FLORIDA DEATH ROW PENPAL REQUESTS

PRESSLEY ALSTON I am a Hebrew - Mulatto 6'0" medium build, 170 lbs,
with a brown complexion and I am seeking for someone to help me speak
a new language. That language is hope. Others may not comprehend it,
but God understands it because this is what he wants to give us all.
Today's world alone does not understand such language because this
world has changed. If a baby comes from the west, they will understand
a common language. No matter what part of the world
they're from, the two of them will start to play together. They will
play together no matter what color or size they are. I want and desire
that same language with someone. Whoever it may be that will provide
this language of hope. Just as unity understands, compassion
understands and that's what all of humanity needs is compassion.
Moreover, If any of you are interested I believe I have a case to
bring to someone's attention because of the illegal evidence (see
attached) and malice of the prosecutor I opted to waive all further
appeals because of the malo animo, malicious abuse of legal process
and the malicious abuse of the state attorney. The courts are
deliberately keeping me out of their presence. I haven't been to court
in about seven months to see a judge. Besides, the county where I'm
from leads the state of Florida in sentencing individuals to die and
most lawyers seem afraid or unwilling to faithfully or adequately

armed robbery murder and I was offered life in prison. But I wouldn't
take it. So I went to trial, lost, and got a death sentence. The Death
Penalty is all about political gain. These prosecutors use it to
further their career. Only 1% of murder cases get the death penalty.
If you have money you don't even have to worry about it. If you're
poor, the state will give you a bum lawyer and there's no way to win.
My lawyer just laid down. But I really would like to find some good
friends that will be there for me, and help me out, maybe come visit.
I write poems, do hobby craft, and work out in my cell everyday.

ANTHONY LAMARCA I'm a Florida Death Row inmate with no one on the
outside at all.
I've been on Death Row 20 months (as of Nov. 1999) and I get no mail
or visitation. I've been completely ostracized by all familiars since
1995. I was convicted of the shooting death of my son in law in my
home. I'm 44 years old, 5'4" inches tall. I weigh 235 pounds. I have
salt and pepper brown hair and blue gray eyes...My chances of
surviving this ordeal are slim and I accept that. There is little
quality to this existence and prolonging it indefinitely is not a
thought I'm entertaining. I'm lonely and would like to correspond with
real people who have more to talk about than the weather and don't
mind sharing real life matters with one who has no life at all. I'm a
colored pencil artist and fair poet as well. My poetry has been
published by the National Library of Poetry, The Poetry Guild, and a
few other lesser publications. Mostly I do greeting cards, all
handmade originals, handmade envelopes; original poetry and drawings.
All commercial quality, done for any occasion, replete with recipients
name and appropriate poetry or prose for the occasion. I like music
and prefer classic rock and roll and contemporary country. My keepers
will eventually issue me a television when one becomes available, but
I don't have one yet.
They allow me one book per week from the library to read and 2 hours
outside recreation twice a week. The rest of the time I am confined to
my 9x7x9 cell. Needless to say my life leaves a lot to be desired,

most call me J.C. I'm currently on Florida's Death Row, my case is
pending appeals. Due to issues of a sensitive nature, and being
advised by counsel, I am unable to discuss the details of my case with

17th, 1991. I have no open lines of communication with my family -

people dies. My father doesn't acknowledge me ...my sister never
writes...I have no friends who write or visit me, except for a
catholic Bishop I've known for 13 years, and then that's infrequent as

been executed or
imprisoned in this country for crimes they did not commit. It is now
equally well known that in
recent years, more than 85 individuals have fortunately been rescued
from such injustices, especially
20 of them in the State of Florida. Such cases invariably disclose
government misconduct, the use of perjured testimony by questionable
informants, ineffectiveness of counsel or counsel rendered ineffective
by government tactics. Unfortunately such cases are rare and only
brought to light by the capture of the true perpetrator, the
recantation of a perjuring witness, the tireless efforts of a
dedicated competent attorney or the involvement of news media
programming. If ever a case existed that resembled any of the above it
is my case. If ever a case bears close scrutiny it is my case. If ever
a case bears the benchmark stench of questionable testimony,
questionable government tactics and questionable effectiveness of
counsel, it is the instant case, my case. Since the courts aren't
listening to my cry's for justice, I come to you and hope that you are
able to assist me by spreading this miscarriage of justice to any news

on Death Row in Florida for the past seven years. For a long time I
didn't want to write any pen pals, because I know how difficult this
kind of time can be - not just on the person in prison, but also on
anyone who cares about me. Because I'm on death row I know every
negative legal decision inches me closer to the end, and this isn't
easy to accept; and it was for this very reason that I didn't want to

is all of these years in a cage. I cannot describe adequately how
lonely this time has been. My family lives in Cuba, and I have no one
over here. I try to make the most of things by bettering myself both
mentally and physically - and of course I have other hobbies, but most
aren't practical because I'm locked up. I'm looking for a friend who
understands that I'm on Death Row, and that I cannot guarantee that I
will be legally victorious, someone who is sure they can deal with
such a situation, without letting it get them down - as I do not want
to burden anyone. I am looking for a person who is open minded, who

