the Camden house and its rooms

Hi,
I don't know if this has been discussed before.... :)
They are re-running season 1 (Europe) and I have been wondering
about how many bedrooms there are.
Very first episode: (Annies parents come to visit)
1: Mary and Lucy's room
2: Ruthie's room (occupied by Annie's parents)
3: Simon's room: he gets a bunckbed and has to share his room with Ruthie
4. Matt's room
5. Master bedroom
= 5 bedrooms
A few episodes later, Eric's parents come to visit:
Ruthie has not moved out of Simon's room, for no apparent reason!
So, her room is still empty.
The colonel and Ruth get the master bedroom,
Eric and Annie sleep in Matt's room (would be romantic, if his parents
weren't next door ;) )
Matt has to sleep on the couch.
WHY???
What did I miss.
Not to mention, that George sleeps in the bunkbed with Simon, and Ruthie
doesn't want to share a bed with him, and prefers to sleep on the couch with
Matt......

after the twins are born? I know the twins apparently have one of the
rooms.
Then don't forget later on they have the Attic (how long as this been Matt's
room, because I know Lucy & Mary change it up after he moves out.)
And of course the Garage. I am still confused who is living in the Garage?
This season they had that sit-in protest to fight over who gets the
garage.... but I don't see anyone living in there. ???

No, this is season 1.
When the twins are born, Lucy and Mary move into the attic to make room for
the twins.

Ruthie's kitty stuff is still in her old room, which is being shared now by
Robbie and Matt.

THEN!!! It was like this:
Twins were born
Mary moved away
So the setup was like this:
Parents
Ruthie moved into Mary and Lucy's old room
Simon still had his own room which was Matts old room
Lucy were in the attic
the twins were in Ruthie's old room
THEN!!! There's more....
Matt moved back in and so did Robbie. And later Mary came back...so here is the
current setup:
Parents
Lucy, Mary and Ruthie all share the attic
Robbie and Matt are in Ruthie's old room which was Lucy and Mary's old room
Simon is in his own room which used to be Matt's
the Twins are in Ruthie and Simon's old room that they shared in the beginning
NOBODY IS IN THE GARAGE!!!

But your last sentence still brings me back to my original question ... WHY
is nobody in the garage? :-)
They had this whole episode focused on this strike for the Garage, all the
Camden kids were fighting over who got to live here. I think I missed the
ending of that show, but the last part I remember was one by one they got
"voted out" and had to apologize to mom. I am thinking Ruthie won, but I
don't remember.
But now, no one is living there. Why are there all these doubling ups, and
even tripling up in the attic, when the room above the garage is there?
I was just curious if I missed an episode where they all decided that nobody
wanted the room? or if Annie banned them all from having it at all? :-)

entrance is still through a trap door in the floor. The walls haven't
been finished. Are there any windows? Is there a bathroom?

with pregnant Renae (and Happy eating dad's shoes) last night. In that
eppi, MATT AND SIMON shared a room! Simon woke up in the night and was
confused by Matt's absence (he was staying out all night at Renae's).
That would suggest that it is:
Mom and Dad
Mary and Lucy
Matt and Simon
Ruthie
So when/why do they make Simon and Ruthie roomates? It's not like there
ever was a "Mom and Dad, I'm the oldest, I need my own room" episode for
Matt in which Simon switched to Ruthie's room...

From your name I can only guess that you are German. So I want to tell you

Well... nice thought about the rooms, but I guess that it's really
unimportant... the main thing is: It was fun to see them sleeping in Matt's
room... It was waaaay better than seeing them in their own room talking
about the days happenings (booooooring)...

ummm, read the first post in this thread ;)
Ruthie moved in with Simon, because they needed room for Annie's parents.
That happened in the first episode!!
And there are still 5 bedrooms.
Mary and Lucy
Mom and Dad
two rooms that are connected with a slide door
and Matt's room
when you are looking at Mary and Lucy's room from the floor
the connected bedrooms are on the left and Matt's (later Simon's) room is on
the right.

But that conflicts with what I just said! If the Renae episode was going
to insinuate that Matt and Simon share a room, why didn't the 1st episode
say Ruthie would be moving in with Simon AND Matt? (Because that would
have seemed bizarre and the obvious choice would have been to put her in
with Mary and Lucy). The point is, there's no consistency in Season 1
about who sleeps with whom or how many rooms there are unless the Renae
episode is a fluke or there's some reason I don't remember why Simon has
temporarily moved out of his/Ruthie's room and into Matt's...
Maybe it's something Happy-pregnancy-related?
