A Geneva man was recently sentenced to 120 days in Kane County Jail
and three years of sex offender probation after pleading guilty to one
count of aggravated possession of child pornography. Gary Reschke was
arrested in June and indicted on a total of 15 child pornography
counts alleging he had images of children involved in sex acts. He
pleaded guilty in a deal with prosecutors that included the dropping
of the remaining 14 counts against him. Reschke, 57, was also ordered
to pay $4,390 in fines and costs.

DUPAGE
Glen Ellyn
A man who sued College of DuPage over injuries he sustained in a 2010
on-campus attack has been given additional time to refile his lawsuit
after it was essentially thrown out in November. William Kendrick
filed a lawsuit last year claiming the school and its police should
have prevented him from being jumped by a group of non-students. COD
successfully argued for dismissal on grounds it was protected under
state immunity laws, and that Kendrick failed to make a premises
liability claim against the school. Kendrick has until early next
month to refile. A hearing is scheduled for March 28.
Naperville
One man indicted in connection to several area robberies, including at
least two in Naperville, has pleaded not guilty. Travis Gamble, 22, of
Oswego, is charged with multiple counts of armed robbery, aggravated
robbery and kidnapping. Gamble and Josiah McCroskey are accused of
working with a third man, Cory Paytes, on different robberies that
stretch back over the last year, according to prosecutors. Gamble
returns to court March 27.
Wheaton
An April trial date has been set in the case of a man accused of
breaking into the unincorporated Wheaton home of an off-duty police
officer last year. Kerin Ramirez is scheduled to stand trial April 3
on home invasion and battery charges, although he is due back in court
on March 1 for a hearing on an unspecified motion filed by his
attorney. Ramirez is accused of entering the officer's home and
refusing to leave, before being shot in the abdomen by the officer,
officials said.
