graduated from high school in 1987; spent a very short time in
college- forced to quit by depression. My major was mathematics. I was
arrested in 1990. I am bi-polar (manic-depressive), or given to
drastic mood swings which temporarily impair my judgment at times. I
am single, 6' 3/4" tall, 215lbs. with brown hair & brown eyes. My
ambition is to be a minister of Christianity. I choose to dedicate my
remaining days to my creator because he is worthy to be served. I am
seeking companionship. Loneliness is eroding my faith in people and in
my own ability to make a positive contribution to society. I am not
seeking mundane relationships. I am a deeply spiritual person and
persons who are not spiritual will probably tire of me. My goals while
on death row are to organize tutorial programs for the educationally
challenged inmate and to maintain participation in group Bible study
and psychological therapy. My guilt was determined by 12 reasonable
jurors, yet my fate was affixed in absence of the knowledge of my

black ! The reason for telling y'all that I'm a black man is because
of a somewhat funny experience I had with a pen pal - I was writing to
this lady for some time about a year or so ago - things seemed to be
going real well - So well that she became a friend to me in my heart -
Get this! For some reason - all the time we had been writing to each
other she was thinking that I was white - It came up one day and when
I told her I was black - she said in her next and last letter to me
that she was thinking I was white - the reason she gave was this (now
get this) because of my last name being BRIGHT - I could not stop
laughing at that :) for that was a first...thinking I was white cause
my name is BRIGHT - now that was a good one. But in time it made me
somewhat sad and hurt as well as disappointed in that being the reason
for not writing to me anymore. But! I had to respect her feelings and
get over it. I gave up on the pen pal service thing for some time -
but because it is hard to deal with my feelings of loneliness at times
- once more here I am...My interests! I read about what's going on in
our world today - I would love to see pictures of places of that I
have never been. I like for my mind to be taken away from being here
on death row and the loneliness that comes with it. Looking for :

My name is Robert. I'm 39 years old and I've been here on Georgia's
Death Row for 16 years. I have only a few friends outside the prison
and haven't had a visit in the past year...The US District Court for
the Northern District of Georgia has had my case since the summer of
1995. The only issues left for it to resolve are those involving the
ineffectiveness of my trial lawyer. Over a period of two months in
1984 I was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to death. There
wasn't time for my lawyer to do much of anything.....
I am Catholic and attend the weekly services here. I'd like to be more
involved in the Church but its difficult to do from here. I enjoy
learning about my faith and would one day like to teach it as a
catechist. I believe very strongly in education and have completed a
BA in economics since being here. I would like to earn a graduate
degree but have yet to find a program I can complete here.
I intend to maintain my enrollment for as long as I'm here. I most
recently completed a linear algebra course and will enroll in
Principles of Finance next. Its a constant struggle to pay for
courses...I also like to teach and am currently tutoring elementary
algebra. Although I've never used it - or even seen it - I think the
internet is fantastic. This is my first foray into cyberspace and
though I have high hopes I really don't know what to expect....I am

Hello my name is James Ringo McDaniel and I have been on death row
since June of '97. I wasn't suppose to be on death row, but a judge
here in Georgia lied to me and I was sent here anyway. It began with a
terrible mistake I made in 1994 which I am truly sorry I made. I took
the life of three people and I have since then been in continuos
contact with the victims families and they have forgiven me for what I
have done and I have asked God to forgive me and I truly feel that he
has done so. But Bilson Smith the Judge over my case told me and my
lawyers that he is 90% sure that he would impose a sentence of life
without parole and not sentence me to death if I were to plead guilty.
Well I pleaded guilty and received a death sentence. I feel like I was
lied to as well as my lawyers concerning the sentencing. I have since
then had my case overturned or reversed but the damage has still been
done. I've lost the relationship I had with family members and
basically I have no one in my corner I can talk to or help me when I
still need all the help I can get. I'm looking for someone who I can
truly call a friend and someone who can help me through this very hard
time. Even though I may have to spend the remainder of my life in
prison there is alot of goals I want to accomplish. Such as taking
college courses and getting a degree in culinary arts. Even though I
am incarcerated my mind isn't. If a can find a true friend who doesn't
mind helping a person that has nothing out financially, I would more
than appreciate it. I need someone I can truly depend on and whom is

in Jan Gov Ryan cleared out death row and they are all serving life
now as a result :

RESENTENCED TO LIFE !
BOBBY O. WILLIAMS I'm a 24 year old male in IL. on Menard Prison's
Death Row and in desperate need of help, from good people such as
yourselves. As you already know there are a lot of people claiming
their innocence, in this case such a proclaimation is true. I won't
bore you with all the legal jargon and what have you, but at your
request I would be happy to send you the facts that support my
innocence. This is far from a ploy to scam money from anyone,

Kirchner, I was wrongfully convicted by means of false testimony and a
tainted jury in June of 1998 of murder. I'm currently on Death Row in

