I know the answer storyline-wise (Edina got a new assistant), but is there some
behind-the-scenes reason why she didn't come back for LS?

I imagine she was filming [or onstage doing] "Little Voice" at the
time... though I'm too lazy to look it up and really find out. :) From
what I've read, it was a [leading] role written with her in mind, so if
that was the case, she could hardly turn it down. Besides, she may have
committed to LV [or something else] before anyone even knew there was
going to be a Last Shout. That [LS] wasn't originally planned by
Jennifer Saunders, but by Comedy Central.

I wonder [and hope not] if there was any kind of falling out
nonetheless. Also I'd like to hear more about what JH is doing now...
anybody??

I was travelling to the UK in Sept. of '96 and on the flight they had
several episodes of
"Mind the Horrocks" which was like a skit/variety show starring Jane. She
was a busy girl that year.
