COLUMBUS | A man pleaded guilty to a charge of murder Tuesday in the
beating and strangling of three women whose bodies were dumped within
a half-mile of one another on the city's south side.
Christian Fuhr, 33, of suburban Whitehall was sentenced to life in
prison without parole.
Before accepting the plea agreement, he faced the death penalty for
six counts of aggravated murder and three counts of kidnapping.
Fuhr admitted to killing Kimberly Rodgers, 29, on Nov. 7; Shawna
Sowers, 30, on Nov. 18; and Lisa Crow, 36, on Nov. 22.
Police said all three women had engaged in drug use and prostitution.
Fuhr used the women to obtain drugs and sex before he strangled them,
police said.
Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Ed Morgan said the women
allegedly got into his truck with the understanding they were going
somewhere to have sex.
DNA evidence and a handprint found on the victims matched Fuhr's DNA
and fingerprints, prosecutors said.
The women's families agreed to the plea deal.
荘We don't want to give him the satisfaction of our time,'' said
Natasha Geno, Rodgers' sister-in-law. 荘He's already taken enough time
away from us as a family.''
