I have a 90 2.3 Ranger that on occasions will miss. This typivcally happens
when it is cold or when in 5th pulling about 1600 RPM going up a hill. I
just came back from a 100 mile round trip. It went great until about 30
miles before the end of my trip then it cut out several times for a very
short while and when I got to the top of the hill seemed to clear up. The
check engine light has come on a few times and the last code I got was 144.
I read the book and still did not have a clue what to do. Any ideas please?

I dont know about the code but a new set of plugs in my 95 Ranger
solved a similar problem. The factory platinum plugs in the truck
were shot by 50,000 miles.
