Interesting case of a long-time serial killer living in a
neighborhood. As has been the case before, someone else may have been
convicted of one of the serial killer's murders.

South Buffalo Residents Learn Suspected Serial Killer Has Been Living
in Neighborhood

Sep 20, 2007 05:10 AM PDT

(Buffalo, NY, September 20, 2007) - - South Buffalo residents are
learning a suspected serial killer has been living in their
neighborhood for fifteen years. News 4's George Richert has the story.
Former neighbor Roger Schwarzott: "Yeah, he was kind of a real
keep-to-yourself kind of guy."

Dennis Donohue has lived most of the past fifteen years in a house on
Weyand Street in South Buffalo.

Former neighbor Jeff Kazmierczak said, "I have never seen him talking
to anybody, just real quiet kind of a loaner." [never trust them if
they're a loaner. Neither a borrow nor a lender be.]

He moved about a year and a half ago, but neighbors still have certain
memories.

Roger Schwarzott said, "Well, I remember one time there was a girl
there and she came running outta the house just afraid out of her
gourd. I don't know what he did, but she was deathly afraid when she
came running out of the house."

The house is about five blocks away from where Joan Giambra was
murdered back in 1993.

Donohue was charged Tuesday with her murder, and he's considered a
person of interest in two other murders, the 1975 strangulation of
Carol Reed, and the 1993 strangulation of thirteen year old Crystallin
Girard.

Crystallin's mother, Lynn Dejac has spent the past fourteen years in
prison for that murder, but Donohue was questioned at the time.

Former neighbor Paul Wilton said, "I don't know about murder, but I
will tell you he was a little weird."

Paul Wilton says Donohue once threatened him.

Wilton said, "We were working on a van out here, and he got really
ballistic about us working on the van."

But perhaps the most intriguing story is much more recent.

Even though Donohue hasn't lived there for over a year, one neighbor
says he saw Donohue just in the past two weeks removing a car from the
garage, a car that another neighbor says had been in the garage for at
least ten years.

Jeff Kazmierczak: "...week or two ago, right in the backyard here."

George Richert: Just switching a car, here?

Jeff Kazmierczak: "Yeah, pulling a car outta the garage."

Lynn Dejac's son is convinced his mother is innocent.

Edward Girard is now a sergeant in the U.S. Army, now stationed in
North Carolina. The Iraq war veteran hopes the developments of the
past few days will finally lead to his mother's exoneration.

"My mom has always pointed the finger at Dennis. To this day, she
maintains she's innocent."

Investigators from Buffalo's Cold Case Squad reportedly met with
Dejac's attorney Wednesday.
