Over in Australia, 24 year old Richard William Leonard, who was convicted of
killing two men, has been sentenced to life in prison.
Richard killed his first human in 1994, shooting him to death with a high
powered bow and arrow! He then cut up the body and stored the bod parts in his
refrigerator for four months, before finally deciding to dump the remains of
victim #1. He then tied the body parts to heavy rocks, using chicken wire, and
dumped the four month old human body parts into the sea.
A few months later he attacked a cab driver, slashing and stabbing him at
least 37 times before slitting his throat. Both of these incidents took place
in 1994, when Richard was only about 21 years old. It would appear that
Richard made homosexual advances towards both men, and only when they rejected
his advances did he become enraged and slaughtered them.
A psychiatrist testified in court that Richard suffered from a severe
personality disorder caused by.... GUESS. Guess, you fools! It was caused by
severe CHILDHOOD ABUSE, of course! 99% of ALL violent predators who stalk your
world were overtly and severely abused as children.
In Leonard's case, his GRANDMOTHER brought home kittens and cats, mutilated
and abused the animals, AND TOLD Richard to do the same. She CUT OFF the EARS
and tails of the cats & kittens, then urged, encouraged, and ORDERED Richard,
throughout his childhood, to do the same! Richard's father CONFIRMS that this
is true, and that Grandma did indeed both mutilate and abuse cats & kittens,
AND literally FORCED Richard to commit these acts of animal torture &
mutilation, during his childhood.
Despite these FACTS, despite the fact that Richard was and is nothing more
than a CREATION of his pathetic society and the abuse and trauma that was
forcibly inflicted upon him during his childhood, the judge demonstrates NO
compassion, no respect and acknowledgement that Richard had a True Reality
RIGHT to act out violently as an adult. Oh no, he just throws Richard into
prison for the rest of his life, refusing to send Richard to a mental
institution, which is obviously where he belongs. AND refusing to accept ANY
responsibility for his OWN society having CREATED Richard, through the
childhood abuse and trauma.
You see, your society has no interest in truth, fairness, or rationality. It
refuses to accept TRUTH, and instead wallows in hypocritical and insanely
moralistic lies. Society ALLOWED Richard to be brutally abused as a child, but
society does not GRANT Richard the right to REFLECT BACK his own justifiable
rage & hate as an adult, through violence. How irrational and pathetic your
hypocrisy is, folks!
Anyway, another human creation of your society has been unfairly abused in
life. Not once, but TWICE. Your society allowed Richard's soul to be murdered
as a child, and now, as an adult, it has condemned Richard to life in prison
for doing nothing more than ACCURATELY REFLECTING the abuse & trauma that
Richard suffered as a child.

SYDNEY, Nov 10 (AFP) - A psychopathic double murderer who was taught to torture
kittens by his grandmother as a child was jailed for life by a court here
Monday.
Former abattoir worker Richard William Leonard, 24, was convicted by a Supreme
Court jury last month of murdering New Zealander Stephen Dempsey by shooting
him with a high-powered bow and arrow in August of 1994.
The court was told Leonard had cut the body up and kept it in a refrigerator
for four months before dumping the parts in the sea trussed in chicken wire
and weighted down with rocks.
Leonard had earlier pleaded guilty to the murder in November 1994, of
taxi-driver Ezzedine Bahmad, who was stabbed and slashed 37 times before
having his throat cut.
Crown prosecutor Christopher Maxwell described the murder of Bahmad as "the
epitome of evil" and called for a life sentence.
Both murders took place in northern beachside suburbs of Sydney, near from
where Leonard lived.
Justice Jeremy Badgery-Parker said when sentencing Leonard that "these two
terrible killings" had been committed because Leonard was aggrieved when the
two men failed to submit when he tried to assert dominance over them.
Psychiatrist Bruce Westmore told a pre-sentence hearing last week that Leonard
suffered from an extreme personality disorder and could best be described as a
psychopath.
Doctor Westmore said Leonard had told him how he had been encouraged by his
"disturbed and cruel" grandmother to mutilate cats and kittens which she
bought for him when he stayed with her during school holidays.
She had cut their ears and tails off and then encouraged him to do the same.
Leonard's father had confirmed the story, Westmore said, adding: "It may have
been in those early ages that he started to have an inability to adapt to the
needs and suffering of other living creatures."
The psychiatrist also told the court that Leonard was a homosexual who had had
a great deal of difficulty adjusting to his sexual orientation.
Leonard is the 13th person sentenced to imprisonment for life since new "truth
in sentencing" laws were passed in New South Wales in 1989.

