Aack! I've had enough of that annoying brat Ruthie! Every episode she gets
worse! I was really hoping she'd burn herself with those sparklers.

Maybe we should start a petition to get her written off/killed off of 7th
Heaven. I still think a "trade" might be best. I have some ideas...

1. It is brought to the attention that Ruthie is not the biological child of
Annie & Eric, being that's she's obviously not totally caucasion. Thusly,
she is sent away to live with her biological parents in Mexico.

2. Simon accidently gives Ruthie to white slave traders, in trade for either
moon rocks, Tick comic books, or red lightning rings.

3. Mary & Lucy, eager to get out of the house, agree to take Ruthie with
them when Eric & Annie allow them to go to the drive-in. They are approached
by two "dreamy" boys, so they abandon Ruthie on the highway while they play
stupid games with these boys, like "fire drill" for instance, and when they
come to pick Ruthie up off the side of the road they realize that a) Ruthie
has been abducted, or b) She has been brutally attacked by wild monkeys, and
her face is gnarled totally beyond recognition so now they can replace
Mackenzie Rosman with a new actress (who isn't such a brat).

4. Ruthie attempts to kill one of the new twins, so Annie & Eric give her up
to foster parents. (this could be good, as Ruthie could return every year or
so to "seek revenge" on the Camdens)

5. In an attempt to strengthen race relations in Glen Oak, the Camdens
"trade" Ruthie for the Hamilton's youngest daughter.

6. Wilson knocks up another girl, and can no longer take care of Billy. So
the Camdens being the good samaritans that they are, agree to adopt Billy.
But it soon becomes apparent that having 20 kids in the same house is too
many, so Annie & Eric decide that "1 child has to go", and the child they
dislike the most is Ruthie, so she gets shipped off to boot camp.

Does anyone else have any ideas? Just whatever it takes to get her off the
show, that's all!

Hah!!! You too huh? :) I've thought that from the moment I saw
her.....I've stopped calling her Ruthie and started calling her
Half-breed......

A new actress wouldn't change a thing.

Calling Ruthie "Half-breed" is a good idea. Then she can be distinguished
from black Ruthie. (Sorry, I forgot her name. I just remember Patricia,
John & Nigel. Don't flame me.)

I may be wrong, but it seems that all the posters who want Ruthie spanked,
or gotten rid of are not Moms. I think she's a precocious little girl, who
knows a lot because she has older (much older) siblings. But knowing a lot
doesn't make her mature...she's the baby of the family (or was) which would
have just the opposite effect. I think she behaves normally for a child
who's been the focus of attention for 7 + years and now finds herself
playing second banana to 2 cute little babies. I thought Annie was just
asking for trouble by having Ruthie "entertain" the guests/parishioners.
No 7 year old should have that on her shoulders and no guests should ever
be subjected to that. To me that was the equivalent of letting your 3 - 4
year old answer the phone...something that absolutely infuriates me.
I thought the lady who took the sparklers away was more understanding than
anyone in the family (or this ng) has been.

Well... uhh.. yeah... You got me there. Frankly, I don't understand the need
to have Ruthie such an integral part of each episode. One or two small bits
about her being jealous of the twins would be enough, but noooo... we have to
get it crammed down our throats every episode now. They should take the lead
of 'Party of Five' in the past, where "Owen" was rarely seen, and often
omitted from entire episodes. Instead, they should give more air time to the
rest of the family. My opinion anyway...

I think it has more to do with the fact that Ruthie does something entirely
bratty and annoying in EVERY episode now, and she never gets disciplined.
She's allowed to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants, to whomever she
wants, and after everything is said and done she gets rewarded for it... i.e.
a "special day" with Matt, Emily offering to get Ruthie a "present", etc.
That makes it even worse. She just needs some discipline, as getting
rewarded for everytime she misbehaves is only going to make her misbehave
more.

Well put Brandon. And for the record, I am not only a mom, but before I was a
mom I was a teacher. And what they are teaching Ruthie is that misbehaving gets
you presents. No wonder she's got so many costumes!

I disagree. I am the youngest, too, and when I was little, I always wished for
a younger sibling to take the attention off of me. I think that Ruthie, like
all other older brothers and sisters, has to realize that she's not the baby
and she's not going to get so much attention. Also, after Ruthie has been able
to get off when she has been bad, the only type of discipline that may work on
her is spanking. How the Camdens go about punishment seems to be too easy on
the kids. They get grounded, big whoop. Ruthie get's to play with fire, oh
well, no biggie. Let's go yell at Matt for joining the army because he wants
to pay his way through college. I think these people need to get their
priorities straight, before someone get's hurt.

Yup ... believe me, I sure didn't mean to imply that I like her behavior. Her
not giving Matt his phone messages was another big one. He's a lot bigger man
than I am. I sure wouldn't have forgiven her *nearly* as fast!
