Missing Woman's Boyfriend Ruled Out As Suspect
Hernandez Has Been Missing For 3 Weeks

POSTED: 9:01 AM CST February 6, 2004

SAN ANTONIO -- Justin Meece says he can't forget the rainy January
day when he last saw his girlfriend Marisol Hernandez.

"I just told her to be careful because the roads were wet," Meece
said, "and I told her I loved her. She blew me a kiss and smiled."

Meece (pictured, left) said Hernandez was supposed to meet her
ex-boyfriend, Mark Martinez, at the local attorney general's office to
discuss child support for their 2-year-old daughter.

"'Are we still on tomorrow at the attorney general's office?' Meece
said, as he recalled the conversation he said Hernandez had with
Martinez. "And I'm guessing he said yes because she said 'OK. Just
call me in the morning and tell me when you're ready.'"

Hernandez never showed up for the Jan. 16 appointment.

Martinez said he called Hernandez to set up a time to pick up their
daughter, but there was no appointment scheduled at the attorney
general's office.

He denies having anything to do with Hernandez' disappearance.

Meece, who is no longer a suspect in the case after passing a lie
detector test, said Martinez's story "has too many holes in it."

Meece said he wants Martinez to tell him the truth.

"If you did something, just let me know if she's safe," Meece said.

San Antonio Police Homicide investigators have combed river beds for
her body, but there has been no sign of her.

Meece said he is prepared for the unthinkable.