Here is an updated article on Australian double murderer Richard William
Leonard. In my initial post to this thread, we learned about Richard's
childhood abuse, and how his own grandma taught him to be cruel and vicious,
by cutting off the ears and tails of kittens, then urging/telling/forcing
little Richard to do the same, throughout his childhood.
This interesting update does not contain any additional info on Richard's
childhood, unfortunately. But we do learn that after being sentenced to spend
the rest of his life in prison yesterday, 24 year old Richard took the time to
smile and WINK at the mother of Stephen Dempsey, his very first victim, whom
Richard shot through the heart with a high-powered bow & arrow back in 1994!
Yup, Richard turned around and smiled twice to mommy Lulu Dempsey. The second
time, as he was being led out of the courtroom after sentencing, he not only
smiled at her, but was careful to make eye contact, and then gave her a nice
little wink. Hey, there's no reason for Richard to feel ashamed or sorry for
what he did, which was merely to reflect his True Reality. And once the life
prison sentence was announced, he obviously no longer needed to try and act
solemn or contrite for the sake of the jury or judge, in trying to get as
lenient a sentence as possible. Oh no, once the life sentence was handed down,
Richard obviously chose to allow his true personality to come forth, and I
admire his decision to lower the mask of normalcy that your society tries to
force humans into wearing.
We get some typically moralistic and hypocritical comments from the judge,
where he justifies and rationalizes why he is deciding on a Life sentence, for
this obviously mentally disturbed 24 year old man, who was horrifically abused
as a boy. Naturally the judge used the excuse of the 2 murders being
"horrific", as justification for IGNORING the fact that Richard endured severe
abuse as a boy, and was only reflecting his own horrific abuse, when he
committed these two murders.

Killer winks at victim's mother on way to jail

The psychotic double-murderer Richard William Leonard winked at the mother of
one of his victims yesterday after becoming the 12th person in NSW to be
jailed for life.
"He took the time to turn around and smile at me when he stood up at the pew,
and he took the time to turn around at the door and smile and wink," said Mrs
Lulu Dempsey after her son's killer was led from the Supreme Court.
"I don't feel sorry for him," she said. "I think it just shows how his mind
works."
Mrs Dempsey had been at court last month when the jury returned its guilty
verdict. Leonard was convicted of shooting Mr Stephen Reginald Dempsey through
the heart with a high-powered bow and arrow at the homosexual beat of Deep
Creek Reserve, near Narrabeen Lake, on August 2, 1994.
The former abattoir worker later returned to the scene of his crime,
dismembered the body and wrapped the parts in two parcels. These were
concealed in his refrigerator for almost four months before being bound in
chicken wire, weighed down with rocks and dumped in Pittwater.
The torso washed up in December 1994 but the head and limbs were never found.
Before his trial began, Leonard pleaded guilty to the murder of taxi driver Mr
Ezzedine Bahmad, who was stabbed and slashed 37 times before having his throat
cut at Collaroy Plateau on November 18, 1994.
Mrs Halmi Bahmad, the sister-in-law of Leonard's second victim, shouted out
from the public gallery, "Thank you very much", after hearing the judge's
ruling.
Justice Jeremy Badgery-Parker said the seriousness of "the two crimes taken
together is such that no penalty would fit the case other than the imposition
of the maximum sentence".
He was satisfied that "in each of these two terrible killings" Leonard's
intention had been "precipitated by his sense of grievance when, using a
deadly weapon, he attempted to assert his dominance over his victim, only to
find that his victim was not prepared meekly to submit".
Leonard "reacted to the fact that Mr Dempsey did not yield to the threat and
satisfy the prisoner's ego by demonstrating his fear by flight" when an arrow
was pointed at him.
"The prisoner's reaction was to discharge the arrow at Mr Dempsey's chest with
no other intention than to kill him."
Justice Badgery-Parker said he accepted that Leonard, 24, of Balgowlah, was a
psychopath. "This was a man who killed for his own gratification for vindication of his own self-esteem," he said.

