Hello,

Here is an update on the one and only Dennis Rabbitt, 43 year old fellow who
pled Guilty in court on Friday, to serially raping 13 gals, and trying to rape
a 14th, ALL in the state of Missouri. Detectives believe that Dennis is an even
MORE prolific serial rapist, with 20+ victims, from three different states,
under his belt. Dennis WILL be condemned to LIFE in prison, with no parole
opportunities, at his upcoming April sentencing. This makes his DECISION to
plead Guilty on Friday, which was essentially a "plea bargain" deal, EXTREMELY
FOOLISH. After all, even if Dennis raped 1000 gals, the LAWS of amerikkka do
NOT allow for the crime of RAPE or physical assault, to be punished via legal
murder. So, the WORST punishment, the most punitive punishment he could
possibly have received, was LIFE in prison. Given that fact, it makes NO SENSE
for Dennis, or any other societal victim turned justifiably enraged predator,
to AGREE to plead Guilty, if the agreement does NOT involve SOME sort of
promise or STRONG INDICATION from the judge, that his sentence WILL at least
offer a parole opportunity for the defendent.

Dennis himself ADMITS to committing twenty-nine serial rapes. We learn below
that he is "promising to help detectives identify more of his victims". Again,
IF he can GAIN sentencing leniency by doing this, it MIGHT make some logical
sense. But WHY should Dennis GIVE AWAY his final bargaining chips, anemic as
they clearly are, and HELP his ENEMY, society, without GAINING any type of
benefit for himself?? It's just not a LOGICAL, self-loving thing to do.

Dennis's lawyer confirms that he intends to plead Guilty to ALL 29 rapes.
Well, at least he will get OFFICIAL CREDIT for ALL of his attacks, if the pleas
are accepted. In many cases, serial attackers do NOT receive "official" credit,
via convictions that go on the judicial record, for all of their
attacks/harvestings. Cops aqctually believe that Dennis has claimed MORE than
29 gal victims. He promises to help detectives by telling them whether he can
recall committing even MORE undesired and forceful in-and-out fornicatory
action upon other gals. He certainly has had enough TIME, two+ decades, to rack
up a very high victim toll.

Declares his FEMALE lawyer: "Dennis wants to find out the reason why he
couldn't control his urges. He'll do whatever is necessary. He's clearing his
conscience. He's eager to talk.'' Dennis, in order to get in touch with your
True Reality, with your EMOTIONAL CORE, you need to look INWARD, courageously
explore the deepest and most profound center of your OWN unique life
experiences, and CHILDHOOD ABUSE and traumatization that you were subjected to.
Talking to detectives is NOT going to lead you to any personal insights of
introspective Truth. Neither will talking to your lawyer, or EVEN a head
shrink, although a highly talented head shrink MIGHT be able to help you REACH
DEEP enough inside of yourself, to allow your suppressed childhood torments
rise up to a level where they can be remembed by you on a conscious level. Good
luck in your efforts! There is NOTHING more rewarding, or more terrifyingly
difficult, than to face up to and embrace your CORE True Reality, on a
conscious level.

You can view a VERY interesting color photo of Dennis's face & upper body, he
certainly does NOT have a very handsome appearance, by most standards, AND also
access an archive of SIX other articles on this case, over at:

We get some VERY interesting details on Dennis's TRAUMATIC life, including
the fact that his Mommy was SHOT DEAD in 1982 by his stepDaddy, after she tried
to divorce him. Dennis ABSOLUTELY seems to have a tortured but LIVING soul,
unlike people such as myself, whose souls were completely MURDERED during our
childhoods. As I've said in the past, it makes perfect sense that living with a
TORTURED soul, can be more difficult and stressful, on a day to day basis, than
living with a DEAD soul often is.

