Ron, I'd think that someone who sets himself up as the defacto "owner" of a
Usenet group would be capable of reading for comprehension. I am a little
alarmed to discover that this isn't the case with you.
Responsible cross-posting, of material relevant to the groups involved, is
a standard feature of Usenet, and has been from the time the first NNTP
packet flashed through the backbone lines.
I advocated responsible cross-posting. I pointed you to a FAQ, written by
an expert on Usenet, that advocated responsible cross-posting. If you
disagree with Skirvin, then I suggest you go to alt.configure and talk to
him. You tell him that his FAQ is "unadualterated bullshit". See what he
says.

be introduced to Edmond Wollmann.

We do indeed, but since Ron is a real, honest to goodness doctor, and since
the purpose of our discussion was enlightenment of Ron, and not to mess
with alt.crime, a visit from Edddddddie and his legions of fans wouldn't be
appropriate.

Perhaps Ron will consider doing as I have suggested. I'd expect a man of
medicine to be open to learning new things.
At one time, practitioners of his science believed that "bad humors" caused
illness. That was as correct as is Ron's beliefs about cross-posting.
An intelligent man doesn't run away from new knowledge.

One would hope. Being a Med School grad, unfortunately, does not guarantee
that that he will be accepting of new ideas, especially in a field very
different from his own.

Well, he was right proud to pronounce Tim Skirvin's FAQ as "unadulterated
bullshit". So clearly he thinks he knows about these things. He must to
know better than Tim, right?