REGINALD CHAPMAN I'm not sure of what to say or how to begin…I'm in my
direct appeal stage…I have an interest in writing poetry. I would like
to further that, to attract others to develop the same interest. To
collaborate with them and maybe publish some of my work in a

on this webpage is a person, a man, a loving son to a wonderful
mother. Just because I'm in prison on death row for a crime I didn't
commit don't make me any different than most of you my dear readers.
Yes, I'm in a confined area, locked in a cell and watched 24 hours a
day, but my life hasn't always been spent like this. I was raised by a
single parent, a mother, named Rosie Lee Jones, in the steel mill city
of Pittsburg, Pa. The paintings and poems you will read and see on
this page are inspired by my life experience in and out of prison. I
was born in 1955 in the city of Memphis, Tenn, the tenth child out of
eleven. I grew up learning from the streets. I was a high school drop
out, I did drugs, I drank alcohol and I also sold drugs. As a
teenager, I went to jail a few times for drinking and joy riding in
cars that didn't belong to me. I was also arrested for other things in
that nature, but I managed to stay out of serious trouble. I was
mostly into music back then and I am still into it today. I would hang
out with a few of my buddies but I wasn't a criminal by todays'
standards. I also kept a small time job. I wasn't a gang banger and
I'm still not one. I'm not a violent person I treat all people with
the respect I want to be treated with. I think I have a big heart and
a deeply sensitive soul. Aithought I'm not well educated, I have a lot
of common sense. As I sithere on death row writing this message for
the webpage, I realize common sense can't help the hurt that's in my
heart when I wake up all alone in this little cell. This type of life

have been married once and I have a son and daughter. I am a Shoe
Repairman by trade and I also design and make shoes. I am into body

became a member of the Ansaara Allah Community later that same year. I

appeal since 1998. On December 16th, 1997, an Opinion and Order
vacating my capital murder conviction and sentences. On January 3rd,
1998, the State was granted a stay of Judgment pending appeal by the
State of Mississippi. The State's appeal is proceeding at the present

I believe the only way to reach true Peace and Love in this world full
of hate is to learn about each others does and don'ts and respect
them. As long as we keep trying to force people to believe in what we
believe, we will never get past the hate. Its all about respecting the

I am asking for your support. I need a voice that will speak out about
how I being victimize by our Justice System. The people need to know
the pain of my confusion and frustration, that hurt me as a human
being, because of the tragic injustice and irony lies in the fact the
most of victims of America's bestial are poor peoples, often denied
due process of law and I fall in that class of peoples. As you can
see, I want to talk about me in this Justice System, and the
philosophy of life that I find myself living. I know that I can't give
it all to you in this one sitting, because it will take more time than
that. So I will try to give you bits, and pieces of this puzzle in the
hope that you will understand what I am trying to say to you. The
honesty that I am trying to give you is the unembellishing of the
truth. The prosecutors in poison the media mind with Negative untruth
facts that is destroy my character, which in fact, he have never spend
no time around me, only in the courtroom. When he drawn up these
illusory about me and how the crime happen there can be no justice
when lies are put forth as truths, he couldn't even find anyone from
my community to say one bad thing about me, but he tell the jury and
the media I am a bad man and the only way to stop me is to sentence me
to Death. So the jury did just that. And there was no truth obtained
in the trial. All that was obtained was a conviction based on lies. A
prosecutor has the responsiblity of a Minister of Justice, and not
simply that of an advocate. The responsibility carries with it
specific obligations to see that the defendant is accorded procedural
Justice and that guilt is decided upon the basis of sufficient
evidence.
My trial lawyer Mr Hugh Lee Bailey Jr fail to give my trial jury any
mitigating evidence on my behalf, that I was force at gun point and I
thought my life was in danger because I was a victim of a home
invasion that my sister was raped and I was forced to watch my sister
being raped. Also I had to watch a man put a knife to my 18 month old
niece neck and force my sister to take off her clothes. Me and my
sister had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital where I was treat
with head injuries and my hands was injured. The hospital bill for the
treatment was sent to my mother next door neighbour who give her the
bill. I told my trial lawyer Mr Hugh Lee Bailey Jr. all about this,
thats why I took the stand because I thought he was going to show that
to the jury, that evidence, plus to call my sister to testify on my
behalf why I went in the store. Also that is why my sister is under
Physis medication and she must go to see Physis Doctor every month for
this reason. All my Trial lawyer Mr Hugh Lee Bailey Jr had to do is
get the police report and the record from the Hospital where I was
treated to show the jury. I only had one trial lawyer and he was not
qualified to handle a capital murder case. And he made many mistakes
which now he have given affidavit stated all the wrong he did at
trial. Even the private investigator have given affidavit stated that
he didn't do his best work and the little work he did do, he made some
mistake in it, if one can take all that in mind, how can one say
truly. I got alibi defense. When you aren't able to hire a lawyer you
will always be denied equal protection under the law and justice will
never fill your cup up. Poor people are aware of this abuse, for a
disproportionate number of poor people suffer from it constantly. I
come to you ask for you to help me trial in my case in the media, and
being already tried in the courtroom and the jury haven't heard the
whole truth I was denied justice. The only way I think I can get a new
trial is with the help of the people, that they will help put pressure
on the justice system- I know first I must show the people that the
justice system didn't give me a fair trial. And I must admit I really
don't know how to go by trial in my case in the media and it have
being wear and tear on my brain cells. But no problems can be solved
until they are faced squarely and illusion are possible. So I am ready
to face it head on. Is there any question(s) you need to ask to help
me do this and if there are any documents that I can send just let me

