(This is so delicious I could eat it with a spoon, though I actually
find the claims too incredible to be believed - I think Grimes has
worked in the business long enough not to pull these kinds of
stunts.)

Anyway, from The Post (http://www.nypost.com/seven/09152008/gossip/
pagesix/90210_girl_gone_wild__129095.htm):

September 15, 2008 --

THERE'S a new bad girl on "90210," and it's not Brenda Walsh, played
by Shannen Doherty, who ruled as the show's queen of mean during its
first incarnation. Doherty has since cleaned up her tough act, but the
new CW show's newbie, Shenae Grimes, who plays Annie Wilson, isn't
taking cues from her tamed-down predecessor. Show sources told Page
Six that Grimes was "tormenting everyone on set" and "acts rude to the
cast, crew and extras." Our insider told us Grimes even once yelled at
an unassuming guest star, "Who the hell are you?" and often spits out
comments like "This is my show - everyone else is riding my
coattails." In fact, the original series' divas are carrying the show.
Ratings plummeted from 4.9 million viewers in the first week to 3.2
million in the second week when Doherty was absent from the episode.
Reps for Doherty and Grimes had no comment.

Is that the new Brenda surrogate? Estes' daughter?

Yes. Gimes plays arguable the show's "main" character, Annie Wilson,
the daughter of Estes' and Loughlin's characters.

Grimes was previously a multi-season cast member of "Degrassi: The
Next Generation", and was a recurring cast member of "Naturally,
Sadie".

Like I said, she's been around long enough that I'm taking this Page
Six report with a grain of salt.

Ian (OTOH, Grimes is still young enough that I don't dismiss it out
of hand, either...)

It's Page Six. Everything Page Six publishes is fiction.

LORELAI: I am so done with plans. I am never, ever making one again.
It never works. I spend the day obsessing over why it didn't work
and what I could've done differently. I'm analyzing all my shortcomings
when all I really need to be doing is vowing to never, ever make a plan
ever again, which I'm doing now, having once again been the innocent
victim of my own stupid plans. God, I need some coffee.

No, it's "Darcy" from "Degrassi: The Next Generation". (And yes,
she plays his daughter).

She even comes across as playing the same character, even if the
name is different. Apparently the mannerisms we saw on Degrassi
are her's not the character's, because we see them again on this
new show.

How long until they spin off a reality show? "Catfights of Hollywood" or
something.

I'm not sure how much I agree with this.

She was an antagonist on "Naturally Sadie", which was a noticeably
different type of character to the others she's played (though, IIRC,
some of the same physical mannerisms were present).

I haven't watched D:TNG since season #5(?), but Darcy was different
than Annie - e.g. more 'toned-down' (Annie is almost over-the-top in
spots).

But, yeah, Grimes does need an acting coach to get her to overcome the
excessive eyelids closed and/or not looking at the person she's
directly talking to, and the excessive eye-rolling moments she has.

Most excellent point! Sometimes I think they just make up whatever to fill
column space. It's almost always anonymously sourced which would make it
wasy to do.
