Ed Smart vs. Scott Peterson

We have seen the news networks jump all over the suspicious aspects of Scott
Peterson's behavior (his affair, life insurance, etc.).

However, as discussed in courttv.com and on alt.true-crime, there are
suspicious things about Ed Smart, too.

It has been mentioned online that the FBI found gay porn on his computer and
that Ed may have gotten rid of Liz because she found out.

It has been mentioned that Liz may have run away because her parents were not
allowing her to grow up.

My question is this: Why are the news networks not jumping all over these
things? Why isn't Fox News making a big deal about the alleged gay porn?

Why are the networks piling up onto Scott Peterson while treating Ed Smart with
kid gloves?

Because Scott Peterson has not been co-operative with police, has
refused to take a polygraph, and has two obvious motives for killing
his wife (a girlfriend and a life insurance policy).

Ed Smart has been co-operative with police, has agreed to take (and
passed) a polygraph, and has no obvious motive for kidnapping his
daughter. Furthermore, the circumstances of the kidnapping make his
involvement implausable.

The difference is night and day.

Fox News is not making a big deal about the gay porn allegedly found
on Ed Smart's computer because the police investigators do not think
it is a big deal.

The odds that Elizabeth ran away are miniscule- if she wanted to do
that there was no need to stage an elaborate kidnapping in her own
home. She could have just said she was going jogging and not come
back.

When this news first came out it was described as being more than simply the
normal 'pop up' porn..........

I was wondering the same sort of thing. This girl roamed within a mile of their house with the two pervs in a burka. She made no little attempt to escape. It does not appear she was in a hurry to get home. She was in a perfect storm of Mormonism and perversity.

This thread began way back in 2003. Recently, some people resurrected this thread. And now, Ed Smart has come out as being gay.

Back in 2002-2003, there was speculation that Elizabeth Smart had run away from home, and that one possible reason for her running away was that her father was secretly gay. There was speculation on this forum, and on the Court TV message boards as well. Unfortunately, the Court TV message boards were eventually discontinued.

Now that Ed Smart has officially admitted that he has always been gay, I'm wondering whether there will be some kind of admission that Elizabeth Smart ran away.

Are any people who were on this forum in 2002-2003 still on the forum today?