Back when I was seventeen; young and foolish, I made the worst mistake
that a person could make, a mistake that cost another man his life,
for which the state now says that I shall be executed. I'm not here to
argue whether their decision is right or wrong-I can't justify my
past, not without seemingly making light of what happened, which is
something that I don't want to do-but I am here to ask your help; to
help me live out the remainder of my day, however long or short they
may be-that's in God's hands-in a way that is both honest and
productive. I would like use of your eyes, ears, and legs in order to
help me find a way to earn (that's right, EARN!) a small but steady
income. I can write a little and I can also draw a bit (mostly the
comic-type stuff-and I only have pencil and paper to work with, no
colors!), or who knows what type of interesting little things are
possible from in here! And that's exactly where I need and want your
help: do you know of papers, magazines, or some other type of
periodical that solicits and pays for stories, poems, articles, little
comics, or whatnots? Do you have friends who may know of some? Can you
find some on the Net, local paper, through your church, or place of
employment? Will you be my eyes, ears, and legs to find such? You
maybe wondering why someone on Death Row would want to earn some cash
in the first place, after all, the State provides for
everything-right? WRONG! The state provides me with three hots' (more
like colds'!) and a cot; and not a whole lot more! (Okay, state
clothes and the bare-bone basics in hygiene and that's it!). Not the
stamps I need, or the paper, envelopes, shampoo, deodorant, ribbon for
my typewriter or the books that I like to study. And plus, I'd like to
help my mother; she's struggling out there-and hey, it would be nice
to be able to by a Christmas present for her too every now and again!
Some people in places like this would rather keep looking for handouts
from their friends, family, or whoever; and some have no other choice.
But I have some abilities and I want to use them. I don't want to have
to ask friends and family for the pocket change that their out there
working hard for. And I won't run games or "hustle" fund out of
folks-I'd rather go to sleep hungry than get a few snacks like that.
So, that's why I want your help. Can you help ? Will you help ? Will

background ceases at graduation from high school. I have a desire to
learn about many things if given the opportunity. My interests can be
vast if I were to delineate them all. To put some in a nutshell I like

a precious gem. My thus far incarceration began on October 18, 1985.
Roughly 5 months post graduation. I received the death sentence on
August 5, 1996 at age 19. I've been in prison since August 10th of the

knowing is that I am a 'military' man. Though I have no experience in
this area, I was enlisted in the Navy. I was due for basic training, a
month after I was arrested, in Great Lakes, Illinois. Obviously, I
didn't make it. The irony is that I have a morbid fear of sharks, so

circumstance in which I am currently reside I am quite sure that a bit
of sunshine would be a welcome sight with a response back from you. If
you should decide that you do not want to write to this soul-man, then
just accept this letter as a friendly greeting with my hopes that the
circumstances and blessings of life will soon have all of the positive
elements coming your direction. And, I would wish you the best of life
and what it has to offer you from this day forward ! I have been
seeking an everlasting "Pen pal" friendship for all the years I've

time, and to just be able to get my mind out of this surroundings
place as often as I can !!! With the fast paced and hectic routine of
life here sometimes often make me feel like doing absolutely nothing.

webpage, and they are---I need help personally and I would like to see
if there is a way that I might get a defense fund started for legal
fees---I want to be up front and straight with you to start with, I am
not into games or mind games of any kind, honesty is what I will give
and that is what I want in return---I have been down the game roads
over the years and they lead to nowhere, and I want no part of
any-thing like that! I have been on death row since I was 19, and now
I am 36, that means that I have been here going on 18 years, and
unless the lawyers pull a rabbit out of the hat, I don't have a lot of
time left, where they will do their best, there could be more done if
there was money to do it with, (money runs this world, as we all know,
so that is why I would like to try and start up a defense fund) and
the reason that I am asking for personal help with my personal needs,
is simple, the lawyers aren't there to do that, nor will they, and as
for family, let's just say that they aren't able and haven't been able
to help in a long time, and leave it at that! I only want to live like
a human being, so any help I can get will be a big help, But I am not
