Two members of the Hells Angels motorcycle club involved in a high
profile brawl outside a Kelowna casino pled guilty to assault.
Joe Calendino and Sabino Debenedetto, who police say are full-patch
members of the Hells Angels, were arrested following a fight with
another man.
Police got video footage of the two Angels involved in the beating of a
third man outside Lake City Casino in April, 2005. It appears on the
tape that one Hells Angel was arguing with a man across a table, then
took his jacket off revealing his colours, crossed the floor and
punched the man.
A second man, flying the same colours, came and also began hitting the
victim. Security broke it up and tried to move them out but it resumed
at the base of the stairs. The video shows the gang members punching
him repeatedly in the head.
A date for a formal sentencing hearing hasn't been scheduled.
At an earlier hearing, prosecutors and police said they were being
careful to protect the identities of the victim and witness.
"Because of the nature of the offence charged and their affiliation
with the Hells Angels, the victim has been named as John Doe," said
prosecutor Shelley Holmes.
The identity of witnesses who gave statements about the incident also
had their names withheld for personal safety reasons, added Holmes.

The attack was caught on casino video and aired on Global News hour.
Caledino is the nephew of a NDP politician, Pietro Caledino, who
narrowly lost in Burnaby in the last provincial election. Pietro rented
his campaign office from an 81 associate. The NDP and Hell's Angels
have frequently been involved in illegal activity associated with
gambling in British Columbia. HA used to frequent the NBI casino and
the scandal around a casino license for that hotel caused NDP Premier
Glen Clark to resign.
Caledino has reportedly been kicked out of the club according to an
article in the Vancouver Sun.
The Hells Angels and their t-shirt and baseball cap wearing supporters
do no good for the community. They manufacture and sell meth, pimp out
prostitutes, sell cocaine and crack and engage in extortion, arson and
homicide. They also intimidate witnesses, threaten ppl and steal
motorcycles and make and distribute phony currency. Put them in
prison, confiscate their assets and put their children in foster care.
Liberal MP David McQuinty who sits on the House of Commons Justice
Committee is trying to get HA designated a terrorist group which is
great if it happens. If you agree send him a letter or email.

There is a story in the Vancouver Sun today on page B5 that a Hell's
Angel, Juel Ross Santon, attacked a person in the witness protection
program. More of their continued attack on the state, and the judiciary
and the
politicians seem to be moving at a glacial pace to deal with the
problem.
Hopefully the HA members involved in this incident will get a deuce
less in jail for it as well as fines. The video showed a smaller man
being attacked for no reason.
