Notorious house destroyed to end ghoulish sightseeing
Sunday 13 June, 1999
One of South Australia's most notorious addresses is now part of
history.
The Housing Trust Home, at 203 Waterloo Corner Road at Salisbury North,
has
been demolished less than a month after two bodies linked to the State's
serial
killings were recovered from its back yard.
The home had become a morbid tourist destination with car loads of
sightseers
driving past during police investigations there.
Its the former home of one of four people charged with murder.
Contractors yesterday moved in and destroyed the home and its contents,
leaving
nothing for salvage.

House linked to SA killings demolished
Sunday 13 June, 1999
The Housing Trust Home at Salisbury North, where human remains linked to
South
Australia's serial killings were found last month, has now been
demolished.
Two of the 11 bodies discovered by the police investigation were found
buried
in the back yard of the house, at 203 Waterloo Corner Road.
Eight other bodies were found in six drums in a disused bank vault in
Snowtown
and the remains of a man found at Lower Light in 1994 are also allegedly
connected to the case.
Police are still preparing details on the cause of death of all the
victims.
They say the cause of death has been establised for some of the victims
but
they are not releasing the details at this stage.
Four men charged with murder of a person unknown are expected to appear
in
court early next month.
