Police chase a man accused of stealing a car into the woods in Hartwell
overnight.

North College Hill police spotted the vehicle and tried to stop the driver
around 2:30 this morning. He refused to stop and eventually crashed the
car into a wooded area on Anthony Wayne and Hartwell Avenues.

Police say the vehicle was stolen during a robbery in Springfield Township
last night. The driver, who is a juvenile, ran away after the crash. A
police dog helped officers find him.

Police chase ends in crash, arrest
By Jennifer Baker

A police pursuit ended in a high-speed crash and arrest early Friday,
according to police.

Springfield Township police outlined what they say happened:

At about 9 p.m. Thursday, they responded to a report of a street robbery
at North Bend Road and Betts Avenue. The victim said he was knocked to the
ground by five men he didn't know. He also said two of the men stole his
car.

About 2:40 a.m. today, the stolen car was spotted going fast on eastbound
Galbraith Road. Police chased the car, which crashed on Anthony Wayne
Avenue and Vine Street. A person in the car tried to get away but was
tracked down and arrested.

A teenager faces a charge of obstructing official business and was taken
to the juvenile detention center.
