Gentlpeople,

I view the the 25 year sentence of Mr. Christopher Allen Wilson to be
excessive, given the nature of the crimes committed.

CLEVELAND COUNTY (Arkansas) PANTY THIEF SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS IN
PRISON

By Lisa Rowland/CLEVELAND COUNTY CORRESPONDENT [02/28/2004 Pine Bluff
Commercial News]

RISON -- The Herbine man known as the Cleveland County panty thief has
been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary
and theft charges.

Christopher Allen Wilson pleaded guilty to 20 counts of residential
burglary and 17 counts of theft of property.

Wilson was arrested in April in connection with a string of burglaries
in the Rison and Woodlawn areas where 18 homes were broken into and
only women's undergarments were taken. Circuit Judge Larry Chandler
sentenced Wilson to five years on one count, five years that will run
consecutively and 15 years that will run concurrently.

Deputy Prosecutor Alan Humphries said Wilson could serve as little as
one-sixth of his sentence behind bars, based on factors that will be
determined by the Department of Correction.

Wilson has undergone six months of drug rehabilitation and is said to
be doing well. He will receive credit for time already served in the
county jail.

The State Police, the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and the Rison
City Police were all involved in the investigation, which lasted
nearly two years. The burglaries began in the Woodlawn area and
eventually began taking place inside the Rison city limits.

By the time Wilson was arrested, the case had drawn statewide and even
national media attention.

He definitely needs therapy now, while he's supervised... this guy is
potential for serial killer status if they don't work on his wiring. He
already feels comfortable invading apartments and houses, rifling through to
get just what he wanted, then left.
Keep away the LSD or we'll have another Ramirez...

I live down the street from this man. He has a meth addiction and steals from old people. Caught him trying to steal stuff out of the yard of a 92 year old woman last night! And here you guys think he needs help, he needs to stay locked up.
