Hello,

Over in Michigan earlier today, 4 humans, a Daddy and all three of his
daughters, aged 12, 7, and 3, are dead. Dead as doornails. Police say that a
fire raced through the home where they lived, killing them all. This fire was
an act of ARSON, and plice are confident that gasoline was splashed throughout
the house, in order to kill the occupants.

So, who might have set this fire? Who might want to SLAUGHTER three sisters,
burn them alive, in fact? The investigation is just beginning, but police
already say it looks VERY likely that this is a triple murder-suicide! Good old
Daddy-O, a 41 year old fellow named Gary Hicks, is believed to have splashed
gasoline all over the house, and then set it the fire, deliberately trapping
himself and his three child/slaves inside.

There's an ambitious way to kill yourself and your family, TRAP yourself and
the entire family, inside of a burning house. I wonder whether Gary THREW
himself into the fire, as a way of making CERTAIN that he would die, and not
just suffer severe burns. I wonder whether he watched his 3 daughters burn to
death. Maybe one or more of them tried to reach the front door, and Gary had to
stop them and push/throw them towards the fire? So many questions race through
my violence-obsessed mind when I read about an intriguing case like this one.

The house did have a smoke detector in it, but there was no battery inside. I
wonder whether Daddy Gary took out the battery, before he started the fire.
Gary was apparently NOT divorced. He lived with the mother of the three slaves,
but she was away from the house when Gary decided to incinerate himself and his
3 slaves. Gotta give him some credit, he was successful in terms of trapping
all 3 children inside the home, and causing them all to die. But he died
himself as well. Didn't have any TIME to savor his accomplishment. Oh well, I
don't judge the True Reality life choices of others. But I do feel that
homicide is a totally rational act, but suicide is a fundamentally irrational
action for any individual to undertake. In this case Daddy Gary took 3 other
lives with him, but he still chose to end his OWN life, and in my eyes, that is
still an irrational choice to make.

Take care, JOE

Three girls, their father die in suspicious Michigan fire

February 15, 1998

VICKSBURG, Mich. (AP) — Three girls and their father died Sunday when a fire,
apparently started by gasoline, raced through a house during the early morning
hours.

Investigators were looking into whether the fire was started by the father.

"It's very suspicious, but it looks like it appears to be a murder-suicide at
this point,'' Vicksburg Fire Chief Kevin Holmquist said.

Holmquist said trained dogs found traces of gasoline in the dining room, the
front porch and all of the sleeping areas.

Killed were Gary Hicks, 41, and his three daughters: 12-year-old Vanessa,
7-year-old Ginger and 3-year-old Ericka.

The home had a smoke detector, but there was no battery in it, firefighters
said.

The children's mother was not home at the time of the fire.
