I own a killer 1965 F100, but it's 2WD. I want to convert it to 4WD, but
don't know where to start.

I heard that there was an outfit out of Salt Lake City that makes
conversion kits. Anyone heard of them or know their info?

Any help is appreciated

The '65 F100s were very similar to a 70's F-100 or F-150 4x4. I'm not
sure if the frames were the same width or not, but an easy route might be
to fit the suspension from a 70's model (readily available) to your
truck. The rear suspension was the same as a 2wd, but just used lifter
blocks. They used a divorced Dana 20 transfer case, which was also used
in the 70's in 3/4 ton trucks. If you accumulated all this, with minor
custom work (3 new driveshafts) I think the conversion would be pretty
easy, and it would look original, and you'd have disk brakes.

A 2nd option would be to put your cab & bed on another 4x4 frame.
Restoring the frame to the present quality of your truck would be easy
enough. You would have to look at a lot of frames to see just how
perfectly the body mount locations match up. As you probably know, the
body mount locations and style changed very little.

3rd option would be to trade trucks, but 65 4x4's are very hard to find,
as you probably know.

Do lots of measuring first! Good luck.
