Over in Texas, convicted serial killer Michael Lee Lockhart is scheduled to
be executed in just a few hours. 37 year old Michael at one time claimed to
have killed over two dozen human beings, but he was convicted and has formally
admitted to only having committed three murders. Still, the three were done in
serial fashion, and so Michael absolutey qualifies as full fledged serial
killer.
Back in 1987, Michael tortured and stabbed a 16 year old girl to death in
Indiana. A year later, in the fine year of 1988, Michael was down in Florida,
and he proceeded to murder and mutilate a 14 year old girl down there. A few
months later, continuing his travelling ways, Michael went west to Texas. There
he had a run-in with a cop, who noticed that Michael was driving a stolen car.
A confrontation between Michael and the cop ensued, and Michael demonstrated
that he can kill male cops just as successfully as he could kill teen-aged
girls. But not long after killing the cop, police were able to track Michael
down, and arrested him.
In early statements to investigators after his arrest, Michael claimed to
have serially killed 24+ people, but eventually he changed his mind, for
whatever reason, and chose to only admit guilt for these three murders. It
seems a damn shame for Michael to officially go down in the historical Books Of
Blood as only having committed three murders IF in fact he did commit 24+. But
it's not my place to judge Michael's life choices. I respect him and his True
Reality, regardless of whether he killed 3 or 24+ of his fellow humans. And I
think it is outrageous that your society is about to commit a pre-meditated
murder against Michael, in just a few short hours.
Take care, JOE

Texas cop killer set for execution
United Press International
Tue, 9 Dec 1997
HUNTSVILLE, Texas, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- An Ohio drifter who has admitted killing
teenage girls in Florida and Indiana is scheduled to be executed in Texas for
the slaying of a Beaumont police officer.
Barring an eleventh-hour stay, 37-year-old Michael Lee Lockhart will receive a
lethal injection after 6 p.m. today for the March 22, 1988, shooting death of
patrolman Paul Hulsey Jr.
Lockhart would become the 37th Texas death row inmate executed this year.
According to the evidence, Lockhart was driving a stolen car from Louisiana
when Hulsey spotted the vehicle and gave chase. Hulsey tracked Lockhart to a
Beaumont motel, where he was killed in a confrontation with Lockhart.
It was the first time a Beaumont police officer died in the line of duty in
almost 70 years.
Lockhart, a native of Toledo, Ohio, once claimed to have killed more than two
dozen people but now admits to three slayings, including that of Hulsey.
After his Texas conviction, Lockhart was sentenced to death for the 1987
torture and stabbing death of 16-year-old Windy Gallagher in Griffith, Ind. He
also pleaded guilty and received a death sentence for the January 1988
mutilation slaying of 14-year-old Jennifer Colhouer of Land O'Lakes, Fla.
Lockhart told authorities that he was able to con his way into the girls' homes
before he killed them.
