Did she have a daughter named Janine? The one referenced in this obit:

http://www.sharon-herald.com/localnews/hed/0107/hed070701.html

The age looks about right, the daughter was born in 1953.

If so, the obit contains plenty of names to try and track down to
contact and ask about her.

No, different Chloe Davis. This is the genealogical information I was able
to track down, which is hosted on a web site. I've edited some of the
information slightly because I feel uncomfortable posting people's home

the page at http://www.familyorigins.com/users/h/o/f/Charles-J-Hoffman-

And what I was able to find out about Chloe's oldest son, Gary Alan (Dietz)
Methany, who did not die in 1983, but in 1993. I'm intrigued by the name
change and the early death, since he was pronounced DOA by the coroner,
which would seem to indicate something unusual rather than a natural death.
I don't have access to local papers in Cincinnati for that period to see if
there were any paper obits or news stories, though.

I've searched all the usual places I have access to and know about to see
if I could find out more about Chloe's live in general. (Did she work? Did
she have hobbies?) But I have pretty much exhausted my usual sources.
Maybe someone else online has some ideas.

What an extremely interesting story. I tried to google some searches
to find out more. Was she convicted? Did she really do it? Are
there any pictures or her and/or family? Did you post info on this
previously? Thanks for the good read.

There isn't that much more out there on the case, unfortunately. The
police let her go and that was the end of the matter -- except for the
publication of that interview in de River's book, where he anonymized her.

The only pictures I've found are crime scene photos in the book _Death
Scenes: A Homicide Detective's Scrapbook_, which is a reproduction based on
a real scrapbook compiled by a real-life LAPD detective from that era. The
pictures in the book are horribly graphic -- and the Davis photos are
actually among the more bearable. He's got some *really* gruesome stuff in
there. Although since I'm currently taking a history of photography class,
it made me start thinking about the why behind that style of photography.

I posted a general question about the case a couple of months ago when I
first stumbled across the articles in the New York Times, but I haven't
been able to found out anything more about it than what you read here. I
guess it was just a one-week wonder in LA, although I find it more
interesting than that.
