Why in hell has it taken a WEEK for the phone company to get those records to
the police???? From the Akron Beacon:

Husband still carries hope for wife, baby

Ravenna man speaks publicly for first time since pregnant wife disappeared from
home

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS: Jonathan Andrews expects his first child to be born
tomorrow.
First, though, someone has to find his wife, Theresa A. Andrews, who now has
been missing nearly a week under what Ravenna police call very suspicious
circumstances.
Yesterday, Andrews spoke publicly for the first time since his wife's
disappearance.
``I'm living with the hope that somewhere my wife and child are still alive and
safe,'' Andrews said during a news conference with the private investigator and
lawyer the family has hired.
``I ask anyone with any information about Theresa to contact the police,'' he
said. ``They are following up on every lead that they have received, and I am
grateful for their help.''
But Ravenna police said there were no new developments in the case of the
23-year-old woman, who disappeared Wednesday from her home on Riddle Avenue in
Ravenna after receiving a phone call from a woman interested in buying the
family's 1999 Jeep Wrangler.
``My wife is due to deliver our child on Wednesday, Oct. 4, and our baby needs
immediate medical attention when he is born,'' Andrews said, his voice
breaking. ``For me and my entire family, I want to thank everyone who is
helping to find my wife and soon-to-be-born son.''
The black Jeep was found Wednesday evening in a parking lot about 200 feet
behind the couple's home.
Agents from the Akron office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been
advising local authorities in the case.
Nicholas E. Phillips, a Garfield Heights attorney representing Jonathan Andrews
and his wife's parents, Jim and Vicki Giarrano, explained that Theresa Andrews
has streptococcus B and that the baby will need treatment after he is born to
avoid infection.
The Andrews family, assisted by friends and members of Jehovah's Witnesses
congregations in Northeast Ohio, have distributed hundreds of fliers featuring
a photograph of an expectant Theresa Andrews, smiling and holding a stethoscope
to her stomach. Her parents are members of the church's Streetsboro
congregation.
The police have said that Jonathan Andrews, who passed a polygraph exam, is not
considered a suspect.
Detectives also said they had verified that Jonathan Andrews was at work
Wednesday in a Cleveland sheet metal shop when his wife got a call from the
woman asking to see the Jeep.
Phillips said the police told him just minutes before yesterday afternoon's
news conference that they expected to receive local telephone records later in
the afternoon that they hoped would trace the source of the phone call.
He said the police have received hundreds of telephone calls, including some
from people who said they have seen a pregnant woman with brown hair.
Theresa Andrews is described as white, 5-foot-3, about 150 pounds with brown
hair and blue eyes.
As Phillips and Jonathan Andrews spoke to the media, sitting behind them were
Theresa Andrews' parents; Jonathan Andrews' mother, Linda Andrews; and his
brother, David Andrews.
Jim Giarrano gently rubbed his wife's hand as Phillips said the family is
convinced that Theresa Andrews was taken against her will.
``At this point we're looking at it that it is an abduction or an involuntary
leaving,'' Phillips said, ``primarily with regard to Mrs. Andrews leaving her
purse at home with all of her identification in it.''
Phillips said Theresa Andrews' relatives are ``trying to cope with the
unthinkable.''
``Theresa may be out there and may be still alive, may be safe. . . . We have
people throughout the area thinking about her,'' Phillips said.
The police, as of yesterday, had no specific theory as to her disappearance and
were following up on all leads, Phillips said.