Hi Joe,
Er, the way it was reported over here in Ozland was that Richard had killed the
first victim as a result of the victim making homosexual advances to Richard.
The defence tried to argue provocation on the grounds that the first victim had
attempted to sexually assault Richard. My understanding of it was that this
defence did not get very far when considered in the context that the second
murder was apparently unprovoked. A judge commented recently that the courts
would not tolerate the so-called "homosexual panic" defence for murder which is
increasingly being argued in Australian courts. Australian courts also tend to
give very harsh sentences for the murder of taxi drivers - Australians tend to
believe that it is very unfair that some poor bastard ends up being murdered
when he's just trying to earn a crust.

As a psychopath Richard is an untreatable danger to society, and part of that is that he actually doesn't have a genuine problem with his own behaviours, as he's floridly demonstrated.
It is also far from a given that any of the advice he provided to his defence psychiatrist is likely to have been truthful, particularly regarding the factors which led to his psychopathy. As someone who was already familiar with serial killers he likely already knew about some of the factors which underlie their development, and shifting animal abuse to his grandmother, no matter whom may have backed him up verbally, is likely classical blame shifting.
You may like to consider the case of Peter Dupas and similar if you want to go down the road of who is 'mad' vs 'bad' because they're quite interchangeable, particularly at the murdered victim end of the equation.

Bring back capital punishment. The victims refused to submit so obviously the queer wanted to rape them. Why didn't he just go to one of those degenerate bars that the alphabet ppl have or to a gay dating site? His wife was convicted of accessory and sentenced to 8 years prion and served 3.5. The victims who did nothing to provoke the homosexual Leonard are still dead.

DENISE Shipley was 19 years old when her boyfriend Richard Leonard told her about the body he had put in the freezer.
The couple was at his Warriewood flat in Sydney’s northern beaches and the man in the freezer had last been seen alive just a short drive away at Deep Creek reserve, in North Narrabeen..
What Shipley was to do, or rather her inaction, would change the world of a girl she didn’t know, 14-year-old Diane Barrera.
And as Ms Barrera told Channel 9’s Murder Calls this week, Shipley had the power to prevent a second body turning up but she did nothing and so another man died.
Shipley and Leonard, who were madly in love, had met as teenagers at the Mona Vale Christian Life Centre and harboured secret crushes on each other.
When they met up again, Shipley had turned 18 and Leonard was a secret devil worshipper who had a fascination knives and bows and arrows.

