Mary Krueger, 47, is being held in the Polk County Jail in Balsam Lake,
Wis., on $500,000 bond for the May 21 shooting of her husband, Roland
Krueger, 60, a dairy farmer.
She is scheduled to be arraigned July 26.
Two Osceola, Wis., residents, Charles Blanford, 36, and Sara Johnson, 35,
the woman who allegedly had sex with Roland Krueger, have also been arrested
and charged with attempting to prevent Mary Krueger's arrest.
According to Polk County sheriff's reports, complaints filed in the case and
testimony from a preliminary hearing, Roland Krueger had been paying Johnson
for more than a year to have sex with him. Mary Krueger found out about the
arrangement and confronted Johnson, according to court documents.
Krueger offered to pay Johnson $10,000 to come to their dairy farm the next
day and have sex with her husband. Krueger told Johnson that she planned to
take a picture and use it in a divorce proceeding, court records show.
Johnson arrived the morning of the shooting and performed oral sex on the
victim in the dining room, she testified. As the couple was finishing, Mary
Krueger emerged from the bedroom with a lever-action rifle, told Johnson to
move away and shot her husband twice in the head, Johnson told the court.
Johnson said Mary Krueger then coerced her into helping remove two
television sets, a drill and four guns from the house to make it appear as
if Roland Krueger had been shot during a robbery.
Blanford and Johnson were arrested July 1 in Polk County after they
allegedly pawned the television sets and the drill in the Twin Cities. They
may have been on the way to Kentucky to dispose of the weapons.
Johnson has waived a preliminary hearing and is being held on $10,000 cash
bond. No further court date has been set in her case.
Blanford is free on a $10,000 signature bond, is not allowed to leave
Wisconsin and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Monday.