We learn that Dennis deliberately altered his TRUE and GENUINE mindset and
brain chemistry, with alcohol. He did this as a way to try and CONTROL and NOT
act out the absolutely legitimate rage and hate that he POSSESSED within
himself. He had NO obligation to make such an effort. He had every right to
EMBRACE the legitimacy of his violent urges, rather than to try and
artificially suppress them. This makes the PUNITIVE punishment that your
diseased society is inflicting upon this victim, all the more OUTRAGEOUS.

Stay Strong, Dennis!

Take care, JOE

Rapist Promises To Identify Victims

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Before he is sentenced to spend the rest of his life in
prison, a man who admits raping at least 29 women is promising to help
detectives resolve even more cases in which he terrorized women.

Dennis Rabbitt, 43, pleaded guilty Friday to sexually assaulting 13 women and
attempting to assault a teen-ager from 1988 to 1997. He will be sentenced to
life in prison in April.

In addition to those attacks - mostly in relatively crime-free south St. Louis
- he is also accused of raping women elsewhere in Missouri and in Illinois, for
a total of 29. His attorney said Rabbit will plead guilty to the other cases as
well.

But detectives are convinced Rabbitt has victimized many, many more women than
that. Over the next several weeks, detectives will re-examine other incidents,
and Rabbitt has promised to cooperate.

His public defender, Terri Johnson, said Rabbitt ``wants to find out the reason
why he couldn't control his urges.''

``He'll do whatever is necessary,'' she said. ``He's clearing his conscience.
He's eager to talk.''

Police said Rabbitt began his criminal life as a burglar at about age 17. He
was arrested last year in New Mexico.

``It's only logical that there are many more rapes than we know about,'' said
Detective Mark Kennedy. ``Even if he averaged only four a year, that's more
than 100 rapes.''

Rabbitt will plead guilty to rapes in other areas, lawyer says

By Bill Bryan
Of The Post-Dispatch

Dennis Rabbitt pleaded guilty last week to sexually assaulting 13 women and
attempting to assault one teen-age girl over a 10-year period in St. Louis.

His lawyer says he will plead guilty to all other charges filed against him in
several surrounding jurisdictions.

But even after all the pleas are over, the book won't be closed on Rabbitt, the
notorious "South Side Rapist."

Detectives are convinced Rabbitt has victimized many, many more women than the
29 they've documented. In the coming weeks, detectives will be trying to
resurrect other incidents. Rabbitt has promised his full cooperation.

"He'll do whatever is necessary," said Rabbitt's lawyer, Terri Johnson, a St.
Louis public defender. "He's clearing his conscience. He's eager to talk."

Lt. Mary Warnecke, commander of the St. Louis Police Department's sex crimes
unit, said Rabbitt, 43, has acknowledged beginning his criminal life as a
burglar about age 17. That would have been in 1973.

Rabbitt grew up in south St. Louis and graduated from Bishop DuBourg High
School in the early 1970s. He was married and has two children but has been
divorced for many years. During most of the years that the rapes occurred,
Rabbitt frequently changed residences. He earned his living as a laborer.

Rabbitt has not been charged with any rape occurring before 1988.

"It's only logical that there are many more rapes than we know about," added
Detective Mark Kennedy, a member of the sex crimes unit who has been on the
South Side Rapist investigation for years. "Even if he averaged only four a
year, that's more than 100 rapes."

In an interview with St. Louis area detectives after he was captured Feb. 28 in
Albuquerque, N.M., Rabbitt said that before he began burglarizing and raping he
was a peeping Tom, starting at age 8 or 9.

"He graduated to a burglar and became very good at it over the years," Kennedy
said.

Rabbitt never stalked his victims. Instead, he selected them at random by
peering through windows and then put his burglary skill to work in getting
inside.

"He was an excellent burglar," Kennedy added. "He was a keen observer, he could
analyze quickly and he's an intelligent man. He developed his skills over the
years."

Rabbitt would enter a house and would look around awhile if a woman was
sleeping, Kennedy said. If a man was there, he'd leave.

"Sometimes a man would awake and Rabbitt would run out," Kennedy added.

Even when publicity about the South Side Rapist was running high in the
newspaper and on television, Rabbitt told detectives that he had no trouble
finding an unlocked house or apartment to enter.

