Hello,

Over in West Virginia, a 39 year old fellow named Michael Newell is
under arrest, accused of luring his seven year old niece into the parking
lot of a bowling alley, by promising to give/show her baseball cards, and
then abducting the little girl and beating her to death. Michael lived on
the same block as the bowling alley, so this was certainly a convenient
abduction plan for him.

After beating Jessica to death, he dumped her body on a hillside
overlooking the city. Didn't try to bury her or anything. Seems to me that
dumping bodies, even in so-called secluded areas, generally only serves to
delay the finding of the body by days-weeks-months. But if a killer would
actually go to a secluded area and dig a shallow grave, and then place the
body in the opening, covering it thoroughly with fresh soil, perhaps even
mixed in with new grass seed, the odds of the body never being discovered
go up considerably.

Anyway, an autopsy on Jessica was done yesterday, to try and determine
if she had been sexually assaulted, no results have crossed the news wires
as of yet. Police say they do have forensic evidence linking Michael to
this murder.

Take care, JOE

The following appears courtesy of yesterday's Associated Press news wire:

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A man who lived a few doors down from the
bowling alley where his 7-year-old niece was abducted was charged Monday
with murder and kidnapping.

Michael Newell, 39, allegedly lured the girl to the parking lot of the
bowling alley with the promise of baseball cards, which she collected,
Berkeley County Prosecutor Pamela Games-Neely said.

A passerby found Jessica Newell's body Saturday in a secluded hillside
overlooking the city, officials said.

She died from blunt force trauma to the head. Investigators hoped an
autopsy Monday would determine whether she was sexually assaulted before
she died, Games-Neely said.

An angry crowd gathered outside Newell's home and cheered as he was taken
away in handcuffs in a state police cruiser, State Police Sgt. Rob Blair
said. He was arraigned and jailed without bond pending a preliminary hearing.

Newell was the suspect from the beginning but was not arrested until
investigators uncovered forensic links to the crime, Games-Neely said. She
declined to say what the evidence was.

Jessica's disappearance prompted a massive search with as many as 70 FBI
agents from surrounding states joining state police.

``You can't help to have the parental feeling seep into something like
this,'' Rick Mosquera, director of the FBI's Pittsburgh division said. ``I
have a couple of little girls. I feel for the parents, for what they're
going through.''

I bet he raped her.

Great tip Joe. Now at least the rest of us know that there's
something up there in that previously presumed empty brain of yours.
