Hello,

Over in New York, a 16 year old girl named Daphne Abdela, the daughter of a
millionaire, has struck a plea bargain agreement in connection with the murder
of a 44 year old man, inside Central Park in New York, that she and her
boyfriend committed last year. Both Daphne and her boy-toy come from affluent
families, and yet possessed plenty of the rage and hate needed to participate
in this stabbing murder. Class and income is irrelevent when it comes to
experiencing the traumas in life that give rise to young teenagers developing
and possessing the rage and hate needed to commit murder. They were both 15
years old when they committing this knife killing, stabbing the 44 year old man
more than 30 times, gutting his body, and throwing him into a lake. It was
Daphne who ORDERED her 15 year old boyfriend, Christopher Vazquez, to: "Gut
him, because he is a fatty and won't sink to the bottom of the lake unless you
gut him". Hey, that's a pretty tactically astute statement for a 15 year
daughter of a millionaire to make. At least Daphne did not lead a sheltered
life, despite her familial wealth.

Daphne's plea agreement means that she will ONLY receive a 3 1/2 to 10 year
prison sentence, despite the fact that she absolutely played a significant role
in the commission of this murder. In court yesterday, Daphne decided to play
the role of a remorseful girl, in her bid for sympathy, expressing her
apologies to the family of the victim.

The two of them were arrested inside of the building where Daphe lived, down
in the laundry room, as they tried to wash out the blood of the victim, from
their own clothing.

Despite the fact that Daphne was and IS a minor, your pathetic society ios
treating both her and the 15 year old boyfriend as adults, and both will have
to spend their sentences in adult prisons. The boy could face LIFE in prison if
convicted. Your deranged society is perfectly happy to throw a CHILD. A child
that it responsible for having created, into a locked cell, for the purpose of
punitive punishment, for life. These FACTS are WHY Daphne and Christopher had a
100% legitimate RIGHT to kill. The perversity and maliciousness and refusal to
take any responsibility for your own GUILT, as a society, in FAILING to provide
for the needs of children, gives those children an absolute right to kill. No
matter what they do, no individual killer can ever hope to be as perverse,
immoral, unjust, and cruel, as YOUR society is.

Take care, JOE

Teen girl pleads guilty in Central Park slaying

March 11, 1998

By Samuel Maull, Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) — A millionaire's teen-age daughter pleaded guilty today to
manslaughter, admitting she helped her young boyfriend attack a drinking buddy
who was found stabbed to death in Central Park.

The plea bargain promises 16-year-old Daphne Abdela a sentence of three and
one-third to 10 years. She could have faced a life sentence if she had been
convicted of second-degree murder.

Prosecutors declined to say whether Miss Abdela, daughter of a prosperous
businessman, had agreed to testify against co-defendant Christopher Vasquez,
also 16, as part of the deal. Her lawyer said testimony was not part of the
agreement. Miss Abdela has implicated him previously in statements to police.

The baby-faced teens were accused of murdering Michael McMorrow, 44, last May
after a night of partying in the park's Strawberry Fields section. McMorrow, a
real estate agent, was stabbed 30 times, and his body gutted and dumped into a
lake.

As she entered her plea, Miss Abdela told the court she participated in the
assault that ended in McMorrow's death. She says she struck McMorrow and he
fell to the ground, and she then saw Vasquez pull a knife and stab him.

She apologized to the victim's family and her own, thanking her parents, who
were present, for their support.

She did not mention any motive. Her lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, told the court he
had considered using his client's alcohol intoxication as a defense, but
decided it wouldn't be effective.

Police allegedly found the pair washing the victim's blood off in a laundry
room at the Abdelas' posh Upper West Side apartment building, where the
neighbors include opera star Kathleen Battle.

Miss Abdela had blamed the killing solely on Vasquez, a working-class former
altar boy, suggesting he might have flown into a jealous rage over her
friendship with the older man, whom she met at an alcohol rehabilitation class.

The girl did acknowledge telling Vasquez to "gut him so he'll sink.''

Teen in Plea Bargain Over Central Park Killing

March 11, 1998

Reuters

NEW YORK — The 15-year-old daughter of an affluent Manhattan couple pleaded
guilty to manslaughter Wednesday in the brutal killing of a man in Central Park
last May.

But under the plea agreement with prosecutors, Daphne Abdela will not testify
against her teen-age boyfriend who was her alleged accomplice in the death of
real estate agent Michael McMorrow, who was stabbed 30 times and dumped in a
lake in the park.

Abdela and and Christopher Vasquez, who was also 15 at the time of the crime,
were accused of stabbing McMorrow, 44, in the neck, face and chest May 23 and
dumping the body. Police said the teen-agers had been drinking with the man on
the night of the murder.

In a statement Wednesday to Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Michael Corriero,
Abdela said that she had participated in the assault that caused McMorrow's
death. She said she was "not certain'' what caused a fight between McMorrow and
Vasquez.

"I never intended for Mr. McMorrow to be killed and I am truly sorry that he
died,'' Abdela told the court in a quivering voice. She apologized to
McMorrow's elderly mother, his brother and other relatives who sat weeping in
the courtroom.

"I believe that nothing Mr. McMorrow may have said or done justified his being
assaulted or killed,'' said Abdela, who wore a white shirt, beige pants and a
bulky red sweater in court. Her hands were handcuffed behind her back.

Abdela's father Angelo is a senior executive of CPC International, a large food
service company whose brands include Hellman's mayonnaise and Skippy peanut
butter. Her mother Catherine is a former model and the family live in an
affluent part of Manhattan's Upper West Side near the park.

Abdela will serve a minimum of three years and four months in prison and a
maximum of 10 years, according to the plea agreement. When she is sentenced
April 2, Abdela will be credited with nine months already served at the
Spofford juvenile facility in the Bronx, her attorney said.

Had Abdela been convicted and sentenced as a juvenile for second degree murder,
she would have faced a minimum of five years to life imprisonment, to a maximum
of nine years to life imprisonment.

"I would hope that what occurs in this courtroom approximates what is humanely
possible as justice,'' the judge said. "A friend once told me that where
children are sentenced the walls weep. Today, the walls weep.''

Vasquez was still being held at the Spofford facility. His next scheduled court
appearance is March 31 but no date has been set for his trial. He turned 16 on
Jan. 1.

Abdela's attorney Ben Brafman said his client would not cooperate in the case
against Vasquez and would not testify as a prosecution witness.