Rabbitt came close to getting caught and being identified as a serial rapist.
Once, Kirkwood police found him passed out from drinking on a lawn. He had
socks over his hands, but no thought was given to him as being a rapist.

Another time, a man arrived home in Fairmont City to find Rabbitt attacking his
mother. The man severely beat Rabbitt with his fists. Rabbitt was arrested and
served time in jail but was not linked to the series of rapes in the area.

"It shows the fragmentation of police agencies and how that's a weakness,"
Kennedy said.

Rabbitt's luck ran out in late 1998. A man heard a window break on Alma Avenue,
chased the prowler away and reported the man's license plate number to police.
St. Louis Detective Randy Sasenger traced the license plate to Rabbitt and
caught up to him in Imperial on Oct. 29, 1998.

Sasenger persuaded Rabbitt to submit a saliva swab so a DNA test could
eliminate him as a suspect in the South Side Rapist investigation. Rabbitt, who
lived in Cedar Hill at the time, gave the swab and then disappeared.

On Nov. 6, 1998, DNA tests identified Rabbitt as the elusive rapist.

Despite a nationwide effort, law enforcement officers couldn't find Rabbitt
until Feb. 28, when two officers stumbled onto him as they were looking for a
15-year-old runaway girl. The girl was with Rabbitt in a cheap motel.

Kennedy and Johnson both said Rabbitt has told them he raped because of an urge
he couldn't control.

"Now he wants to find out the reason why he couldn't control his urges,"
Johnson said.

Rabbitt always drank in connection with his assaults.

"He said he tried to control his urge with alcohol, but I guess it was a
double-edged sword," Johnson said.

"Drinking lowered his self control," added Kennedy.

After his capture, Rabbitt knew he would plead guilty to all charges, Johnson
said.

"He knew in Albuquerque that he'd spend the rest of his life in prison. He
wants everything to be behind him," she said. "He doesn't want to cause his
children any more pain. He doesn't want to cause his victims any more pain."

Rabbitt's guilty pleas pleased just about everyone.

"It's the greatest thing that could have happened," said St. Louis Police Capt.
Dave Heath, the acting chief of detectives. "Nobody wanted to drag all this
through trials. He saved a lot of anguish, a lot of anxiety."

Rabbitt will be sentenced on April 7 to five consecutive life sentences. He
will not be eligible for parole until he is 119 years old.

"He strikes me as a kind-hearted soul, a soul that never found its place,"
Johnson said. "He's concerned about his children (a daughter and a son). He
loves animals."

"He comes off as genuinely sorry," Kennedy said of Rabbitt. "I can't read a
person's mind, but he does seem sincere."

Rabbitt told Kennedy and others that his mother's death in December 1982 was a
telling moment in his life. Rabbitt's mother was shot to death by her second
husband when she had him served with divorce papers.

Rabbitt's father had died of natural causes and the two had been extremely
close, friends of Rabbitt said.

One of Rabbitt's victims who plans to visit him in prison is Tammy Sorocko, 22.
She was Rabbitt's youngest victim - only 14 - when he entered her home on
Wabash Avenue in St. Louis and tried to rape her at knifepoint in November
1991.

The girl, the daughter of a St. Louis police sergeant, fought the man off. She
scratched, clawed and kicked, and the intruder finally left without raping her.

"Rabbitt remembered the incident," Kennedy said. "He remembered that she fought
like a tiger and that he was sore for a few days afterward.

"He said he was sorry to find out she was only 14. He said he would never hurt
a child." (In Albuquerque, Rabbitt said he thought the runaway girl was older
than 15.)

"I've forgiven him, due to time," said Sorocko. "I want to visit him. I kind of
feel I know him from what he's said and his demeanor."

Sorocko said she now feels sorry for Rabbitt.

"My family could kill me for saying that, but I can't help it," she said. "I
don't wish bad things for him. I hope things work out to bring him peace and to
come to terms with what has happened."