an unjust judicial system is trying to murder me. Sadists in uniforms

physical and mental anguish

sanctioned murder upon

saw that it wasn't good for man to be alone and created woman to be

STEVE STEIN Greetings. My name is Steve Stein and I've spent the past
nine years in a 7x9 cage on Florida's death row. For most of these I
didn't want to write strangers. I didn't feel that way because I'm
anti social, nor did I want to do the time alone. No, I avoided this
because I'm sentenced to death.
I really didn't want to drag anyone through that with me, and I have
to admit this is still a concern of mine as I write these lines. The
truth is that being sentenced to death means just that, and there is a
possibility I will be executed. That may not happen, and I'm certainly
hoping it doesn't, but I don't want anyone fooling themselves. I
bering this up so that someone interested in writing knows what could
lay at the end of the line. Personally I get more upset when bad
things happen to people I care about, than
I ever could about my own problems. I suspect this is probably true of
most decent people, and I don't want you to write if you know you
couldn't become close to me, and still deal with a possible bad end.
That being said, I finally decided to place this ad because it is
difficult living like this day in and day out, and it would make a
positive difference in my life to have someone I could talk to, and
ideally become friends with. For anyone interested let me say a little
about myself. I am 31 years old, 6'0, 175 lbs, blond hair / blue eyes.
I know I'm probably supposed to talk about my interests, but to be
honest I find that kind of funny. Don't get me wrong, there's all
sorts of things I do find interesting, and they provide many fond
memories, but the reality is that I'm not able to pursue much in here.
What I do now is a lot of reading - mainly non fiction, but I have
nothing against a good novel. I figured out a long time ago that while
they could keep me locked up, that didn't mean that I couldn't make
the most of my time. I feel I've educated myself over the years, and
while I'm definitely not a genius, I do think I can carry on an
interesting conversation with whoever writes. I'm idealistic, and
despite what goes on in my life, some of it obviously troubling, I'm
still concerned about events in the free world. Whatever else could be
said about me, I'm convinced that this is a good quality. Its somewhat
harder to define the type of person I'd like to write. I could just
say I prefer good people, but I suppose most of you bothering to read
this fall into that category. More specifically, I am looking for
someone who will stick with it. If for whatever reason we're unable to
get along initially - then fine, no hard feelings. What I don't want
however, is someone who just up and quits writing, forgetting friends
in the same way they might forget about last years fashion, or some
such. I'm not necessarily condemning such people, as I know how hectic
life can get out there. Many in prison would welcome such a
friendship, and a little happiness in their lives, for whatever length
of time - but that's not what I'm looking for. I guess what I'm saying
is I'd prefer a person with a mature outlook. I'm only 31 - young in
some eyes, even if it doesn't feel that way - but living like this
gives you certain attitudes that are anything but immature. I'd like
someone who shares that sort of mind frame. You never know how
anything will work out until you experience it, but ideally,
I just hope to find a person who will become a friend, someone I'll
care about, and who will do the same for me. For my part I'm a good
listener, and I would be there for someone wanting that - and really
most people could use a sympathetic ear, anyone reading this who
thinks I'm worthy of writing to, I'm willing if you are. If you'll
give me a chance to be a part of your life, I'll give you the chance
to be part of mine.
I can't predict how things will turn out but hopefully it will be a

prisoner is confined to one man cell 24 hours a day, unless the inmate
is summoned by prison officials, the medical dept., go to a one man
shower cell, recreation twice a week for two hours, or if lucky
occasionally recieve a visit. Day to day activities generally include:
talking, playing chess, reading, writing letters to whoever and
overworked lawyers. If the prisoner has the funds in his account, he
can buy a TV/and or radio, and to purchase canteen to counterbalance

heritage. I am very committed to fitness and health, and always have
been. Never have used drugs, drink or smoke-EVER. Birthday July 22 but

I've been involved in Asian cultures and families for 25 years and

In closing I would like to add... I am a straight forward and honest
individual with a great sense of humor and would like to establish
friendships with people who would be interested in having a loyal
friend for a long time. Race, age, nationality, and creed are not
important to me. What matters most is the content of the heart.
FRED WAY I am a white male, 54 years old, in good health except for
mild asthma and hear problems in left ear. Both medical problems
caused by problems associated with being in the US Air Force. I was a
college educated engineer and worked for almost 20 years in Aircraft
Navigational systems at the FAA and private companies. I am a devoted
Christian and would like to have a pen pal who is a Christian, however
I would enjoy writing anyone who enjoys serious discussion about
politics, religion, or engineering. My family believes in me, but
don't really write often. I've written several ladies for years and in
each case they met and married men who didn't want them writing

Gentlemen: I am pretty much cut off here. I feel like I'm in a forest

us an on-going appeal, its hard to keep a positive attitude when you