The couple started spending time together and taking drugs, in particular amphetamines and LSD.
Shipley would later say she was attracted to Leonard’s violence and the couple loved Natural Born Killers, the cult film about two lovers who become mass murderers.
On August 2, 1994, Leonard fatally shot Stephen Dempsey with a high-powered compound bow at Deep Creek Reserve.
Initially, he had put Dempsey’s body in creek waters by the reserve, but he returned and dismembered it.
He ferried the body parts back to his Warriewood unit on the back of his motorbike and put them in the refrigerator of the Warriewood flat.
Stephen Dempsey was shot through the heart with a bow and arrow by Richard William Leonard who then dismembered his body and kept it in the freezer.
Convicted double murderer Leonard led away in handcuffs.
Richard William Leonard was a psychopath who mutilated animals.
Richard Leonard and Denise Shipley were lovers and drug takers before he killed two people and they disposed of the bodies.
When he told Shipley “there’s a man in the refrigerator”, her response was not to say much.
But she didn’t disbelieve him.
In a secretly recorded conversation later in jail, Leonard would tell a cellmate about how during the four months he kept Mr Dempsey’s remains in the freezer he would take them out to play.
“You know sometimes when I got, when I got bored ... I’d bring him out and roll his head across the floor and bring his arms out and try to stick his arms and play jigsaws,” Leonard said.
“Denise sort of sat there. She was completely freaked out. Jesus, she couldn’t cope. She couldn’t cope, she just freaked.”
But she was not “freaked” enough to leave or tell the police. She kept quiet, leaving Leonard to kill again.
It was November 18, 1994, and Shipley and Leonard again bought drugs - confetti impregnated with LSD, known as microdots.
In the afternoon, the couple took a taxi to Collaroy Plateau, 7km from Leonard’s flat.
Migrant father of six Ezzedine Bahmad was the taxi driver and when Leonard took to him with his sharpened meat knife, 42-year-old Bahmad valiantly fought for his life.
Leonard stabbed Mr Bahmad 37 times and slashed his throat.
Denise Shipley is interviewed by detectives about the body in her lover Richard Leonard’s fridge.
Murdered taxi driver Eddie Bahmad’s family are angry that Denise Shipley (above in a police interview) did nothing to prevent a second murder after learning about the body in the freezer.
It was later claimed in court that Shipley helped Leonard by trying to grab the knife from the driver during the struggle and turned off the taxi’s ignition, but a jury would reject that Shipley was guilty of the murder.
After the killing, Shipley helped Leonard get medical attention for a stab wound to his chest. Police questioned her at St Vincent’s Hospital about how Leonard was injured, but she lied. When Leonard returned from hospital, Shipley helped him dispose of Mr Dempsey’s remains at Pittwater.
Later, the couple discussed the idea of making a movie about the killing of a taxi driver.
And two weeks later, Leonard with Shipley’s help would dispose of “missing” Palm Beach man Stephen Dempsey’s remains, taken from the freezer and wrapped in chicken wire, weighted them down with rocks at dumped at Pittwater.

Weeks later Mr Dempsey’s torso wrapped in wire washed ashore, and police began investigating his disappearance as murder.
They started closing in on Leonard and by late April 1995, realising his arrest was imminent, Leonard confessed to his father.
Then he and Shipley took off to try to get married.
Bingeing on drugs, they lived it up in hotels in Sydney, dining out and drinking.
Unable to find anyone to marry them, Leonard bought two silver rings and they prayed and committed themselves to each other for life.
When they returned home, they went to the Christian City Church at Brookvale and told the pastor about the killings.
In police interviews played on the Nine Network’s Murder Calls series this week, Leonard boasts to detectives about his knife and telling Shipley about Mr Dempsey’s body.
Leonard: “My knife is very sharp. “I had a steel that I use and I always had my knife sharp. It was my favourite knife.
“And, it actually cost me $90 that knife, and you could get a tomato and slice it like a razor blade. It was really good.”

Leonard received two life sentences for his crimes, but Shipley was acquitted of Mr Bahmad’s murder and pleaded guilty to two charges of accessory to murder.
Mr Bahmad’s family were outraged by the shortness of her sentence — eight years, and she served only three-and-a-half years.
Mr Bahmad’s daughter Diane Barrera described how her father’s murder had torn a whole in her life, and her family’s lives.
She blamed Shipley for not going to the authorities after Leonard revealed there was a man’s body in the freezer.
She described her father as a wonderful man, whose murder had left a terrible loss that could not be replaced.
“He was so kind and so considerate and he really loved being around people, but his biggest passion was his family,” Ms Barrera said.
At Leonard’s murder trial, forensic psychiatrist Bruce Westmore described the killer as a psychopath whose own grandmother had encouraged him to mutilate kittens and had helped him cut off their tails and ears.
But DR Westmore also said Leonard had severe disturbances about his own homosexuality, “a very strong sadistic element to his behaviour”.
In the secretly recorded conversation between Leonard and his cellmate, the killer said, “There’s nothing better than seeing the complete look of f ... ing fear on somebody’s face, you know.”
