Herbert Baumeister. That's a pretty DISTINCTIVE name, for a TOP LEVEL serial
killer! And yet except for us MAJOR serial killing afficianados, Herbert is
ALMOST unknown among the general public of amerikkka, outside of the
Indianapolis area. That is SO unfair, when you consider the FASCINATING and
PROLIFIC exploits of this married, WEALTHY serial killer, who harbored
homicidal RAGE towards GAY men, most likely as a result of feeling the need to
DENY and SUPPRESS his own homosexual cravings. A REALLY great one hour
documentary devoted EXCLUSIVELY to this case, has aired in recent months, I
believe on A&E, and I certainly found it fascinating, lots of unique details
that painted a portrait of this UNIQUELY enraged serial killer.
The owner of a LARGE estate and property in IN, Herbert LURED male drifters
to his estate, specifically targeting GAY men, and MURDERED them, It is
STRONGLY believed that he harvested at LEAST 16, which puts him right in the
same league as Jeffrey Dahmer & Dennis Nilsen, to mention just two top-level
serial killers who targeted gay men. amazingly. Herbert STAYED MARRIED
throughout his killing spree, and in fact killed & buried his victims right
under the nose of his wife, who has always claimed she had NO idea what hubby
was up to.
Tragically, soon after police began to DIG UP human remains on his property,
Herbert decided to KILL HIMSELF. Committed suicide BEFORE he could be arrested,
and so he has NEVER stood trial and been "officially" credited for his prolific
killings.
Even though a LOT of human bones were found on the estate, THOUSANDS of bones
and fragments, actual SKULLS were not found. Police have long speculated that
the LIKELY harvestee toll is even higher than 16.
We learn below that a HUMAN SKULL was pulled out of a lake located right near
a CABIN that Herbert's Mommy used to own. The skull is about 5 years old, comes
from a 35-50 year old fellow, and detectives STRONGLY suspect that this is
ANOTHER harvestee of Herberts! Of course determining with any degree of
CERTAINTY whether this skull comes from one of Herbert's harvestees will be
VERY difficult, if not impossible. I don't think it's likely that the REST of
the skeleton would be at Herbert's estate, since his modus operandi was
basically to bury the ENTIRE bodies of the victims he killed AT the estate, on
the estate grounds. I can't see why he would choose to TRANSPORT a head to a
PUBLIC lake, located off his estate property, and dump it there. No, I think he
must have COMMITTED this murder near the lake, if in fact this is his
handiwork.
So SAD, to think of Herbert NEVER receiving COMPLETE credit for all of his
kills. No DIARY or LIST of victims, was found by police, and he did not CONFESS
in a suicide note or anything like that. It's just sad, because a LIFETIME of
HARD, unique, historically significant work as a serial killer, deserves to be
ACKNOWLEDGED, in it's entirety. According to a gay fellow who managed to ESCAPE
Herbert's clutches, Herbert STATED to him, that he had killed 50-60 men! That's
HUGE, but how can we CONFIRM this?? Especially with Herbert NEVER putting
anything down in writing, before killing himself?? It's TRAGIC, to think that a
serial killer of SIXTY, is only receiving historical credit and recognition,
for serially killing 16, at "best".
From a tactical perspective, this case points out the ADVANTAGE to a serial
killer, of KEEPING most or all victims on PRIVATE property that the killer
owns, in terms of avoiding QUICK capture. Gacy did this, got away with 33+.
Herbert did it, got away with 16+. There IS a disadvantage, in that IF the pigs
DO manage to obtain a SEARCH WARRANT against the SK, he is totally SCREWED,
since it's almost impossible to "innocently" explain away the finding of 15-100
HUMAN BODIES buried or hidden on property that he owns. BUT, if the SK DUMPS
the victims in public, the odds are HIGH that they will be found, and
ESPECIALLY with the new DNA and other forensic advances of recent years, the
DANGER that the bodies could be TRACKED BACK to the killer, is fairly high. All
things considered, if an enraged societal victim is rich, maintains a
law-abiding public persona, lives ALONE and owns a fairly large &
private/isolated property, I DO feel that in MOST cases, if the enraged victim
decides to serially kill, there are MORE tactical advantages to KEEPING the
bodies of all victims ON his private property, than to dump all the bodies in
public places.
Take care, JOE

