method), but the second one plays just fine . . .

and for folks on AOL you can find it in the software search under Dancing Baby-
the file's called UGACHAKA.AVI

:-) 20 minutes to download, a lifetime of fun.
