FDLE: Chief hitman of Miami gang Boobie Boys arrested

QUINCY, Fla. (AP) - The suspected chief hitman for a Miami-area drug gang
called the Boobie Boys was spotted in north Florida's Gadsden County, then was
tailed and arrested without incident.

Leonard Charles ``Bo'' Brown was arrested Wednesday when he was pulled over by
Gadsden County sheriff's deputies and Quincy police officers as he drove into
city limits, about 25 miles northwest of Tallahassee.

Brown, whose identity was confirmed by the FBI through fingerprints, was booked
into Gadsden County Jail on several homicide charges, the Florida Department of
Law Enforcement said in a statement released late Wednesday night.

According to the FDLE, the Boobie Boys gang is ``believed responsible for at
least 30 murders,'' and the gang's signature weapon is the Russian-made
automatic rifle, the AK-47.

``The Boobie Boys have been involved in a deadly drug war with rival gangs, and
state and federal authorities believe their drug ties extend across the
country,'' the FDLE said.

Investigators trying to find Brown determined that he had relatives living in
the Gadsden County town of Gretna, northwest of Quincy. They discovered Brown
had been seen in the area, and began trying to track his movements, making the
arrest as Brown drove with three passengers in his car.

In Miami, Crime Stoppers of Miami-Dade County issued a public appeal for tips
to help law enforcement agencies arrest the Boobie Boys' leader, Kenneth
Sorrell Williams.

Crime Stoppers announced a $31,000 reward for information leading to the arrest
and indictment of Williams, who also is known by the street names Boobie,
Hi-Tech and Black Boy. All callers would remain anonymous, the group said.