Skull may be victim of serial killer
LAKE WAWASEE – Police think they’ve found another victim in a Hamilton
County serial killer case. Police say a skull pulled from Lake Wawasee in
northern Indiana last month is not primitive, but only five-years-old. It
belonged to a man 35 to 50-years-old.
Investigators believe the skull may be linked to Herbert Baumeister, a
suspected serial killer from Hamilton County.
Police say Baumeister killed 16 men, most of them gay.
He committed suicide four years ago when investigators began unearthing
remains on his wooded estate near Westfield. Police say Baumeister’s mother
had a cottage on Lake Wawasee, close to where the skull was found.

Skull originally thought to be primitive is more recent

WARSAW, Ind. (AP) -- A skull pulled from Lake Wawasee last month that
originally was thought to have been primitive was actually in the water only
about five years, Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine said Wednesday.
Stephen Nawrocki, a forensic anthropologist with the University of
Indianapolis, estimates the skull belonged to a white male 35 to 50 years old.
Rovenstine said the department has no missing persons cases that fit the
description.
The department is exploring the possibility that the skull may be that of a
suspected serial killer's victim. Herb Baumeister, who police say killed 16
men, most of them gay, committed suicide four years ago as investigators were
digging up human bones behind his suburban Indianapolis home.
"We're just exploring the possibility it could be one of his victims,"
Rovenstine said.
Authorities said Baumeister's mother had a cottage on Lake Wawasee, about
one-eighth of a mile from where the skull was found.
A woman found the skull about 10 feet from shore while looking for rocks in the
lake and called authorities.

Skull Found In Lake May Be Murder Victim
By Ruth Anne Lipka, Times-Union Lifestyles Editor
New information indicates the skull pulled from Lake Wawasee last month may
have been from the victim of a Indianapolis-area homicide.
Debra A. Thomas of East Hatchery Road found the skull about 10 feet from shore
while looking for rocks in the lake. After digging up the skull, Thomas put it
on the shore and called authorities.
Preliminary investigations noted that the skull might have been that of a
primitive human or an Indian.
However, Dr. Stephen Nawrocki, a forensic anthropologist with the University of
Indianapolis, estimated that the skull belonged to a white male 35 to 50 years
old and that it may have been in the water for only five to six years.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is exploring the possibility that
the skull may be that of a victim of a serial killer, Herb Baumeister, who
reportedly murdered several homosexual males between 1993 and 1996 in the
Indianapolis. Baumeister committed suicide reportedly when investigators were
closing in on him.
Detective Sgt. Tom Brindle of the KCSD assisted the Hamilton County Sheriff’s
Department in that case in 1996 and recalled that although several thousand
human bones were found on the farm where Baumeister and his family had lived,
no skulls were ever located. The Fox Hollow Farm is in Westfield, a suburb of
Indianapolis. Brindle said Baumeister apparently told an intended victim that
he murdered 50 to 60 men.
The case can be linked to Kosciusko County because authorities said
Baumeister’s mother had a cottage on Lake Wawasee, about one-eighth of a mile
from the location of the skull recovery.
Local officials said if the skull is identified as belonging to one of
Baumeister’s victims, an attempt will be made to determine whether additional
skulls are in the lake, “but locating anything in Lake Wawasee could be
difficult,” said Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine.
Kosciusko County Coroner Larry Ladd said that Nawrocki was among the initial
group of investigators in the Hamilton County case and “is very interested in
it because of his earlier connection to the case,” Ladd said. He added that
the research into the matter, including comparing the skull to X-rays of males
who are missing and believed possible victims of Baumeister, will likely take
several months.
Officials said the information on the age of the skull was provided by Nawrocki
before the Baumeister connection was theorized.
Both Nawrocki and the KCSD are continuing their investigations.
